Abstract

This experiment aimed to know the difference of the resulting study in the cognitive aspect in the physic science by using the scientific approach with experiment and demonstration method. Scientific approach process includes: Analysis, Asking, Collecting Information and Communication. The result of students study can increase and better using scientific approach learning with experiment method and demonstration. The result of the study is size from N-gain score result of pretest evaluation and posttest. Experiment design at this experiment is using pre experimental design with One – Group type and pretest and posttest design. Analysis technic result of the study using the N-Gain score and hypothesis exam using independent sample T-Test exam. Base on N-Gain the result of the student at both of this class experiment. Based on the resulting accounting knowing the mean N-Gain at the experiment class as 0.72 (high category) with 23 students (77%) get the high score and 7 students (23%) get mean category. There is an increasing mean score the result of student study as 63%. Although in the demonstration class, knowing means N-gain as 0.59 (mean category) with 6 students (20 %) get a high category, 22 students (73%) get mean category and 2 students (7 %) get a low category. In increasing mean score the result of the student as (40 %)Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui per­bedaan rata-rata hasil belajar aspek kognitif siswa pada pembelajaran fi­sika menggunakan scientific approach dengan metode eksperimen dan demonstrasi. Proses scientific approach meliputi: Mengamati, Menanya, Mengumpulkan informasi/eksperimen dan Mengkomunikasikan.Hasil belajar diukur dari nilai N-gain hasil evaluasi pretest dan posttest, Desain eksperimen pada penelitian ini menggunakan bentuk Pre-Eksperi­men­tal Design dengan tipe One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Teknik analisis data hasil belajar menggunakan skor N-gain dan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Independent Sample T Test. Berda­sarkan hasil per­hitungan diketahui rerata N-gain pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,72 (kategori tinggi) dengan rincian: 23 siswa (77%) memperoleh kategori tinggi dan 7 siswa (23%) memperoleh kategori sedang. Ada­­pun kenaikan skor rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 63%. Pada kelas dengan mengguakan metode demonstrasi, didapat rerata N-gain sebesar 0,59 (kategori sedang) dengan rincian: 6 siswa (20%) memperoleh kategori tinggi, 22 siswa (73%) memperoleh kategori sedang dan 2 siswa (7%) memperoleh kategori rendah. Adapun ke­naikan skor rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 40%. Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen menyebabkan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran fisika menggunakan metode demonstras dengan scientific approachKata Kunci : scientific approach, eksperimen, demonstrasi, hasil belajar

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the teacher and the student’s needs for supporting learning media as the student worksheet and to offer worksheet design for supporting media learning activities based on scientific approach focused on the students’ creative thinking skills. The method of this research is research development model Borg and Gall with 10 steps but this research was done until third steps due to limited time and budgeting. The techniques are the questionnaires and observation method. The need analysis result from SMPN 2 Tulang Bawang Udik through student questionnaire of seventh grade in the percentage 71,42% and teacher questionnaire in the percentage 76,47% stated that the student worksheet based on scientific approach as supporting media for learning activities needs to develop to make easier understanding learning material. Observation method is done to know the facility and infrastructure in this school. The Observation result declared that student worksheet that is used still comes from the Department of Education’s textbook. The designs of student worksheet are a) cover; b) forward; c)content list; d) usage direction; e) main competence; f) basic competence, g) indicator; h) content of student worksheet; i) material resume; j) evaluation; and k) references. The student worksheet contains the 5M steps of learning (observing, questioning, experimenting, logical reasoning, and communicating) and also the indicator of creative thinking skills that include sensitivity, fluently, attractively, originality, and elaboration.Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kebutuhan guru dan siswa dengan adanya media penunjang kegiatan pembelajaran berupa LKPD dan menawarkan desain LKPD sebagai penunjang dalam pembelajaran berbasis pendekatan scientific berfokus pada keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan Borg and Gall yang memuat 10 langkah, namun pada penelitian ini dibatasi sampai 3 langkah saja dikarekana keterbatasan waktu . Teknik pengumpulan data digunakan metode angket dan obersevasi. Hasil analisis kebutuhan di SMP Negeri 2 Tulang Bawang Udik melalui angket siswa kelas VII dengan presentase 71,42%dan angket guru dengan presentase 76,47% menyatakan bahwa LKPD berbasis pendekatan scientific sebagai media pendukung dalam kegiatan pembelajaran perlu dikembangkan untuk mempermudah siswa memahami materi pembelajaran. Metode observasi observasi dilakukan untuk mengetahui sumber daya sarana dan prasarana yang ada di Sekolah. Hasil observasi menyatakan bahwa LKPD yang digunakan masih berasal dari buku paket dari dinas pendidikan .Dan desain dari LKPD yang mungkin ditawarkan adalah a) cover; (b) prakata; (c) daftar isi; (d) petunjuk penggunaan; (e) kompetensi inti; (f) kompotensi dasar; (g) indikator; (h) isi LKPD, (i) Rangkuman materi (j) evaluasi; dan (k) daftar pustaka. LKPD ini memuat langkah pembelajaran 5M (mengamati, menanya, melakukan eksperimen, menalar dan mengomunikasikan) dan indikator keterampilan berpikir kreatif yang meliputi kepekaan (problem sensitivity), kelancaran (fluency), keluwesan (flexibility), keaslian (originally), dan elaborasi (elaboration).Kata Kunci: LKPD, Keterampian Berpikir Kreatif Siswa, Pendekatan Scientific

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze teacher and students' needs for supporting learning media as students worksheet and to offer students a worksheet scientific approach based on what character students creative thinking skills. This development research uses the development model of Borg and Gall with ten main steps development. But this development research was done until third steps that are product design because of limited time. The result of this preliminary research is physics teacher of SMK Negeri 1 Terusan Nunyai Lampung Tengah stated to really need students worksheet as supporting learning media  in learning activities with percentage 89,29%, 34 students stated to need students worksheet as supporting learning media  in learning activities with percentage 75%, and students worksheet design what might use to building students skills is students worksheet scientific approach based what character students creative thinking skills with 5 steps learning (observe, ask, do experiment, reasoning, communicating) and creative thinking indicator as problem sensitivity, fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pendidik dan peserta didik akan adanya media penunjang kegiatan pembelajaran berupa LKPD, dan menawarkan desain rancangan LKPD yang berbasis scientific approach berkarakter keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan model pengembangan Borg and Gall yang memuat 10 langkah pokok penelitian pengembangan. Namun, pada penelitian pengembangan ini hanya dibatasi sampai langkah ketiga yaitu desain produk karena keterbatasan waktu. Hasil penelitian ini adalah guru Fisika di SMK Negeri 1 Terusan Nunyai Lampung Tengah menyatakan sangat memerlukan adanya LKPD sebagai media penunjang dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dengan presentase 89,29%, sebanyak 34 siswa menyatakan perlu adanya LKPD sebagai media penunjang dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dengan presentase 75%, dan desain LKPD yang mungkin dapat digunakan untuk membangun keterampilan siswa adalah LKPD berbasis pendekatan ilmiah (scientific approach) berkarakter keterampilan berpikir kreatif yang memuat langkah pembelajaran 5M (mengamati, menanya, melakukan eksperimen, menalar, mengomunikasi) dan indikator keterampilan berpikir kreatif yang meliputi kepekaan (problem sensitivity), kelancaran (fluency), keluwesan (flexibility), keaslian (originality), dan elaborasi (elaboration).Kata kunci: keterampilan berpikir kreatif, LKPD, Scientific Approach

Abstract

The aims of this research were to describe the validity, attractiveness, and convenience of student worksheet based on POE equipped with power point for Dynamic Fluid material. The research design refers to the research design by Sugiyono. The data in this study were obtained through observation, interview, questionnaire, and scale of the validity, attractiveness, and convenience of the product.  The results of validity test show that student worksheet is valid on the material aspects and very valid on the design aspect, so student worksheet can be used as an alternative media in learning Dynamic Fluid material. The product trial results show that product is excellent on attractiveness test and good on convenience test. Based on the research results, the development of the student worksheet based on POE for Dynamic Fluid materials has been valid, very interesting, and easy to use.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kevalidan, kemenarikan, dan kemudahan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) berbasis Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) yang dilengkapi media power point pada materi Fluida Dinamis. Desain penelitian yang digunakan mengacu pada desain penelitian oleh Sugiyono. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dan skala penilaian validitas, kemenarikan, dan kemudahan produk. Hasil uji validitas menunjukkan LKS yang dikembangkan valid pada aspek materi dan sangat valid pada aspek desain, sehingga LKS dapat digunakan sebagai media alternatif dalam pembelajaran materi Fluida Dinamis. Hasil uji coba produk menunjukkan kualitas produk sangat baik pada uji kemenarikan dan baik pada uji kemudahan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, LKS berbasis Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) pada materi Fluida Dinamis yang dikembangkan telah valid, sangat menarik, dan mudah digunakan. Kata kunci: LKS, POE, power point

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of interactive BSE utilization as a supplement for blackbody radiation learning in improving student’s critical thinking skills. The methods used were qualitative and quantitative with purposive sampling technique. We applied scientific based learning, where the experimental class used BSE interactive, while the control one used BSE non interactive. The results indicated that the learning used BSE interactive significantly and effectively could improve student's critical thinking skills at the 95% confidence level. Furthermore, there were significant differences in the critical thinking skills improvement between the experimental and control classes at the 95% confidence level with an N-gain value of 0.64 for the class that used interactive BSE and 0.53 for the class that used non-interactive BSE. The effect size value of interactive BSE utilization compared to non-interactive BSE was categorized in a high criteria with a Cohen's value of 1.78. Abstract

This research aims to describe the relationship between student performance in physics learning based practicum on students' collaboration and communication skills of  senior high school students. This study is quasi-experiment research. This study also tested the validity and reliability of the assessment instruments, and for data tested by using correlation test. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect and effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted with WhatsApp Messenger compared to the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model, in terms of the creative thinking skill of high school students in physics learning. This study used quasi experimental model with non-equivalent control group design. The data were analyzed by using independent samples t-test and effect size test. Based on the tests, it can be concluded that there are significant effect on the implementation of PjBL model assisted with WhatsApp Messenger on the creative thinking skill of high students in physics learning and PjBL model assisted with WhatsApp Messenger is more effective than the PBL model. Keywords: creative thinking skills, effect size, PBL, PjBL, WhatsApp Messenger DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v7.n1.201901

Abstract

This research aims to develop a medium of learning physics ludo game of the subject of the circular motion. One of the problems of education is the lack of facilities and infrastructure, so that teachers are required creative in improving the quality of learning in class, such as developing learning media. One interesting learning media and boredom of students in learning activities that game-based learning, such as the application of instructional media ludo game.The method used is research and development are adopting from Borg and Gall which has been modified by Sugiyono of 10 stages to 7 stages. The collection of data used in this study a questionnaire given to subject matter experts, media specialists, classroom teachers and learners class X. The resulting data type is qualitative data and quantitative data to determine the feasibility of product research and development resulted in physics teaching media in the form of the game ludo valid to be used based on those ratings of validator penilaian82,2% gain material experts, media expert validator obtained 93.70% votes, ratings teachers gained 82.76% votes. Assessment test responses of participants trained in small groups obtain a percentage value of 86.69% and uiji field trials of each school (I) 84.50% (II) 81.12%, (III) of 82.67%, which means that the media can be accepted by learners. Keywords: games, Ludo, learning media, physics learning DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v7.n1.201903

Abstract

This study aims to develop instruments measuring the ability to solve physics problems on the subject of high school gas kinetic theory based on Polya stages. This research is a research & development study using the 4D development model. Internal trials were conducted on 2 experts and 1 learning practitioner, while empirical trials were conducted on 81 students. Internal trial data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques, while empirical test results were obtained through test techniques and analyzed following the Rasch Model (RM) using the QUEST program. The results showed that at the internal test stage all items were stated to be very good in measuring the ability of solving physical problems. Empirical test results, as many as 5 out of 5 items were declared fit, with instrument reliability of 0.63 (high category). The level of difficulty of the items varies, some are easy and difficult. And the distinguishing power of all items included in either category. Thus, 5 test instruments developed were stated to meet the requirements and were appropriate to be used to measure the ability of solving physical problems based on Polya's stages.

Abstract

Research has been conducted with the aim to find out an increase in learning outcomes by using the discovery learning model of student learning outcomes. This type of research is quantitative with pre-experimental design research methods. The research design used was one-group pretest-posttest. The study was conducted at Jayapura 11 Public Middle School in the 2018/2019 school year. The sample used in this study was class VIIIC, amounting to 30 students. The analysis technique used is the n-gain analysis. The results of research and data processing obtained that there is an increase in student learning outcomes in class VIIIC 11 State Junior High School Jayapura namely the average n-gain value for the vibration concept of 0.65, the wave concept obtained an average n-gain is 0.67, whereas in the concept transverse waves and longitudinal waves, increasing student learning outcomes obtained an average n-gain of 0.69. Based on the learning outcomes of each concept seen an increase but each of these concepts is in the medium category taught by the discovery learning model. Normalized n-gain results for the whole concept are included in the medium category where n-gain is obtained 0.67.
