Abstract

This study aims to depict the problems faced in the implementation of a one-stop integrated service policy in the religious judicial system. Data were also obtained through direct interviews from a number of informants, mainly the judges of the provincial and district High Religious Courts (Pengadilan Tinggi Agama) and (Pengadilan Agama). This study finds out that competence of judges in religious courts was minimal, and their selection requirements were laxer, as there were no special criteria for studying Islamic sciences. Consequently, judges preferring decisions on material laws over Islamic precepts. Therefore, judges’ decisions in establishing regulations tend to be fixed on material laws, which is evident in cases such as, divorce lawsuits.

Abstract

This study examines the model of learning matan jazariyah and its implications for improving the ability of tahsin Al-Quran in students at PTQ Darussaqqaf Polman. The type of research is qualitative, case study approach, and constructivism paradigm. Data sources are leaders, ustadz-ustadzah, and students. Data analysis techniques use grounded theory through three stages, namely open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The results show that, the implementation of tajwid learning through a systematic and structured halaqah method, combining memorization, theory, and practice, is carried out in groups every after Fajr. The implications of learning matan jazariyyah can improve the ability to read the Qur'an fluently, according to good and correct tajwid rules, thereby improving the quality of tahsin students. The development model of learning Matan Jazariyyah refers to the halaqah model developed into Halaqah Matan Jazariyyah which emphasizes the deepening of tajwid material in a structured manner, direct practice, and evaluation of memorization and reading of the Qur'an. The Halaqah Matan Jazariyyah approach is more transformative because it prioritizes memorization of the Qur'an and a deep understanding of the rules of tajwid.

Abstract

This study analyzes the crisis of scientific publications in the Islamic Religious Education Study Program (PAI) IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo with a focus on transforming the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education to support the achievement of superior accreditation. The research uses a qualitative method with a case study design. Data were collected through document desk reviews, observations, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman models. The results of the study show that Sinta-accredited national publications have increased by 15% per year, while reputable international publications have decreased from 8 articles (2022 and 2023) to 2 articles (2024). The variation in productivity between lecturers is quite high, influenced by limited facilities, publication costs, lack of collaboration, and evaluation oriented towards the quantity of training. This study contributes a conceptual framework of the relationship between causal factors, outcomes, and action strategies. Recommendations include target-based mentoring, special funding for publications, strengthening global research networks, and outcome-based evaluation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the “Menyatu dalam Harmoni” music performance, a collaboration between the State Christian Institute of Manado and the State Islamic Institute of Manado, in fostering interfaith harmony through the promotion and dessemination of religious moderation values. The research method employed was a descriptive qualitative case study. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with organizers, musicians, religious leaders, and audience members; participant observation during the event; and document analysis of published media, performance materials, and archives. Findings indicate that the performance served not merely as entertainment but as a social interaction space that built mutual trust, strengthened empathy, and nurtured collective awareness of the importance of interfaith cooperation. The discussion highlights that art-based approaches can transcend religious identity boundaries and act as effective bridges for dialogue, contributing strategically to the strengthening of social harmony.

Abstract

This research aims to answer how Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas's concept of justice can offer solutions to the crisis of truth in the post-truth era. The post-truth phenomenon is characterized by the dominance of hoaxes, misinformation, and manipulation of public emotions, which reflects the loss of intellectual discipline in treating knowledge. Epistemological defects occur when truth is treated on an equal footing with opinions and conjectures, thus giving birth to epistemic injustice. This study uses a qualitative approach through a literature review of al-Attas' works. The analysis shows that the essence of justice according to al-Attas puts everything in its place and can be applied in the realm of knowledge through manners and the placement of knowledge. This perspective shows that efforts to counter hoaxes, misinformation, and information manipulation are not enough with technical verification alone, but require a reconstruction of epistemic consciousness rooted in the Islamic worldview.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the legal positivization of the Indonesian Council of Ulama’s (MUI) Fatwa No. 2 of 2022 and to explore its potential as a foundation for formal regulation. Employing a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach, data were collected through document analysis, Islamic legal literature, and interviews with MUI figures and local communities. The findings demonstrate that the fatwa reflects Qur’anic principles of justice, public interest (maṣlaḥah), and equality, while simultaneously affirming the legal status of fatwas as normative products with potential for positivization or legalization into valid written regulations, at least in the form of local bylaws (Perda). The fatwa thus functions as a normative bridge connecting Islamic law, customary norms, and state law. The study recommends synergy between MUI, local government, and traditional leaders to advance the transformation of fatwas into contextual and equitable regulations

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of meaning in the Bugis society’s mappasikarawa culture, which has undergone significant shifts in values due to modernity. It employs a dialectical approach between the Qur’an and local cultural context as al-urf to map the dynamic relationship between universal Islamic values and local wisdom. Using a qualitative analytical-critical method, data was gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis in Bugis regions. Findings show that mappasikarawa serves not only as a symbolic ritual but also integrates Qur’anic values sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah. Thus, a contextual reinterpretation based on maqaṣid al-shariah and hifz al-nafs is essential to maintain its relevance and harmony with Islamic law.

Abstract

This study criticizes the phenomenon of provocative da'wah on social media through the perspective of Qur'anic ethics in Surah An-Nahl verse 125. With the qualitative method of content analysis and thematic hermeneutics, the results of the study show that: (1) Provocative da'wah theologically deviates from the principles of Qur'anic da'wah and ethically violates Islamic moral values such as al-ḥilm (politeness) and ar-raḥmah (compassion); (2) The three pillars in Surah An-Nahl verse 125 offer a comprehensive communication ethics framework for digital da'wah, which is integrated with digital literacy and moral responsibility; (3) The implementation of this framework has academic implications for the development of thematic interpretation studies and digital communication science, as well as practical implications in the form of operational guidelines for dai to create a calming, unifying, and dignified digital da'wah ecosystem (rahmatan lil 'alamin).
