Abstract

Differentiated learning is a learning strategy that emphasizes the importance of the process of adjusting learning strategies that can meet the needs of each student with various ability backgrounds, especially in Elementary Schools. Differentiated learning recognizes that each student has a different learning style, learning speed, and interests. At the elementary school level, where students are actively developing their various abilities and potentials, this approach is very important to implement so that it can ensure that each student can learn optimally and achieve their best potential. This study aims to review various existing literature on the effect of implementing differentiated learning in elementary schools for the 2020-2024 period by analyzing 10 articles that have been published in relevant journals using Harzing's Publish or Perish and Google Scholar applications. Each article was analyzed and the results of the analysis were arranged in a table that included the title, author's name, year of publication, and research findings. The results of the analysis showed that differentiated learning was able to increase participation motivation and student learning outcomes with quite significant results compared to learning with conventional methods. This can be seen from several studies that show an increase in cognitive abilities and student learning outcomes. This study recommends ongoing training for teachers related to the implementation of differentiated learning with effective and efficient time management, as well as collaboration between all parties such as parents and learning communities, as well as the use of technology as an integral part of efforts to create a more inclusive and student-centered learning environment, especially in elementary schools.

Abstract

Students tend to use fewer thinking activities in learning. Consequently, learning is often dominated by conventional learning models. In addition, learning only uses available textbooks and causes students to be less involved in learning. Students mostly take the role of listeners, take notes on what the teacher says, and work on the questions given according to the examples. This study aimed to develop textbooks based on the Kurikulum Merdeka that can improve the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The method used in this study is the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection techniques used are observation, testing, and documentation. This study uses teaching module validation instruments, question validation, and textbook feasibility tests. The results of the study show that the use of this textbook can have a positive impact on students' critical thinking skills significantly, as well as provide positive feedback from teachers and students on the learning process as evidenced by the t count value of 8.513> t table 1.724. It is hoped that this research can contribute to learning in elementary schools and be a reference for the development of other teaching materials in the Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the STEM-based Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model in enhancing elementary school students' understanding of science concepts. The research employed an experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group approach. The sample was selected through cluster random sampling. The research instrument consisted of a multiple-choice test designed to assess students' conceptual understanding of science, which was validated through tests of validity, reliability, item discrimination, and difficulty level. The results of the pretest homogeneity test confirmed that the initial abilities of both the experimental and control groups were equivalent, indicating that any observed differences in posttest scores could be attributed to the intervention. Further prerequisite testing showed that the posttest data were normally distributed and homogeneous, justifying the use of a parametric pooled-variance t-test. The analysis yielded a tcount of 5.38, which exceeded the ttable value of 1.99 at the 5% significance level, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H₀) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ). These findings demonstrate that the implementation of the STEM-based STAD model significantly improves students' conceptual understanding of science. Therefore, this instructional model can be considered an effective pedagogical strategy for enhancing the quality of science education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Numeracy skills are a foundational component of primary education; however, national assessments indicate that Indonesian students' numeracy proficiency remains suboptimal. One often-overlooked factor in the development of numeracy learning materials is the role of parenting styles—particularly democratic parenting—which supports children’s autonomy and active participation in the learning process. This study aims to develop a numeracy activity book titled Numeraktif, grounded in the principles of democratic parenting, to enhance numeracy learning among primary school pupils. The research adopts a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, utilizing a simplified version of the Borg and Gall model, encompassing seven stages: preliminary study, planning, product draft development, expert validation, revision, limited trials, and final revision. Content and media experts conducted the validation process, while practicality and effectiveness were assessed through trials involving students, teachers, and parents. The validation results demonstrated a high level of feasibility, with an average score of 4.6. The practicality test yielded a score of 4.3, indicating the material’s usability and engagement value. Furthermore, the effectiveness test revealed a mastery level of 90%, underscoring the product's significant impact on improving students' numeracy skills. These results affirm that the Numeraktif activity book is both pedagogically sound and responsive to learners' psychosocial needs, presenting a promising and innovative approach to numeracy education in Indonesian primary schools.
