Abstract

The study of Nahwu, a branch of Arabic grammar, focuses on changes in word endings related to i'rab (inflection) and bina (construction), as well as sentence structure. Within Nahwu, the concept of tawabi’ refers to words that follow another in agreement with case, definiteness, and other grammatical aspects. Tawabi’ is categorized into na’at (adjective), taukid (emphasis), badal (substitute), and athaf (conjunction). This research specifically analyzes na’at and its types in the book "Washôyâ Al-abâ Lil Abnâ" by Muhammad Syakir Al-Iskandarî, which is widely used in Islamic educational institutions. The objectives are to identify and categorize the types of na’at in the text. Using a literature research method, the study employs documentation and data analysis based on the Miles and Huberman theory, involving data restriction, grouping, and presentation. The findings reveal 97 instances of na’at in the book, with 96 being na’at haqiqi (direct adjectives) and 1 being na’at sababi (causal adjective). The types of na’at identified include mufrod (single words), jumlah (sentences, both nominal and verbal), and syibhul jumlah (prepositional phrases), with the majority being na’at haqiqi mufrod. The study suggests further research to deepen the exploration of tawabi’, particularly na’at.

Abstract

This article discusses the renewal of pesantren and madrasah education with a focus on a comparison of curriculum development models. There are four models discussed, namely the Rogers model, Ralph Tyler, Robert S. Zais, and the model of Muslim scholars consisting of al Ghazali, al Farabi, Ibn Sina, Ibn Khaldun, and Ibn Rusydi. This article aims to discuss the advantages, disadvantages, and critical discussion of each of these curriculum development models. The research method used is literature study with descriptive and critical analysis techniques. The results of the analysis show that each model has advantages and disadvantages, as well as differences in the basic concepts of curriculum development. However, Ralph Tyler's model is considered the most consistent and flexibly applicable model. It is hoped that this article can provide a better understanding of the renewal of Islamic boarding schools and madrasah education through curriculum development, as well as provide guidance for future Islamic education curriculum development.

Abstract

Education is an important foundation in the development of individuals and society. In the challenging modern era, the education system must be able to develop critical thinking skills in students. Constructivism learning theory, which emphasizes students' active role in constructing knowledge, offers a relevant approach for this purpose. This study explores the implications of applying constructivism theory to the development of student's critical thinking skills through a qualitative method with theoretical review and literature study. The findings show that problem-based learning strategies, group discussions, and collaborative projects are effective in improving critical thinking skills. However, the implementation of this theory varies depending on the educational context and teacher readiness. In developed countries, the implementation of constructivism is more successful than in developing countries, which face challenges such as lack of resources and teacher training. The results of this study offer practical guidance for educators and policymakers in designing curricula that are responsive to student's needs, as well as making a significant contribution to the education literature.

Abstract

The use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) flipped classroom has the potential to support blended learning and enhance learner autonomy and language development. However, there is a need for more research on the use of NLP in the EFL flipped classroom. This paper addresses this research gap by proposing a conceptual framework for using NLP in the EFL flipped classroom and a set of proposed designs and activities incorporating NLP to enhance learner autonomy and language development. This paper aims to provide a conceptual framework for using NLP in the EFL flipped classroom and propose a set of designs and activities incorporating NLP to enhance learner autonomy and language development. This paper's methodology involves reviewing the literature on NLP and the flipped classroom and developing a conceptual framework and proposed designs and activities. The product of this paper is a conceptual framework for using NLP in the EFL flipped classroom to support blended learning and a set of proposed designs and activities that incorporate NLP to enhance learner autonomy and language development. This paper concludes that NLP has the potential to support blended learning and enhance learner autonomy and language development in the EFL flipped classroom. However, further research is needed to evaluate these approaches' effectiveness and identify best practices for using NLP in the EFL flipped classroom.

Abstract

This research investigates the role of self-awareness in mediating the impact of the Usmani method and learning intensity on Al-Qur'an reading proficiency among Ma'had Al-Jami'ah IAIN Ponorogo students. Using a quantitative survey method, data were collected from 61 mahasantri through a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed with descriptive statistics and regression analysis. Findings revealed that while the Usmani method positively influenced self-awareness (0.419; 0.001), self-awareness itself did not significantly affect Al-Qur'an reading ability (0.512; 0.057). Additionally, self-awareness did not mediate the effects of the Usmani method (0.215; 0.101) and learning intensity (0.288; 0.090) on Al-Qur'an reading proficiency. These results underscore the limited mediating role of self-awareness. Consequently, it is recommended that Ma'had Al-Jami'ah IAIN Ponorogo incorporate self-awareness development programs into the Al-Qur'an curriculum through workshops and reflection sessions. The Usmani method should be tailored to individual needs, and learning intensity should be optimized to ensure effective and efficient use of students' time and energy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in learning outcomes between control class students and experimental class students, as well as the effectiveness of using word punch card learning media in Arabic language learning for grade 7 students at MTs Fie Sabilil Muttaqien, Paron, Ngawi. Currently, Arabic language teaching at this madrasah only uses the lecture method without learning media, which causes a decline in student learning outcomes. This research employs a quantitative experimental method with a Quasi-Experimental Design and hypothesizes that word punch card media is effective for learning outcomes. Data were collected through tests, interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Mann-Whitney formula. The results show significant differences in learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes. The average learning outcome for the experimental class was 8.88, while the control class was 8.25. The Mann-Whitney test indicated an asymp.sig (2-tailed) value of 0.034 > 0.05, thus the alternative hypothesis is accepted.

In addition, according to Ibnu Sina, the purpose of education is to help students prepare themselves to live in society and get jobs according to their interests and talents. This study uses a literature review approach or library research by analyzing various literature studies related to Ibn Sina's perspective on Islamic education. The findings obtained are that Ibn Sina conceptualized Islamic education by first teaching Al-Quran education. In addition, everything that has been conceptualized by Ibn Sina is still very relevant to Islamic education today starting from curriculum concepts, students, educators, learning methods, and punishments in education.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the urgency and influence of learning intention and the Usmani method on the ability to read the Al-Qur'an through peer teaching mediation. Conducted on 208 students at Ma'had Al-Jami'ah IAIN Ponorogo, this research used a quantitative approach with survey methods and non-probability sampling using purposive techniques. Data was collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale and analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and regression analysis to test hypotheses. It is hoped that the research results will provide valuable insight into the development of effective learning models for Islamic education, with relevant implications for formal and non-formal education. This research's recommendations include regular training for mahasantri and facilitators, the formation of structured learning groups, integration of technology in learning, as well as a mentoring program between senior and junior mahasantri. Thus, this research has the potential to increase the effectiveness of Al-Qur'an learning in Islamic religious education environments, strengthen the quality of interactions between students, and support the formation of deeper and more meaningful religious practices. Through its emphasis on Ottoman methods and peer teaching, this research not only enriches the understanding of Al-Qur'an learning but also makes an important contribution to curriculum development and teaching practices in the context of Islamic education.
