Abstract

Fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 02 Pandean have poor learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). This is due to a teacher-centered learning approach, the use of ineffective lecture methods, and a lack of interactive media. As a result, students become unengaged, bored, and fail to achieve the expected learning outcomes. By using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model supported by the interactive learning tool Wordwall, this study aims to improve IPAS learning outcomes. This Classroom Action Research (PTK) was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The 22 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 02 Pandean served as the research subjects. Data collection was conducted through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation, and both quantitative and qualitative descriptive analyses were used. The results of the study indicate that students are able to learn more effectively using the problem-based learning model and Wordwall as an interactive learning tool. The learning outcomes in Natural Sciences for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 02 Pandean have improved through the implementation of a problem-based learning model aided by the interactive learning tool Wordwall. Using this model, learning has become more active, interactive, and effective. The percentage of students meeting learning standards also increased from 30% in the pre-cycle to 77% in Cycle I and 90% in Cycle II.

Abstract

Traditional games are an important part of Indonesia's cultural heritage and provide significant educational potential for fostering learners' social and cultural values. However, rapid technological development has reduced children's participation in traditional games, limiting opportunities to develop values such as cooperation, honesty, sportsmanship, discipline, and solidarity. This study aims to identify the social and cultural values embedded in traditional games, analyze effective educational strategies for integrating them into learning, and formulate an implementation model applicable to schools, families, and communities. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Fifteen eligible journal articles published between 2021 and 2024 were analyzed using thematic synthesis. The findings revealed three major educational strategies: integrating traditional games into classroom learning, strengthening collaboration among schools, families, and communities, and revitalizing traditional games through community-based cultural activities. These strategies effectively enhance learners' social skills, cultural awareness, and character development. The study concludes that traditional games are not only recreational activities but also valuable educational resources for strengthening social and cultural values. Therefore, their integration into formal and non-formal education is essential to support sustainable character education and cultural preservation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the intellectual biography of Muhammad Abduh, the methodological characteristics of Tafsir Juz ‘Amma, and his hermeneutic-sociological construction of Surah Al-‘Asr as an instrument of social criticism. The research employs a qualitative library research method with descriptive-analytical and sociological approaches. The findings reveal that Abduh's reformist thoughts were shaped by his academic trauma regarding conventional pedagogical methods at the Al-Ahmadi Mosque in Tanta, which was later reconstructed through the spiritual guidance of Sheikh Darwish Khadr and cosmopolitan intellectual dialectics with Sayyid Jamaluddin al-Afghani. In Tafsir Juz ‘Amma, Abduh implements the Adab al-Ijtima’i (socio-literary) approach, which focuses on the aspect of hidayah (practical guidance) and rejects rigid, dry interpretations (jaf mub’idun ‘anillah). Through his interpretation of Surah Al-‘Asr, Abduh deconstructs the theological fatalism of society that frequently scapegoats time for civilizational decline, asserts the neutrality of the historical dimension, and reconstructs the meaning of faith and righteous deeds from a passive-eschatological scope into indicators of emancipatory sociological productivity in the real world. This study concludes that Abduh's interpretation of Surah Al-‘Asr functions as a blueprint for social transformation and an active social contract to extricate the Muslim community from intellectual stagnation and colonialism.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of YouTube videos in English language teaching and to identify the challenges faced by the teacher during their implementation in the seventh grade of SMPN 2 Gedangan. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The data were collected through three classroom observations and a semistructured interview with an English teacher. The data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the implementation of YouTube videos was conducted systematically through several stages, including selecting learning materials, choosing appropriate video types, determining learning models and teaching methods, conducting videoassisted learning activities, and evaluating students’ learning outcomes. The teacher utilized three types of YouTube videos, namely animated videos, teacher explanation videos, and vlog videos. The learning models applied were Discovery Learning and Problem-Based Learning, while the teaching methods included lecture, question-and-answer, and group discussion. However, the teacher also encountered several challenges, particularly technical issues such as unstable internet connections, video buffering, projector malfunctions, and differences in students’ concentration levels. Nevertheless, these challenges were addressed through alternative strategies such as direct explanations, ice-breaking activities, and quizzes. Therefore, YouTube videos were proven to be an interesting instructional medium in supporting English language teaching and learning.

The objectives of this study were (1) to determine the influence of the school environment on the moral education of grade VIII students of SMP Nurul Hikmah Cipondoh, Tangerang City. (2) To determine how much influence the school environment has on the moral education of grade VIII students of SMP Nurul Hikmah Cipondoh, Tangerang City. The research method used was descriptive quantitative. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a saturated sampling technique, so that the entire population was used as a research sample. The data analysis technique used simple linear regression with the help of SPSS Version 25. The population data and sample amounted to 125 grade VIII students. Based on the research results, the R-square value was 0.164, or 16.4%. The hypothesis test results showed a calculated t-value of 4.915 > t-table of 1.979. Therefore, it can be concluded that the school environment has a positive and significant influence on the moral education of eighth-grade students at Nurul Hikmah Junior High School, Cipondoh, Tangerang City, amounting to 16.4%, while 83.6% is influenced by other factors not examined by the researcher

Abstract

Career choice represents an important developmental task for senior high school students, as it is closely associated with decisions regarding further education and preparation for entry into the workforce. However, many students experience uncertainty when making career decisions, partly due to limited confidence in their own abilities. This study aimed to examine the effect of self-efficacy on the career choices of Grade 11 students. A quantitative approach employing an ex-post facto design was used. A sample of 77 students was selected through simple random sampling from a population of 125 Grade 11 students. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire with a Likert scale, with self-efficacy measured based on Bandura’s theory and career choice assessed according to Parsons’ concept. The instruments were established to have adequate validity and reliability. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, prerequisite testing, and simple linear regression using IBM SPSS Statistics 29. The findings revealed that self-efficacy had a positive and significant effect on students’ career choices, as indicated by a regression coefficient of 0.746, and an R² value of 0.531. Thus, self-efficacy accounted for 53.1% of the variance in students’ career choices. These findings suggest that students with higher levels of self-efficacy tend to demonstrate greater ability and confidence in making appropriate career choices. The findings further highlight the importance of career guidance and counseling programs that focus on strengthening students’ self-efficacy to support more informed decisions regarding further education and future career pathways.
