Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dua pendekatan yaitu saintifik dan Open-ended terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan uji komparasi t setelah melalui uji prasyarat yang meliputi uji normalitas dan homogenitas. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu kelas VIII G dan H pada SMP Negeri 1 Kefamenanu. Sebelum diterapkan kedua pendekatan, para siswa diberikan tes awal literasi dan setelah diterapkan kedua pendekatan diberikan tes akhir literasi. Pada hasil penelitian dengan pengujian inferensial diperoleh bahwa pengaruh penerapan pendekatan saintifik terhadap kemampuan literasi sebesar 17,1% dan pengaruh pendekatan open-endeed sebesar 11,6%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua pendekatan ini sama-sama memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan literasi matematika.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of students' learning motivation and the low of high school students’ mathematical communication skills in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning motivation on the high school students’ mathematical communication skills in learning mathematics with the Brain-Based Learning model. This research is mixed-method research with concurrent triangulation strategies. The population in this study were all class XI in SMA 1 Rengasdengklok on Kabupaten Karawang and the sample was one class. Data was collected by providing tests, observations, questionnaires, and interviews. The test used is a description test, while the motivation scale uses a Likert Scale. The data was analyzed by normality test and simple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of learning motivation on mathematical communication skills in the application of the Brain-Based Learning model with a percentage of 56.8%.

Abstract

Dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika, berpikir inkuiri pada model pembelajaran inkuiri berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) siswa. Oleh sebab itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir inkuiri siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah HOTS yang diadaptasi dari soal PISA dan ditinjau dari tingkat kognitif siswa. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sedangkan teknik penentuan subjek menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan mengambil 3 subjek yang terdiri dari subjek yang memiliki tingkat kognitif tinggi, sedang, dan rendah berdasarkan nilai rapor siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Adapun triangulasi yang digunakan untuk menguji keabsahan data adalah triangulasi metode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan. Subjek 1 yang memiliki kognitif tinggi memenuhi semua indikator yakni mengamati, menyelidiki, menemukan sifat, mengeneralisasi serta menemukan hubungan secara detail dan sistematis dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang diberikan. Subjek 2 yang memiliki kognitif sedang mengalami kesulitan dalam menemukan hasil dari strategi yang diterapkan. Sedangkan Subjek 3 yang memiliki kognitif rendah menyelesaikan masalah dengan alur penyelesaian yang berbedaa dari subjek lainnya, yaitu mengamati objek, menyelidiki, menyusun generalisasi, menemukan sifat, lalu menemukan hubungan. Sedangkan pada sisi proses, ke-3 subjek memiliki ciri khas masing-masing dalam mendekati masalah. In solving math problems, inquiry thinking in the inquiry learning model plays an important role in improving students' high-level thinking skills (HOTS). Therefore, this study aims to describe the student's inquiry thinking process in solving HOTS problems adapted from PISA questions and reviewed from the student's cognitive level. The method used in this study is descriptive with a qualitative approach. As for the subject determination technique, researchers used purposive sampling techniques by taking 3 subjects consisting of subjects with high, medium, and low cognitive value based on student report scores. Data collection techniques are performed with tests, interviews, and documentation. The triangulation used by researchers to test the validity of data is the method triangulation. The results showed highly cognitive S1 meets all indicators: observing, investigating, discovering traits, generalizing and finding relationships in detail and systematically in solving given problems. S2 who have cognitive difficulties in finding the results of the strategies applied. Meanwhile, S3, which has low cognitive solving problems with different settlement flows than other subjects, is observing objects, investigating, generalizing, discovering traits, and then finding relationships. While on the process side, all 3 subjects have their own characteristics in approaching the problem.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi digital mahasiswa pada matakuliah aljabar linier dengan menggunakan pembelajaran online selama pandemi Covid-19. Responden penelitian ini berasal dari mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang berjumlah 30. Metode penelitian yang digunakan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan instrumen berupa angket literasi digital dengan menggunakan skala likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa literasi digital mahasiswa memiliki rata-rata skor 75, 20 dengan kategori tinggi dengan skor rata-rata indikator kemampuan mengoperasikan komputer 82.00, kemampuan membangun informasi 70.00, memanfaatkan akses internet 72.00, menyajikan informasi 74.00, serta kemampuan berkomunikasi dan publikasi 78.00. Kata kunci: Aljabar Linier; Covid-19; Literasi Digital AbstractThe purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the ability of students' digital literacy in linear algebraic courses using online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Respondents to this study came from students of mathematics education program University of Muhammadiyah Tangerang numbered 30. The research method used qualitative descriptive, with instruments in the form of digital literacy questionnaires using a likert scale. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning through video presentations and Whatsapp Group (WAG) on the topic of vector space during the Covid-19 pandemic. The learning system is carried out online using videos developed by researchers and shared via WAG. This research is action research conducted in two cycles with each cycle consisting of four meetings. The subjects of this research were 14-second semester students in the Mathematics Education Study Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar who took Linear Algebra courses. The data collected in this study were the researcher's actions, the results of the evaluation, and student responses to the video presentation and WAG applied by the researcher. The results of this study indicate that the application of video presentations and WAG on the topic of vector space during the Covid-19 pandemic was classified as effective, because the average student score increased 12.9% and 1.3% respectively with the class average before the action 68, after the action in cycle I 76.79 and after the action in cycle II 77.79. Student responses regarding the application of video presentations and WAG were very positive. This learning strategy can be used as a solution during the Covid-19 pandemic, which requires students and lecturers to carry out the teaching and learning process from home.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a mobile learning application as a learning exercise for students in Mathematics learning. The research method used was the Research and Development (R&D) with a Four-D (4D) development model. This study utilized a questionnaire to analyze students’ needs for mobile learning applications in Mathematics learning, which was filled out by 101 students. The analysis was performed using the Rasch Model. The results of the analysis show that students need applications to help the learning process such as collecting assignments that can be done anywhere and at any time as well as features equipped with mathematical symbols to smooth the discussion with teachers and classmates. Therefore, the design of the mobile learning application developed has a database that is divided into 2 local hosts, including those for teachers and students. The database can connect teachers and students, and students can complete assignments anytime and anywhere, and write mathematical symbols. Based on the results of the study, the Cadudasa mobile learning application received a feasibility assessment by media experts with a percentage of 84% in the good category. Student responses to the Cadudasa mobile learning application were 86% in the very good categories. The results of this study indicate that the Cadudasa mobile learning application is considered appropriate to being used as a medium of learning in schools Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi mobile learning sebagai learning exercise bagi siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan Four-D (4D). Penelitian ini menggunakan angket analisis kebutuhan siswa terhadap aplikasi mobile learning dalam pembelajaran matematika dimana total siswa yang mengisi angket sebanyak 101 orang. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rasch Model. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa siswa membutuhkan aplikasi yang dapat membantu proses pembelajaran seperti pengumpulan tugas yang dapat dilakukan dimanapun dan kapanpun serta adanya fitur simbol-simbol matematika yang memudahkan untuk berdiskusi dengan guru dan teman sekelasnya. Sehingga, desain aplikasi mobile learning yang dikembangkan memiliki database yang dibagi menjadi 2 localhost yaitu untuk guru dan siswa, database tersebut dapat terkoneksi anatara guru dan siswa, kemudian siswa dapat menyelesaikan tugas dengan waktu kapanpun dan dimanapun, dan dapat menuliskan simbol-simbol matematika. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, aplikasi mobile learning Cadudasa mendapatkan penilaian kelayakan oleh ahli media dengan persentase 84% dengan kategori baik. Respon siswa terhadap aplikasi mobile learning Cadudasa mendapatkan hasil 86% dengan kategori sangat baik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa aplikasi mobile learning Cadudasa dinyatakan layak untuk dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran di sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa berdasarkan gaya kognitif reflektif siswa. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini meliputi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 20 Kota Jambi tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Teknik pengambilan subjek menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua siswa yang mewakili gaya kognitif reflektif dan sesuai dengan pertimbangan guru. Materi tes uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan koneksi matematis adalah materi yang telah dipelajari siswa yaitu materi persamaan linear dua variabel. Intrumen tes kemampuan koneksi matematis terdiri dari tiga butir soal yang mana setiap satu soal memuat satu indikator. Intrumen tes untuk mengukur gaya kognitif reflektif siswa menggunakan Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT) yang dicetuskan oleh Jerome Kagan. Instrumen MFFT pada penelitian ini mengadopsi dari Warli (2010). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa ditinjau dari gaya kognitif reflektif siswa dalam kategori baik. Siswa telah memenuhi paling sedikit dua indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis dari pencapain tiga indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis yang harus dipenuhi yaitu siswa dapat menghubungkan konsep-konsep antar topik matematika lainnya dan menghubungkan konsep matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.Kata kunci: Gaya kognitif reflektif; kemampuan koneksi matematis; matematika. Abstract This research aims to describe students' mathematical connection ability based on their reflective cognitive style. This is a qualitative descriptive research involved eighth graders of State Junior High School of 20 Jambi in the academic year of 2020/2021. The subject was two students determined using purposive sampling technique who represented reflective cognitive style and were in accordance with the teacher's considerations. The essay test material to measure the mathematical connection ability is those that students had learned which are the two-variable linear equation material.The mathematical connection ability test instrument consists of three items, each of which contains one indicator. The test instrument to measure students' reflective cognitive style was the Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT) invented by Jerome Kagan. The MFFT instrument in this study was adopted from Warli (2010). The result showed that students’ mathematical connection ability viewed from students’ reflective cognitive style was in the good category.  Students have fulfilled at least two out of three mathematical connection ability indicators: students were able to connect certain topics and other topics. and connect mathematical concept into daily life.  Keywords: Mathematics; mathematical connective ability; reflective cognitive style.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses translasi representasi siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika berorientasi pada high order thinking skills (HOTS). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 26 siswa kelas XI di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 4 Metro. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan wawancara. Siswa menyelesaikan tes sambil mengungkapkan secara lisan apa yang mereka pikirkan (think aloud), kemudian dilakukan wawancara terkait dengan hasil pekerjaan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika berorientasi pada HOTS dilakukan melalui dua proses translasi yaitu translasi representasi verbal ke grafik (gambar) kemudian ke simbolik. Proses translasi representasi tersebut dilakukan melalui tahap unpacking the source, preliminary coordination, constructing the target, dan determining equivalence. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan guru sebagai bahan pertimbangan untuk menyusun desain pembelajaran yang tepat khususnya pada soal pembelajaran yang mendorong siswa melakukan HOTS. Sehingga guru dapat mengoptimalkan berpikir siswa dan meminimalkan kesulitan siswa dalam proses translasi representasi. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat memeriksa lebih mendalam karakteristik tiap tahapan translasi representasi. This study aims to describe the process of translating students' representations in solving mathematical problems oriented to HOTS. This research is a qualitative research. The subjects of this study were students of class XI at Metro 4 Public Middle School. Data collection techniques are done through tests and interviews. Students complete the test while verbally expressing what they think (think aloud). Then the researchers conducted interviews related to the results of student work. The results showed that students in solving mathematical problems oriented to HOTS were carried out through two translation processes, namely the translation of verbal representations into graphs (pictures) then to symbolic. The translation translation process is carried out through the stages of unpacking the source, preliminary coordination, constructing the target, and determining equivalence. The results of this study are expected to be used by teachers as consideration for developing appropriate learning designs, especially on learning problems that encourage students to do HOTS. So the teacher can optimize student thinking and minimize student difficulties in the process of translational representation. Future studies can examine in more depth the characteristics of each translation translation stage.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar matematika siswa pada materi SPLDV dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran RME, PBL dan konvensional pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Ambon. Populasi pada penelitian ini sebanyak 6 kelas dengan sampel adalah 3 kelas yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Tiga kelas yang terpilih adalah kelas VIII3, VIII5 dan VIII6. Kelas VIII3 menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL, kelas VIII5 menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dan kelas VIII6 menggunakan model pembelajaran RME. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan N-Gain untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar, selanjutnya digunakan uji analisis variansi satu arah (One Way ANOVA) untuk menguji perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar. Berdasarkan pada hasil analisis data maka diperoleh kesimpulan, 1) terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran RME, PBL dan Konvensional, 2) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran RME, PBL dan konvensional. Hal ini terlihat pada nilai sig kelas RME terhadap kelas konvensional yaitu 0,00 < 0,05 (nilai α), sehingga terdapat perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar antara kelas RME dan kelas konvensional. Selanjutnya nilai sig RME terhadap PBL yaitu 0,012 < 0,05 (nilai α), sehingga terdapat perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar antara kelas RME dan kelas PBL. Sedangkan nilai Sig kelas PBL terhadap kelas konvensional yaitu 0,003 < 0,05 (nilai α), sehingga terdapat perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar antara model pembelajaran PBL dan model pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of handouts based on Guided Note Taking on the system material of three-variable linear equations and to determine the quality of handouts in terms of validity and practicality. This research is a development research that refers to the 4D development model namely define, design, develop, disseminate. The subjects in this study were 2 teachers and 5 students of SMA Negeri 1 Buay Bahuga. The instruments used to measure the quality of the handouts developed included expert questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires. Expert questionnaires were used to measure the validity of the handouts, while teacher and student response questionnaires were used to measure the practicality of the handouts. The research product was a handout based on Guided Note Taking on the material of the system of linear equations of three variables for class X SMA. The results showed that from the aspect of validity it was included in the valid category with an average score of 75 based on the assessment of two expert lecturers (material, design and language experts); of the two teachers' responses with an average of 42.5 were in the good category and the student responses with an average of 41.8 were in the good category so that the practicality aspect was categorized as practical based on the results of the handout user's response. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the handout based on guidance notes on the material for the three-variable linear equation system developed is valid and can be used practically in learning.
