Abstract

Teacher professionalism is very important to improve student learning outcomes. For this reason, learning communities exist as a means of developing teacher professionalism. This research aims to analyze the role of learning communities in the professional development of elementary school teachers, identify the obstacles and challenges faced, and find solutions to overcome obstacles and challenges when participating in learning communities. This research method is qualitative case study research. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and participatory observation. The data collection technique used purposive sampling, the researcher chose subjects, namely 3 teachers including the community leader, class teacher, and PAI subject teacher. The data analysis technique uses Milles and Huberman qualitative analysis. Learning communities in elementary schools have an important role in developing teacher professionalism. The novelty of this research is the use of technology, especially the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) to facilitate collaboration and share teacher knowledge in learning communities. As well as using a holistic approach to pedagogical competence and developing soft skills such as leadership and collaboration. The obstacles and challenges found included limited time, school support, and motivation. Solutions to overcome this include institutional support, strategies to increase teacher participation, technology-based implementation approaches, and curriculum development with the community. Therefore, this article makes a significant contribution to efforts to increase the capacity of elementary school teachers through more active participation in learning communities, so that it can become a reference for increasing the effectiveness of the existing education system in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' ability to innovate and creativity through the application of multiliteracy-based PjBL. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) model Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model with the research subject being second semester students of the PGMI study program at the Al-Qur'an University of Science in 2022/2023. The research instruments used were performance tests, observation sheets, questionnaires, and field notes. The results of the performance test show that multiliteracy-based PjBL can increase the ability to innovate by 7.88% and creativity by 6.88%. Students' innovation and creativity were realized in several products that were exhibited in the work title, including renn car, Nusantara quartet, blog, dance creation, vlog of historical places, and so on. The average score of improvement in the ability to innovate between cycles is 1.26 and creativity is 1.65. In addition to improving the ability to innovate and creativity, questionnaire data shows that student enthusiasm in attending lectures has also increased. As many as 58% of students felt enthusiastic during the lecture by applying multiliteration-based PjBL. Based on the results of observations and field notes, intensive guidance during project work is very helpful for students in expressing ideas and more creative problem solving. The integration of PjBL syntax and literacy elements can stimulate students to think divergently while improving their ability to present their work attractively. This study aims to determine the improvement of students' ability to innovate and creativity through the application of multiliteracy-based PjBL. Abstract

This research aimed to develop fourth-grade elementary school students’ integration of learning with problem-based learning and the teachings of Ki Hadjar Dewantara Tri-N (Niteni, Nirokke, Nambahi). This research is research and development with the PPE development model which consists of three stages, namely Planning (Planning), Production (Product Preparation), and Evaluation (Evaluation). This research was conducted at Ngentak Sanden Elementary School, Bantul Regency in Grade IV mathematics subjects. The data collection instrument uses an assessment sheet of mathematics teaching modules that have been validated by experts (expert judgment). The data collection technique in this study used product validity tests. The initial step of this research is to convert qualitative data from the results of expert assessment, material and media into quantitative data forms. The next step is to calculate the actual score and the average of the actual score. Quantitative data in the form of average actual scores are then converted into qualitative data using the Likert scale. The results of validation by material and media experts, the module is said to be valid with an average actual score of 98.5 with good criteria and 51.7 with Very Good criteria. The results of this study are expected to provide benefits for students in learning to improve mathematical reasoning. This research was successfully carried out by designing and developing a mathematics teaching module with a problem-based learning model based on Tri-N (Niteni, Nirokke, Nambahi) in a Grade IV Elementary School.

Abstract

The previous study shows teachers' pedagogical competence in making lesson plans is still low, especially in making Merdeka Curriculum lesson plans. The training that has been developed is inadequate for this need. This study aims to develop a peer tutoring-based training design to improve teachers' pedagogical skills in making Merdeka Curriculum lesson plans. The type of research used in this research is R&D and the product was developed by Dick & Carey model. The method used in this research is a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The research subjects were 16 fifth-grade teachers in Pabelan District, Semarang Regency. Data collection techniques included open-ended questionnaires, pretest, and posttest instruments. Quantitative data analysis used category description and the Wilcoxon test. The finding of research results showed that peer tutoring-based training design that has been developed is conducted with guidance in small groups, in contrast to previous training that was conducted in a classical. This design has been validated by the experts and has been revised based on their suggestions. The product trial results show the effectiveness of peer tutoring training design in improving teachers’ pedagogical competence in making Merdeka Curriculum lesson plans. Therefore, this training design could be used in the next product trial. It can also be applied to teacher training programs to improve teacher's ability to make lesson plans.

Abstract

Science learning is currently considered less interesting so students are less enthusiastic about participating in learning and this affects their learning outcomes. This research aims to compare the cognitive learning outcomes of students who use the Snowball Throwing and Jigsaw learning models. The research used quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design. The research was carried out at SDN Kayen Kidul in class V with 32 students divided into 2 groups. This research took samples using saturated sampling techniques. Research data was obtained through test instruments. The data was then analyzed using the Independent Sample T Test and the N Gain Score Test. Based on the Independent Sample T-Test, the significance value was 0.512, meaning that there was no significant difference in the learning outcomes of students who used the Snowball Throwing and Jigsaw models. Based on the N Gain Score test, it is known that the Snowball Throwing model is more effective than the Jigsaw model, because the N Gain Score value for the Snowball Throwing class is greater than 0.6465, compared to the value for the Jigsaw class 0.5835. Based on the two test results above, it is known that the Snowball Throwing learning model is more effective in influencing student learning outcomes compared to the Jigsaw learning model on the main subject of human blood circulation in elementary schools, as well as being a novelty in this research. The results of this research can serve as guidance and recommendations in developing strategies or policies in relevant fields.

Abstract

Competence must be possessed by a teacher whose main task is to transfer knowledge to students. There are four competencies that every teacher must have, namely, pedagogic competence, personality competence, social competence, and professional competence. Focusing on the pedagogical competence of teachers has been considered less than optimal. The research conducted used the type of development research (R&D). Claroline-based training design instruments to improve teachers' pedagogic competence in developing learning media in the validity test by media experts obtained a score of 90.7%, which was included in the very high category. In comparison, material experts obtained a score of 79.9%, which was included in the high category, and finally, training design experts obtained a score of 61.3%, which was included in the high category. According to the validity results of the three experts, the Claroline-based training design instrument to improve teachers' pedagogical competence in developing learning media is suitable for use.

Abstract

Solid motivation has a positive impact on learning achievement and student attainment. This study aimed to determine the impact of cooperative learning on learning motivation of grade IV students in Mojokerto, involving 72 elementary school students. The research method used was quantitative using Comparison-Group Design. The results showed significantly higher student learning motivation in the experimental group than in the control group. Cooperative learning was applied for the experimental group, while lecture-based teaching was used in the control group. Implications for innovation in teaching methods and further research are suggested to further popularize cooperative learning for better learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of behavioristic learning theory in the context of 21st-century basic education in Indonesia. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to understand how behavioristic principles can be integrated into modern teaching practice from 10 reputable journals (Scopus and Sinta), the research stages included planning, conducting, and reporting. Research result in this study suggests that the implementation of behavioristic theory requires a good classroom environment and the use of reward and punishment schemes to shape student behavior. Teachers are expected to be actively involved in the learning process, provide constructive criticism, and conduct an initial analysis of students' ability to design appropriate lesson plans. This research offers novelty in integrating behavioristic theory into modern basic education in Indonesia and makes practical contributions for teachers and implications for the education system to achieve national education goals. This research supports developing quality and sustainable human resources towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.

Abstract

The lack of ability of teachers to develop technology-based learning media and low interaction with learning tasks negatively affect students' learning outcomes. The study aims to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of a web-based Fiborampae (Flip Book Food Chain in Ecosystems) course on IPAS material. The research method used is the RnD model Borg and Gall which consists of several stages, namely: potential and problems;  data collection; product design; design validation; design revision; product trials; product revision; trial use in which the data collection methods include questionnaires and test. Based on the validation team's assessment, Fiborampae media is included in the most appropriate category, which is also a finding in this research. The evaluation results for the content were 93%, and the media factor was 90.8%. The results of the N-Gain test on the pre-and post-test values showed a mean difference of 0.739 under a moderate criterion and an effectiveness value of 73.95 under a highly effective definition. Meanwhile, the reference category reached a value of 0.425 under moderate criteria and had an efficiency of 42.35 under the low-efficiency definition. The interpretation of the data shows that classrooms using Fiborampae media achieve higher learning outcomes with more effective standards. The implications of this research are expected to apply this medium to simpler devices with a simple and attractive appearance that can be used in various teaching situations and support character development within the new curriculum.

Abstract

In elementary schools, the lack of utilization of learning media and restricted learning tools causes children to become bored and have difficulties grasping the curriculum. This project aims to create problem-based e-comics that are valid, practical, and useful for educational purposes. This research and development project used the ADDIE development paradigm, which includes stages such as analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Of all the stages completed, the problem-based e-comic generated fits the valid requirements, with a validity percentage of 87% falling into the category of highly viable. Problem-based e-comics also meet practical standards, with instructor response questionnaire analysis yielding an 89% score and student answer questionnaires yielding a 100% score, indicating they are efficiently practical. A learning with problem-based e-comic media is effective for class student learning accomplishment IV SDN-04. Mejobo, the t-test results yielded a 0.00 significant value, indicating a difference in student learning achievement before and after learning using problem-based e-comics. The results of the t-test were strengthened by the results of the normalized gain test, which yielded a value of 0, 63, which falls into the medium group. It is intended that the production of problem-based e-comics will expand the repertory of intellectual property while also serving as a medium and learning resource for elementary school pupils.
