Abstract

This article aims to describe the propriety of the Jami' Air Tiris Mosque as a cultural symbol of a religious tourism destination in Kampar Regency and the embodiment of Kampar as the porch of Mecca, Riau. This is because Kampar's nickname as the porch of Mecca, Riau has taken root and developed everywhere, so it really needs proof by realizing the slogan with reality. The method used is through a qualitative approach that leads to content analysis. The results found that based on Law no. 10 of 2009, Chapter 1, Article 1 it has been stated that tourism is a variety of tourism activities and is supported by various facilities and services provided by the community, businessmen, government and local government. Then it was strengthened by Regional Regulation number 6 of 2016 concerning the Formation and Composition of Regional Apparatuses of Kampar Regency, then in chapter II article 3 it is stated that the Tourism and Culture Office which carries out Government affairs in the field of tourism and culture includes organizing religious tourism which has the connotation of travel activities carried out voluntarily to enjoy tourist objects and attractions in a religious tourist destination. Abstract

The indigenous people of Lampung Pepadun in Pekon Marga Kaya have the principle of piil pesenggiri which is detailed as a customary law guideline as stated in the Book of Kuntara Raja Niti, but it needs to be further analyzed about its existence amid the many processes of cultural penetration and assimilation brought by migrants. This research uses a multidisciplinary approach by directing to socio-legal forms, therefore the process of obtaining data is carried out directly by interviews. As a result, the people of Lampung in Pekon Marga Kaya still adhere to the principle of piil pesenggiri and its derivatives that represent the contents of Kuntara Raja Niti. The existence of the Kuntara Raja Niti Book is known by the people of Lampung Marga Kaya, although not many people know its context. However, applying the pesenggiri piil is substantially like applying Kuntara Raja Niti as a way of life and behavior. Local governments must establish clear policies that protect the existence of indigenous peoples and their laws.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the Islamic elements present in the traditional wedding customs of the Malay community in Riau. The study adopts a phenomenological case study method to investigate this cultural phenomenon. The findings reveal a strong integration of Malay customs and Islamic values within the Riau Malay culture. The preference for the term "nikah-kawin" among the Riau Malay community reflects the significance of both cultural traditions and religious values in their marriage institution. Furthermore, Islamic values such as respect for parents, prayer, and gratitude are also integrated into various Riau Malay customary ceremonies. Within this context, the research demonstrates how the Riau Malay culture exemplifies the harmonious fusion of religion and tradition, contributing to the formation of a strong identity and enriching positive values within the local community. To preserve and enhance the cultural heritage rooted in Islamic values, it is crucial to enhance the understanding and awareness of the importance of preserving the Riau Malay cultural heritage. Further comprehensive and inclusive research is warranted to deepen the understanding of this phenomenon.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze how people from different ethnic backgrounds interact with each other while doing business at Matsum City Halat Traditional Market. This research is a qualitative descriptive research, therefore the research method used in this study reflects this. The type of data presented through observation and interviews using primary data is the source of informant data. The sources of this informant data include traders at Matsum City Halat Traditional Market, books and journals that can be downloaded from the internet, and several documentation files that can be obtained directly at Matsum City Halat Market. Huberman and Johnny Saldana are the ones who will be able to get qualitative data analysis with an interactive model developed by Matthew B. Miles and A. Michael. This method of analysis was chosen for use in this particular study. The findings of this study show that the utilization of convection and divergence communication tactics is accurate whenever these traders engage in conversation with each other. Based on an analysis of 6 speakers' linguistic, idiomatic, intonational, mental, and gestural approaches to their interactions, we found that 4 (four) traders often use convergence communication tactics indirectly. The other two people use different communication strategies in their contacts, which means they don't seek to change their innate attitudes or behaviors when engaging with others.

Abstract

Climate change and consumption of sustainable resources are global issues internalized in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In fact, local wisdom has accommodated the concept of sustainable development. However, local wisdom is currently less involved in the SDGs. This research seeks to ensure that local wisdom, including the Mentawai Arat Sabulungan (AS), can support SDGs 12 and 13 in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to explore the position and role of the AS, to analyze the correlation between the AS and the SDGs mission to address climate change and sustainable resource consumption, and to formulate efforts to implement national SDGs points 12 and 13 through a cultural approach. The research method used is qualitative research by collecting data through interviews, observation, and literature studies. The results of this study are: First, AS is the belief system of the Mentawai people as an ecological awareness that is based on sacred values and functions as a religious principle, social norm, and environmental conservation. Second, the AS concept of sacred ecology has relevance to the SDGs on sustainable consumption and efforts to deal with climate change. Third, the strategy for implementing SDGs points 12 and 13 can be carried out by localizing it.
