The level of internet addiction among students is mostly at a medium level, namely at a percentage of 65.1%. The student's FoMO level is also at a medium level, namely 76.7%.Conclusion: There is a correlation between internet addiction and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in Faculty of medicine UNSRAT class of 2021 students with a weak correlation level. Keywords: Internet addiction, fear of missing out (FoMO), medical students

Abstract

Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease that is difficult to cure, this is because until now there has not been found a drug or vaccine to control DHF. DHF is transmitted through the Aedes aegypti mosquito which contains the dengue virus. The Aedes aegypti mosquito only lives at temperatures between 80C–37°C. There are various breeding-places for mosquitoes, for example those found in bathtubs, jars/storage places for drinking water, empty cans, plastic drinking water, used tires and other artificial containers.Aim: To determine the effect of 3M Counseling on Compliance with the Implementation of Mosquito Larva Eradication in Help Village, Taliabu Island Regency. Methods: This type of research uses quantitative methods with a quasi-experimental approach. The sample in this study uses purposive sampling technique, the number of samples is 83 respondents. Results: Based on the results of statistical tests using paired t test, the value of ρ-value = 0.000 is smaller than the value of α = 0.05, meaning that H0 is rejected, then 3M counseling affects the compliance of mosquito larvae eradication implementation in Tolong Village, Taliabu Island Regency. Conclusion: This study concludes that adherence to the implementation of mosquito larvae before 3M counseling in the village of Help, Taliabu Island Regency. The results of non-adherence were 45 respondents (54.2%) and before 27 respondents (32.5%). This research can be used as one of the data in conducting counseling interventions to reduce dengue fever. Keywords: DHF, 3M, Compliance with mosquito larvae eradication

Abstract

Background: Every medical student has a different level of intelligence quotient (IQ), where IQ they have will help in solving problems, especially in learning. Problem based learning (PBL), expert lectures, and skills lab are some of the things that a medical student will do when studying at the faculty of medicine. This can be a stressor for a medical student who is living his life within the scope of the faculty of medicine. This is supported by data that proves that medical students have high levels of stress, where the average stress level is in the moderate stress category. Aim: To determine the relationship between IQ and perceived stress (PS) in medical faculty students at University of X. Methods: This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional design involving 162 respondents. Results:  This research shows that there are 57.4% of students who have an average IQ level and a PS level in the moderate PS category of 70.4%. Where the two variables have a very weak correlation when tested with the Spearman rank test with a correlation coefficient value of 0.184. Conclusion: Students at the Faculty of Medicine at X University has an average IQ level and moderate PS level with a very weak correlation between the two variables. Keywords: medical students, intelligence quotient, perceived stress

Abstract

Background: The occurrence of loneliness is very prominent for adolescents as their desire to feel socially accepted and belonged is very strong during the process of growth and development. Loneliness itself is a prominent aspect of the life course principle of interconnectedness. This relates to how adolescents perceive the quality of their relationships, i.e. how their lives are connected to others and how this affects mental and physical well-being. Research results on mood elevation claim that people with negative emotional states tend to seek solace online through social media. Over a span of 6 years, the number of teens with smartphone use grew from 4 in 10 teens to 9 in 10 teens.  In the same time span, the percentage of teens using social media doubled from 34% to 70%. Methods: This study is an observational analytic with a cross-sectional approach, applying the total sampling method. The sample was drawn through the distribution of questionnaires using Google form links during September-October 2023. Analysis of the correlation used the Spearman Rank test. Results: This study involved 276 student participations. There is a correlation between loneliness and the duration of social media use among 2021 students of the Faculty of Medicine, Sam Ratulangi University. The results show that the relationship between the two variables has a sufficient level of strength, a coefficient value of 0.354 and a positive correlation direction (p <0.001). Conclusion: The level of loneliness has a positive relationship with the duration of social media use in students of the Faculty of Medicine Sam Ratulangi University, class of 2021. Keywords: loneliness, duration of social media use, medical students

Abstract

Background: Hemodialysis (HD) is a therapy performed on patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) undergoing renal replacement therapy. In 2018, based on basic health research, the prevalence of CKD was 3.4%, and 19.3% of patients aged 15 years and over underwent HD, making it the 10th highest cause of death in Indonesia. This situation often causes morning anxiety disorder in each patient. Aim: To determine the factors that influence anxiety disorders with CKD patients undergoing HD therapy. Methods: The preparation of this literature review followed the PICOS guidelines. PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar were the databases used in collecting articles with relevant keywords. Results: Several research articles suggest that factors that are often associated with anxiety disorders in patients undergoing HD therapy are age, gender, financial status, education, employment, family support, comorbid diseases, duration of HD, and one's mental state. These factors become a benchmark for how anxiety disorders can occur in patients. Based on the research that has been done, the factors that often occur and have a major impact on patients from the research that has been done are age, gender, period of undergoing HD, socioeconomic status of the patient, family support, comorbid diseases and adaptive attitudes such as accepting the conditions that patients have experienced, are very influential on CKD patients with HD therapy who experience anxiety disorders. Conclusion: Anxiety disorder factors in CKD patients are age, gender, period of undergoing HD, socioeconomic, family support, comorbid diseases and the patient's adaptive attitude. Abstract

Background: Three mosquito genera commonly encountered are Anopheles, Aedes, and Culex. Each plays a role as vectors for malaria, dengue fever, and lymphatic filariasis, respectively. Data from the North Sulawesi Health Office report Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in the Kelurahan Bailang in 2022 amounted to 13 cases, and in 2023, there were 11 cases. Meanwhile, malaria cases recorded in the Kelurahan Bailang in 2022 totaled 6 cases. Aim: to determine the population and identify the genera of adult mosquitoes captured during the night in Kelurahan Bailang Kecamatan Bunaken Kota Manado. Methods: This research employs descriptive survey and sweeping as its catching methods, using nets and aspirators to catch mosquitoes. The catching takes place at night, between 19:00 until 01:00 Central Indonesia Time (WITA), conducted in six environments. It is carried out at two points within each environment, both indoors and outdoors.  The mosquitoes that were caught then were identified under microscope and using an identification key from the Departemen Kesehatan Republik Indonesia at the Parasitology Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine, Sam Ratulangi University. Result:  There were 103 adult mosquitoes identified in this study. The most predominant genus was Culex spp, comprising 102 mosquitoes (99%), followed by Aedes mosquitoes with only 1 specimen (1%). Meanwhile, Anopheles spp was unknown. Male mosquitoes were predominantly, and the most genus of adult mosquitoes found outdoors are 52 mosquitoes with the most found in environments 2 and the majority of adult mosquitoes of different genera were found outdoors.
