Abstract

Biofortification is a process of increasing the nutritional content of agricultural commodities to meet the preferences of consumers who in recent years have begun to tend to have a healthy lifestyle. Specialty rice can include aromatic rice, sticky rice, pigmented rice and nutritious rice (rice containing zinc, iron or high anthocyanin). The limited superior varieties of upland rice causes the need to increase genetic diversity through the formation of based populations with conventional crossing. The hybridization block and F1 planting were conducted at MT 1 2019 in Muara Experimental Station-ICRR, Bogor. Crossing parents consist of advanced lines, introduced lines, local varieties and national varieties. Development of upland rice based population in MT 1 2019 resulted 64 crossbreeding combinations and 41 crossbreeding combinations among them aimed at obtaining special quality upland rice consisting of 24 single crosses, eight back crosses, seven top crosses and two double crosses. Whereas for F1 planting, upland rice for MT 1 2019 consisted of 129 numbers and 53 of them aimed at good quality rice. Of the 53 F1 numbers, 42 numbers were selected, which continued to become the bastar population (F2) in MT 2 2019 with the modification-bulk selection method.

Abstract

Merauke is one of the regencies in Papua Province which is also affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is reinforced by the implementation of a lockdown or restrictions on access to and from the area by land, air and sea. The application of restrictions on entry and exit in the Merauke regency is quite long in 2020, which is for approximately two months. This study aims to compare the income of fishermen before the COVID-19 pandemic and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Merauke Regency, as well as to examine the problems faced by fishermen during the COVID-19 pandemic in Merauke Regency. This research was conducted from June to July 20121 with the research locations being Lampu Satu beach in Samkai village, Merauke district and Kumbe beach in Kumbe village, Malind district. These two locations were chosen because they are the centers of the largest fishing population in Merauke Regency. Primary data collection using interview techniques, to 40 respondents who were selected by purposive sampling. Each of the 20 respondents in Lampu Satu waters in Samkai sub-district, Merauke district and 20 respondents in Kumbe waters in Kumbe village, Malind district. The research data was analyzed statistically by looking at the trend and time series of fishermen's income in Merauke Regency. Based on the results of research and discussion, it was concluded that the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on the income of fishermen in Merauke Regency, both for ship owners, captains/captains, crew members (ABK) and for collectors/collectors of the catch. The impact given is in the form of a decrease in income obtained by fishermen by 58%. The decline in income was caused by constraints in marketing the main catch, namely fish bubbles which became an export commodity abroad during the total lockdown of airport and port access in Papua Province from March to June 2020. The decline in income was also caused by the increase in the number of operational costs in activities. arrests such as the cost of vitamins, medicines, masks and medical tests if needed.

Abstract

The prospect of increasing productivity of drylands as a food provider is very promising, especially for maize production, which plays an equally important role as a food crop compared to rice. However, in general, the quality of drylands in Indonesia is relatively low. This study aims to further investigate the application of dolomite combined with inorganic fertilizers such as rock phosphate, K and N fertilizers to improve the quality of dry soil, which has the potential to increase maize productivity. The research was conducted at the Seasonal Crop Field of Lampung State Polytechnic from October to December 2022. The study used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with 6 treatments and 6 replications. The treatments tested included: k0: without fertilizer; k1: KCl fertilizer dose of 50 kg/ha; k2: KCl fertilizer dose of 100 kg/ha; k3: KCl fertilizer dose of 150 kg/ha; n1: Urea fertilizer dose of 200 kg/ha; n2: Urea fertilizer dose of 250 kg/ha. The results of the study showed that the treatment of KCl fertilizer dose of 100 kg/ha significantly showed the best response on the average parameter of Wet Grain Weight per Cob, Dry Grain Weight per Cob, and Weight per Cob Without Corn Husk of Corn Plants

Abstract

Luasnya lahan sawah tadah hujan di Kabupaten Merauke membuat tingginya potensi waktu panen pada saat musim hujan. Peningkatan kualitas hasil panen padi dapat dilakukan melalui pengolahan pasca panen seperti pengeringan dan penyimpanan yang benar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk merancangbangun dan melakukan uji kinerja alat pengering biji-bijian sistem bed dryer dengan tungku pemanas tak langsung. Pembuatan alat pengering biji-bijian sistem bed dryer dengan kapasitas menengah dapat membantu petani lokal untuk memperbaiki kualitas hasil produksi panennya. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode rekayasa melalui beberapa tahap yaitu perancangan alat pengering, rancangan fungsional, rancangan struktural, dan uji kinerja. Alat pengering biji-bijin sistem bed dryer memiliki dimensi bak penampung 240 cm x 360 cm x 120 cm dengan daya tampung 2000 kg; diameter kipas 60 cm; temperatur maksimal ruang angin/ruang bertekanan 70°C; kecepatan angin maksimal tanpa gabah 10 m/s sedangkan dengan gabah 7 m/s; daya motor penggerak dinamo single phase 3 kW; volume pemakaian bahan bahan bakar (kayu) sebanyak 1,1 m3. Lama waktu pengeringan berkisar pada 20 jam, dengan kadar air akhir gabah mencapai 12,2 %. Teknologi tungku pemanas sistem tak langsung yang berfungsi sebagai sumber panas dari alat pengering ini mempunyai peran yang sangat penting terhadap kualitas hasil pengeringan, lama waktu pengeringan serta pengoperasionalannya bernilai ekonomis dibandingkan dengan tungku pemanas konvensional lainnya.

Abstract

Ubi jalar (Ipomea batatas L.) merupakan tanaman menjalar yang umumnya masyarakat di Kabupaten Merauke menyebutnya ‘petatas’. Ubi jalar adalah komoditas tanaman pangan yang telah lama ada dan dibudidayakan serta dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat lokal yang berada di Kabupaten Merauke. Oleh karena itu banyak Wanita Papua yang menanam dan menjual ubi jalar untuk membantu meningkatkan perekonomian dalam keluarganya. Usaha berdagang umbi-umbian ini banyak dilakukan oleh wanita Papua di Kabupaten Merauke. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Pasar Wamanggu dan Pasar Mopah Baru Distrik Merauke, Kabupaten Merauke. Lokasi penelitian dipilih secara sengaja (purposive) yaitu dua pasar besar yang terdapat di Distrik Merauke. Sampel penelitian ini adalah sebesar 33 pedagang ubi jalar. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan teknik analisis pendapatan dan kontribusi yang diberikan oleh pedagang ubi jalar wanita Papua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahwa sebagian besar wanita Papua pedagang ubi jalar mempunyai kontribusi pada pendapatan keluarga, melalui berjualan ubi jalar di Pasar. Pendapatan yang diperoleh dari hasil berdagang umbi-umbian sebagian besar digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan keluarga dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga.

Abstract

In this study, Sembilang fish (Plotosus canius) were studied to determine catches, gonadal maturity levels, gonadal maturity index, and fecundity in Angger Permegi Swamp. Fish sampling was carried out between September and October 2022, using gill nets with a 3 cm mesh at two research stations. The results showed that during the study period, a total catch of Sembilang fish was obtained as many as 10 fish, consisting of 6 males and 4 females. The gonad maturation stage (GMS) in Sembilang female fish was identified as GMS III and IV in September and October. Meanwhile, male Sembilang fish had GMS I, II, and III in September, and GMS III in October. The fertility of Sembilang fish ranged from 313,164 to 491,916 eggs. This was observed in fish with total lengths ranging from 30 to 44 cm and total weights ranging from 228.12 grams to 434.08 grams.

Abstract

Horticulture is one of the agricultural sub-sectors with excellent potential to develop in Indonesia. Horticulture includes vegetables, fruits, medicinal plants, and ornamental plants. Along with the development of agricultural technology, horticultural crops can be cultivated with a hydroponic system. The hydroponic system or soilless culture is a way of cultivating plants using a solution medium. Hydroponic systems are proliferating for cultivating horticultural vegetables due to the increasing demand for quality vegetables. Vegetables cultivated using the hydroponic system are fresher and cleaner, so they have better quality than conventional vegetables. The reason is that plant roots are not in direct contact with the soil. One of the agribusiness companies that cultivate vegetables with a hydroponic system is Wangunsari Farm Hydroponics (WFH). WFH is in Lembang District, West Bandung Regency, West Java Province. WFH plans to cultivate Redoakleaf Lettuce vegetables and establish a Kale Crunch business to increase income. This study aims to analyze the financial aspects of cultivating RedOakleaf Lettuce and establishing a Kale Crunch business, and determining which business is a priority to be carried out first. The analytical method used is descriptive graphics, quantitative tabulation, and counting Net Present Value (NPV), Gross B/C, Net B/C, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period. Based on the financial feasibility calculations, it is concluded that both businesses are feasible for increasing WFH income. However, the Kale Crunch business has become a priority before cultivating the Red Oakleaf Lettuce vegetable because it has a value NPV IDR 27,149,410, Net B/C 4.1, Gross B/C>1 1.1, IRR>DR is 95% where DR is 3.5% and the payback period is two years where the business life is five years. Horticultural agribusiness supports the eighth Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

Increasing the productivity of rice plants requires the role of fertilizer, one of which is lowland rice farmers who believe that fertilizer is the most important key factor for increasing rice production. The government's role is to provide subsidized fertilizers for the agricultural sector. Farmer groups were formed to solve problems faced by farmers that cannot be solved individually. The role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizers is to facilitate the distribution of subsidized fertilizers into the hands of farmers. Subsidized fertilizers are only intended for farmers who join farmer groups, this is in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture Number 47 of 2017 concerning the designation and highest retail price (HET) of subsidized fertilizers. This study aims to analyze the role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizers. The research method uses the Descriptive Analysis method, which is to explain and describe the phenomena that occur in the research area and to analyze the role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizer. The results of this study are that the role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizers is included in the high category with a total score of 2.9 in the role category. Farmer groups play an important role in improving farmer performance with changes in farmers towards a better way of managing lowland rice farming as indicated by the existence of learning classes that increase farmer knowledge, a vehicle for cooperation that builds cooperation in the distribution of subsidized fertilizers and production units helping farmers with get subsidized fertilizer.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to increase the nutritional value of purple sweet potato flour by fermentation method using Rhizopus oryzae mold. The research method used a factorial Randomized Group Design with factors of fermentation time (48 hours, 72 hours and 96 hours) and the amount of Rhizopus oryzae mold (20gram, 30gram and 40gram). The number of treatments was 9 treatments, namely T1N1 (48 hours: 20 grams of yeast), T1N2 (48 hours: 30 grams of yeast), T1N3 (48 hours: 40 grams of yeast), T2N1 (72 hours: 20 grams yeast), T2N2 (72 hours: 30 grams yeast), T2N3 (72 hours with 40 grams yeast), T3N1 (96 hours: 20 grams yeast), T3N2 (96 hours: 30 grams yeast) and T3N3 (96 hours: 40 grams yeast). Parameters observed were carbohydrate, protein, fat and fiber content. Data were tested with ANOVA and BNJ further test at the 5% level. The results showed that fermentation time and the amount of yeast given had an influence in each treatment. The best carbohydrate content was found in the T1N2 treatment 86.73%, the best protein content was found in the T3N3 treatment 18.835%, the best fat content was found in the T1N1 treatment 0.25% and the best fiber content was found in the T1N1 treatment 24.71%. Fermentation time and the amount of yeast had a significant effect on protein and fiber content but no significant effect on carbohydrate and fat content. The best treatment of 9 treatments for carbohydrate, protein, fat and fiber content was found in the T1N1 treatment with a treatment value of 0.727. The best fermentation treatment on fermented purple sweet potato flour can be used as an ingredient for making toddler snacks as a prevention of stunting and adjusted to the MP-ASI biscuit standard SNI 01-7111.2-2005.

Abstract

Permintaan masyarakat Indonesia terhadap buah lokal semakin meningkat seiring meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya nutrisi buah bagi Kesehatan. Pisang kepok (Musa paradisiaca L.) adalah salah satu jenis pisang yang populer dan digemari masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku pembelian dan sikap konsumen buah pisang kepok di Kota Medan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei pada salah satu pasar tradisional terbesar di Kota Medan. Jumlah sampel konsumen sebanyak 42 konsumen yang ditentukan melalui purposive sampling. Metode analisis data yang digunakan yakni analisis deskriptif dan multiatribut Fishbein. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku pembelian konsumen buah pisang kepok di Kota Medan berupa alasan pembelian untuk manfaat kesehatan, alasan berbelanja di pasar tradisional karena harga relatif murah, frekuensi pembelian setiap bulan tidak menentu, pembelian sebanyak 1 sisir disetiap pembeliannya, tujuan pembelian untuk dikonsumsi sendiri, rata-rata pengeluaran konsumen untuk membeli buah pisang kepok Rp.70.001–Rp 90.000 dalam sebulan. Hasil multiatribut Fishbein, sikap konsumen yakni konsumen sangat menyukai atribut harga buah pisang kepok dengan nilai sebesar 12,39 (sangat positif).
