Abstract

Handwoven fabrics, commonly known as "kain tenun," have been an enduring part of the cultural heritage of the Sasak community, passed down through generations and frequently utilized in various traditional and religious ceremonies. Cultural tourism has played a pivotal role in inspiring the younger generation to delve into the tradition of weaving due to their increasing interest in the popular trend of cultural tourism. This research aims to explore and compare the meanings of traditional Lombok weaving motifs with the outcomes of automated machine production as part of cultural diversity education in the textile context. A qualitative method is employed, utilizing the Informant Technique determined through purposive sampling to obtain in-depth perceptions of the cultural values inherent in traditional Lombok weaving and machine-produced textiles. Research instruments include observation sheets and interview guidelines. Data are analyzed using the Miles and Hubberman method to compare and present the meanings of traditional Lombok weaving motifs with machine-produced outcomes. The research findings reveal that traditional Lombok weaving motifs hold strong cultural, historical, and symbolic values for the local community. Pringgasela village exhibits a diverse array of motifs, with Sri Menanti, Sundawa, Pucuk Rebong, Ragi Bayanan, and Pancor Boros emerging as motifs most sought after by tourists and serving as distinctive features of Pringgasela. The positioning of motifs or symbols in weaving acts as a symbolic intermediary between human thought and the surrounding reality. These motifs can be utilized as educational tools to shape the profile of Pancasila students, aligning with the philosophical meanings inherent in each weave. For instance, the Pucuk Rebong motif embodies characteristics of faith and piety towards the Almighty, while Sri Menanti signifies creativity, Ragi Bayanan represents independence, and motifs such as Sundawa represent a blend, reflecting global diversity. This insight can be considered a national perspective or a new realm of knowledge for external communities.

Abstract

Abstract

This research examines the adoption of SIMOLEK in changing the culture of public services. Licensing and non-licensing services at the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office of Pekanbaru City use the SIMOLEK application as a medium to facilitate service access. However, problems arise when the infrastructure in the application is not supportive, such as wifi errors or unstable data networks in cards that have implications for the processing process slowing down. Finally, people who are processing their business licenses still have to come to the Pekanbaru City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office. By coming to the location, the government's readiness to change the culture of public services looks mature in planning but mental in implementation.  The method used in this research is through descriptive analysis which seeks to describe existing data from various sources and relate it to social phenomena and trace all the facts related to the problem of this title. The theory used in this research is Rogers' theory. The results show that the adoption of SIMOLEK has not been optimally implemented in changing the service culture but SIMOLEK is believed to be able to change the service culture from conventional face-to-face to online service processes

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to explain the function of the Mbaru Gendang as a public sphere in resolving land conflicts in Manggarai. The Mbaru Gendang as the traditional house of the Manggarai people has become a central place in every public policy making, including in resolving land conflicts. Manggarai people's awareness of the function of the Mbaru Gendang can be explored more deeply by using Jurgen Habermas' philosophy about public sphere. According to Habermas, a public sphere is not just there for locative information, but a condition that enables a joint discourse, openly and freely, for the sake of reaching a public decision. Thus, a public sphere is conditioning rational communication and dialogue through a discursive process. The methodology used in this study is qualitative phenomenological by conducting interviews with Manggarai traditional leaders. The results of the interviews are then elaborated with Habermas' philosophy about public sphere. The finding of this study is that the Mbaru Gendang has become a space for discourse in resolving land conflicts in Manggarai. This issue requires open and free rational communication and dialogue.
