Abstract

This study was a research and development which was based on Borg and Gall model modified by Sugiyono.  This model divided the steps of the development process into 6 stages: 1) problem analysis, 2) data collection, 3) product design, 4) validation testing, 5) product revision, and 6) limited testing.  This study aimed to produce a product of Mind Mapping-based Pocket Book Learning Media for Understanding the Concept of Indonesian Geographical Materials at grade V.  This study also aimed to determine the level of feasibility and understanding of students towards Mind Mapping-based Pocket Book on Indonesian Geographical Conditions.  The subjects in this study were 17 fifth grade students of SDN Cimunang Cilik. The analysis technique used in this research was the feasibility analysis technique of expert judgement and students’ understanding tests. The results of this study showed that the results of the assessment by media experts obtained an average percentage of 89.2% with the category "Very Feasible" while the results of the assessment by material experts obtained an average percentage of 91% with the category "Very Feasible", and the results of the assessment by linguists obtained an average percentage of 82.8% in the category of "Very feasible". Finally, the results of the test of students' understanding got an average score of 88.2 in "Good" category.  The results of this study indicated that Mind Mapping-based Pocket Book learning media could be used to improve students' understanding on the material of Indonesia's geographical conditions.

Abstract

This thesis discussed the implementation of the values of character education at SD Muhammadiyah Makassar. The objectives of this study were (1) To observe the implementation of character education in achieving the goals of mental revolution values at SD Muhammadiyah Perumnas Makassar, (2) To observe the values of mental revolution applied at SD Muhammadiyah Perumnas Makassar, (3) To observe the results of implementing the values of character education at SD Muhammadiyah Perumnas. The type of this research was a qualitative research with descriptive analysis. This research was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Perumnas Makassar. The data source in this study included primary data, namely the vice principal, teachers, and students, and secondary data such as documents related to the object under study. Data were obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. Data were then analyzed qualitatively by using triangulation to ensure the validity of the data against the focus under study. The results showed that the values of character education integrated in the learning process activities were religious, disciplined, diligent, curious, caring, and responsible. Meanwhile, the implementation of character education values in extracurricular activities was carried out through sacred tread activities, sports, and enrichment by providing motivation, understanding, advice, sanctions, role models and gifts to students. As the implication, SD Muhammadiyah Perumnas Makassar further enhanced the implementation of character education values in order to realize a mental revolution program both in the learning process or intracuricular activities and extracurricular activities in order to create a generation of people with high moral integrity.

Abstract

Literary work is the result of an author's imagination through the medium of language. One form of literary works is poetry. As a literary work, poetry is bound to lines and stanzas. In this study, we discussed the problem of how the content of children's literature (poetry) contained in the 2013 curriculum thematic book of elementary school in shaping the students’ personality characteristics viewed from stylistic analysis. The purpose of the study was to determine the stylistics of children's poetry contained in the 2013 curriculum thematic books of elementary school. The type of this research was qualitative research using descriptive method. This research was in the form of a documentation study, which analyzed the forms of poetry contained in the thematic books of elementary school. Thus, the object of this research was these forms of poetry. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the children's poetry contained in elementary school students' books used several sound elements, such as rhyme, alliteration, assonance, anaphora, epanalepsis, mesodiplosis, and onomatopoeia. Meanwhile, the use of diction found in the book was in the form of Arabic diction. Then, the use of images was in the form of images of sight, hearing, smell, and taste while the figures of speech used in this book were personification, hyperbole, metaphor, and simile. Then, it was also found several language deviation, such as morphological, syntactic, and graphological deviations. The forms of children's poetry contained in the thematic books of elementary school weredesigned in accordance with the characteristics of children's poetry. This was seen from the way the elements of sound, diction, figure of speech, images, and language deviations are used.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the influence of Value Clarification Technique (VCT) on the students’ discipline in learning civic at grade IV. The method of this research was Quasi Experiment conducted at grade IV. This research used two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Class IV A, as the experimental class, consisted of 30 students and Class IV B, as the control class, also consisted of 30 students. Based on the research conducted, it was revealed that there was a significant influence of implementation of of Value Clarification Technique (VCT) on the students’ discipline in civic subject. The results of the discipline questionnaire for VCT model obtained a score of 84.63. Whereas, the results of the discipline questionnaire for the lecture method was 65.23. Moreover, based on the results of t test in which 0.000 <0.05, it was concluded that there was an effect of Value Clarification Technique (VCT) method on the students’ discipline and the use of Value Clarification Technique (VCT) method was better than the lecture method.

Abstract

Students tend to experience difficulties in learning mathematics, one of which is seen from the very low score of students' mathematics report cards. Meanwhile, success means to achieve learning objectives. In fact,there is a situation in which students still find it difficult to understand the material being taught. Mathematics is perceived as a boring, uninteresting, and difficult subject to understand, and learning is always teacher centered. This study aimed to determine the increase of students’ learning outcomes and the implementation of learning using teaching aids. This research was conducted at SD Inpres Tobu and the research subjects were 20 grade IV students. The data were collected through tests and observation sheets. Based on the results of the analysis, it could be concluded that there was an increase in students’ learning outcomes after utilizing teaching aids in Mathematics in the material of geometry and cubes at grade IV SD Inpres Tobu for the academic year 2019/2020.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out that the implementation of think pair square to improve students’ learning outcome. This was a classroom action research. The data analysis technique used in this research is qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes from before the action, cycle I, and cycle II. Before the action only 9  students (56,25%) achieved the KKM, in cycle I increased to 11 students (68,75%) achieved the KKM, and In cycle II increased to 14 students (87.50%) achieved the KKM. Thus it can be concluded that the application of think pair square learning technique can improve students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

School action research (SAR) aims to improve the learning system at schools. The purpose of this research was to improve teachers’ ability to utilize computers in teaching through the implementation of workshops. Data in this research were collected through observations and reflections on the actions of teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Kubu in two cycles. The subjects in this study were 20 teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Kubu. The results showed that the implementation of workshops to improve the teachers’ ability to utilize computers in teaching increased with the percentage of 90% (an excellent category). Based on these results, it could be concluded that implementing workshops was effective to improve the teachers’ ability to utilize computers in teaching at SMP Negeri 1 Kubu Babussalam Rokan Hilir Regency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve integrated thematic learning process through scientific approach at grade 3 elementary school. The subjects of this study were researchers as the teachers, and 22 students. This study applied PTK research. This study utilized a qualitative and quantitative approach. The results showed an increase in: (a) the average value of RPP in cycle I for 98% (A) and 100% (A) in cycle II, (b) the result of the learning process from teachers’ aspects in cycle I was 80% (B) and in cycle 2 was 95% (A), (c) the students’ aspects in cycle 1 was 51.59% (D) and in cycle II was 86.59% (A).

Abstract

Character education is not a new thing in the world of education today. Character education requires educators to fully contribute to instilling character values to create a cultured nation in the 2013 curriculum. This study describes character education in the 2013 curriculum in elementary schools cluster I, bontomarannu sub-district, Gowa regency, South Sulawesi. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The results showed that the implementation of character in the 2013 curriculum, which consists of being religious, honest, disciplined, hard work, and responsible, is still lacking and still needs to be re-evaluated. Some factors support and hinder the creation of character education in the 2013 curriculum, which is eroded and can change if every component such as teachers, students and society work well together.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explain project-based learning activities on instructional media courses for the design of learning media at elementary schools. This study also aimed to determine the students’ perceptions towards project-based learning in instructional media courses.  This study was a quantitative descriptive study using literature study and surveys.  One of learning activities in media course which used project-based learning model was designing visual, audio-visual, and multimedia learning media. The stages in designing the learning media were started from analyzing basic competencies in one subject, making a learning media framework, creating the design results, and finally presenting how to use the learning media as well as publishing to Google Classroom. The results revealed that students' perceptions towards project-based learning in learning media courses based on each indicator were as follow. The percentage for the indicator of student and lecturer interactions was 82.53% (good); for the indicator of students’ learning interests was 80.66% (good); for the indicator of competency in understanding teaching materials was 88.53% (good); for the indicator of competency to think critically, effectively, and efficiently was 88.66% (good); for the indicator of time management competence was 80.26 (good); for the indicator of students’ learning outcomes was 88.40% (good), and for the appropriateness of project-based learning application with subject characteristics was 91.20  % (very good).
