Sosial Budaya (Online ISSN 2407-1684 | Print ISSN 1979-2603), merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau sejak tahun 2007. Jurnal Sosial Budaya ini merupakan media yang memuat kajian-kajian ilmiah dalam bentuk hasil riset dalam bidang ilmu sosial/humaniora, seperti pernaskahan, pranata-sosial dan sejarah untuk membangun dan membangkitkan kembali kejayaan Tamaddun Melayu dalam kawasan regional Asia Tenggara. Jurnal Sosial Budaya diterbitkan dua kali dalam setahun pada bulan Juli dan Desember yang berusaha menempatkan hasil penelitian para peneliti, akademisi, pemerhati dalam keilmuan terkait. Jurnal Sosial Budaya juga memberi perhatian bagi publikasi hasil penelitian interdisipliner berbagai pihak yang memiliki perhatian serius untuk merancang, dan merajut tatanan dunia baru Tamadun Melayu.

Abstract

Surakarta dikenal sebagai kota budaya yang menjunjung tinggi sopan santun, keselarasan, dan nilai-nilai tradisional seperti guyub rukun dan ewuh pakewuh. Di tengah karakter budaya yang menjunjung keharmonisan tersebut, kehadiran dark jokes dalam pertunjukan stand-up comedy justru menarik perhatian pelajar sebagai audiens utama. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus, penelitian ini menggali konstruksi makna dark jokes serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi penerimaannya di kalangan pelajar penikmat stand-up comedy di Surakarta. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa dark jokes dimaknai bukan semata sebagai hiburan, melainkan sebagai bentuk ekspresi keresahan sosial dan kritik terhadap isu-isu tabu. Proses pembentukan makna berlangsung melalui tahapan eksternalisasi, objektivasi, dan internalisasi, sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam teori konstruksi sosial Berger dan Luckmann. Penerimaan terhadap dark jokes dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang budaya lokal, segmentasi audiens, pengalaman personal komika, fungsi sosial humor, tingkat paparan, batasan etika, serta kurasi materi. Fenomena ini memperlihatkan adanya negosiasi antara ekspresi budaya populer dan nilai-nilai tradisional dalam benak generasi muda Surakarta.

Abstract

Kabupaten Lamongan, salah satu kabupaten besar di Jawa Timur, tengah berupaya untuk branding kotanya lewat berbagai festival bertajuk “Lamongan Megilan”. Saat acara Megilan Lamongan digelar, banyak pemangku kepentingan yang ikut memeriahkan setiap festivalnya. Para pemangku kepentingan ini menciptakan berbagai tekanan seperti tekanan persaingan, tekanan pemerintah, tekanan media, dan tekanan publik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus deskriptif. Dari 23 informan yang diwawancarai dan 25 artikel berita, dijelaskan berbagai tekanan dari pemangku kepentingan masing-masing festival. Hasilnya mengklasifikasikan setiap jenis tekanan pemangku kepentingan berdasarkan teori. Kerangka konseptual baru muncul dari penelitian ini, yang menunjukkan bahwa acara ini menghadapi berbagai jenis tekanan dari pemangku kepentingan. Kesimpulan yang diambil adalah city branding festival Lamongan Megilan mengalami tekanan yang membuat pihak penyelenggara festival merasa tidak nyaman. Disarankan untuk mengadakan rapat koordinasi dengan seluruh pemangku kepentingan dan melakukan evaluasi untuk mengurangi tekanan pemangku kepentingan.

Abstract

This article discusses the food polemic that occurs in Mentawai due to development programs. Since the New Order era until now, development programs have enveloped the lives of Mentawai people, disrupting the balance, especially food security issues. Analysis from FSVA (Food Security and Vulnerability Map) shows that Mentawai Islands regency is the only area that experiences food insecurity in West Sumatra province. Through a descriptive approach and elaborating on the results of previous research, it shows the factors of development programs carried out by the government that are fatal to the food security of the Mentawai people, especially the transition from sago to rice. The result shows that the food security of Mentawai people is disrupted through the development process with the mission of 'modernizing' Mentawai people.  Thus, making them far away and even switch from local food, namely sago, taro and banana sourced from the forest to rice. This is due to the government intervention through the 'resettlement program', social assistance, limited forest access and weak economic capabilities that put them under the pressure of development discourse and as if they need help. Whereas it is not what Mentawai people want and need.  As a result, their access to food, which has been sourced from the forest, has been replaced by the rice paddy printing program. However, as an ethnic group that has a culture of gathering and hunting and farming, they do not have the ability to grow crops (agriculture). Therefore, the Mentawai people are still in the poverty line and the dilemma between eating sago or rice, both of which are not easy to obtain.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh motivasi wisatawan terhadap keputusan berkunjung di Museum Prabu Geusan Ulun Sumedang. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 100 orang yang merupakan wisatawan Museum Prabu Geusan Ulun Sumedang. Metode kuantitatif deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui besaran pengaruh dan tingkat hubungan antara variabel Motivasi Fisik (X1), Motivasi Budaya (X2), Motivasi Interpersonal (X3), dan Motivasi Fantasi (X4) terhadap keputusan berkunjung (Y). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis regresi linear berganda untuk mengukur besaran pengaruh variabel independent terhadap dependen dan uji hipotesis   secara simultan (uji f) dan parsial (uji t) untuk menyatakan terdapat atau tidaknya pengaruh motivasi wisatawan terhadap keputusan berkunjung. Hasil dalam penelitian ini terdapat pengaruh sebesar 55% (Motivasi Fisik), 38% (Motivasi Budaya), 56% (Motivasi Interpersonal), 56% (Motivasi Fantasi). Hasil uji F menyatakan terdapat pengaruh sehingga didapatkan nilai Fhitung sebesar 45.031 dengan taraf signifikan sebesar 0,000. Peneliti berharap dengan adanya penelitian ini dapat menjadikan Museum Prabu Geusan Ulun Sumedang sebagai daya tarik wisata unggulan lebih dikembangkan serta penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan kajian untuk peneliti selanjutnya.

Abstract

The Tagaraja Village shows the characteristics of a multicultural society with ethnic diversity including Malays, Bugis, Minangkabau, Javanese and others in one administrative area. Social relations that are established through amalgamation require that each family with a different cultural background negotiate with each other. The amalgamation that is the focus of this research is to find out the marriage system and how to negotiate marriages between the Bugis and Minangkabau ethnic groups who have differences in their marriage institutions. This study uses qualitative research with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, documentation and literature studies. The results of the study show that the marriage procession is more dominant following the cultural peculiarities of the women's side, but lineage and inheritance rights are determined based on the agreement of the two families by calculating benefits from socio-cultural aspects.

Abstract

A logo as a visual identity contains design elements as symbols to represent the values, goals and characteristics of the entity being represented. The thing behind the interest of the author of this research is the use of the word "Nyenyes" in the logo being studied. The main problem raised in this research is the design principles of the Nyeyes Palembang logo, viewed from functional and aesthetic aspects. The problem solving plan begins by using qualitative research methods with a measurable and systematic analysis process, starting from the logo description stage, logo analysis by looking at relationships and relevance, as well as function and aesthetic studies based on design principles such as simplicity, timeless, balance, proportional and relevant. Thus, the results of the research can be seen from the visual appearance of the Nyenyes Palembang logo which has implemented design principles as a whole, so that the effectiveness and efficiency values of the logo are very visible and have relevance to the culture of the people of Palembang city. The results of the analysis are strengthened by questionnaire data that the author collected, from a total of 50 correspondences, more than 70% stated that the Nyenyes Palembang logo as a visual identity was attractive, effective and efficient in conveying messages to the target audience.

Abstract

Penelitian ini akan mengkaji tradisi Islam diskursif yang ada di dalam kajian kitab tasawuf Perkumpulan Thoriqoh Syathoriyah Indonesia. Sebab, tradisi dalam Islam merupakan tradisi diskursif, yakni sebuah tradisi muncul atau dipertahankan karena dipengaruhi oleh faktor masa lalu, masa sekarang, masa depan, dan otoritas kekuasaan. Fokus penelitian ini adalah bagaimana kajian kitab tasawuf di Perkumpulan Thoriqoh Syathoriyah Indonesia dan apa makna kajian kitab tasawuf bagi perkumpulan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain antropologi Islam. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah 1) Munculnya organisasi Perkumpulan Thoriqoh Syathoriyah Indonesia dan kajian kitab tasawuf dalam perkumpulan tersebut merupakan bentuk inovasi yang dimunculkan oleh generasi muda tarekat Syathariyah melalui proses diskursif agar ajaran tarekat Syathariyah tetap relevan dengan masa kini sambil tetap terhubung dengan masa lalu; 2) Makna kajian kitab tasawuf bagi Perkumpulan Thoriqoh Syathoriyah Indonesia meliputi pembukaan wawasan, penguatan keyakinan, pemahaman tentang sumber-sumber tarekat Syathariyah, dan pembentukan rasa persatuan. Makna ini terbentuk melalui proses diskursif yang mencakup interpretasi dan tafsiran terhadap ajaran tarekat Syathariyah, dengan mempertimbangkan masa lalu, masa kini, dan masa depan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the content of local wisdom in traditional expressions to reveal the characteristics of the Malay community of Jambi. The data include traditional expressions that include phrases in the form of seloko, petitih proverbs, figurative language, and proverbs. The research method uses the method of listening, note -taking and recording techniques. Data analysis using independent techniques Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the traditional Malay expressions of Jambi, obtained either in the form of proverbs, sayings, and parables. The Malay community of Jambi in general is not open in speaking, so they use allusions to convey the message in the speech. Some of the characters of the Jambi Malay society in the traditional are heavy, religious, honest, polite, polite, wise, open, diligent, mutual aid, loyal, empathetic, humble, obedient, friendly, knightly, unyielding, democracy, tolerance, pluralism, fair, responsibility. Abstract

This study examines the Pno Adeak tradition in the hajj ceremony of the Kerinci community, which holds significant social values and is still maintained to this day. This tradition is a rhythmic dialogue between the host and the guest, represented by traditional leaders, encompassing the expression of intentions, purposes, and requests for permission. Pno Adeak is considered important in various traditional ceremonies such as weddings, kenduri sko, kenduri sudah nue, funerals, healing ceremonies, new house inaugurations, and hajj departures. Its existence demonstrates the commitment of the Kerinci community to preserving cultural heritage amidst the wave of modernization. This research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to understand how the community interprets the social and spiritual values within the tradition and how these values contribute to the sustainability of the tradition in modern society. The results show that social values such as empathy, politeness, and responsibility embedded in Pno Adeak are crucial in maintaining social order and cultural identity of the Kerinci community

Abstract

Social media causes changes in the marketing context, especially in terms of promotion that makes the creation of online businesses. Instagram is one of the most popular social media. Instagram is a social media that helps businesses market products online. This research focuses on Miss Glam, a beauty shop that sells a variety of beauty products and uses Instagram as a means of communication in marketing products. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of Instagram in marketing beauty tools on the @missglam_id account. This research uses the AIDA theory, which can be used to examine how Instagram plays a role in marketing. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and journal literature reviews. The results of this study, based on informants from 5 people (1 admin of the @missglam_id Instagram account and 4 followers account), show that the role of Instagram in marketing beauty products on the @missglam_id account is very effective, both in terms of Instagram features and interaction with followers.
