Abstract

Public transport stops should be planned in such a way to attract more people to use it. The purpose of this study is to examine the influencing factors to the selection of travel distance from home to bus stop. The results show that majority of users of Trans Metro Bandung travelled less than 300 meters to reach bus stop. Aspects or variables that are discussed in this study are gender, age, marital status, status at the household, household conditions, occupation, monthly expenses, monthly travel expenses, mode to reach bus stops, and luggage. The results of the analysis using ordinal logit model show that the influencing aspects of the distance from home to the bus stops are gender and mode to reach bus stops.

Abstract

One of the roots traffic congestion is high number of private vehicle which triggered by an increase in the number of population. Switching users of private vehicle to public transport regarding to the affecting factor supposed to be examining first to solve traffic congestion. Based on factor analysis, there are two major factor on transport mode choice; quality (time, comfort, cleanness, safety, security, accessibility, and reliability ) and cost. Therefore, the government should be taking into considerations priority, which offer high contribution on solution made as priority. In order to achieving goal; the quality criteria reached contribution value that of 68% and 32% for cost criteria. Quality criteria compiled by time which has 61.8% of contribution value, safety (15.2%), accessibility (9.1%), security (8.8%), reliability (2.4%), comfort (1.7%), and cleanness as the priority within quality criteria has 1% of contribution. On the other dimension, cost criteria contain of fuel subsidy reached 95.664% of contribution, parking rate (3.947%), progressive tax (0.366%), and LCGC issue (0.023%).

Abstract

Two intersections in the campus of the University of Jember need attention. That name is Doubleway intersection and Triumviraat roundabout. This is related to the frequent occurrence of accidents at the intersection. Previous research conducted by Isnanto (2007) and Novel (2013) at  the Doubleway intersection. This intersection assumed into a roundabout, and the performance of the roundabout until 2023 showed DS ≤ 0.75. This study was conducted to evaluate the design of Doubleway and Triumviraat roundabout at the University of Jember. Evaluation results used to re-design of  Doubleway and Triumviraat roundabout in order to satisfy applicable standards/guidelines. So the safety aspect of the review of infrastructure can be realized. The diameters size results obtained from the design of the Doubleway and Triumviraat roundabout  is 38.5 m and 44.7 m. Performance of the each other roundabout  in 2014 showed  the DS value ≤ 0.75.

Abstract

Crumb rubber is a type of thermoplastic polymer, if mixed with asphalt has an advantage capable at high temperatures, heavy traffic, as well as more flexible. Asphalt mixture used in Indonesia in the form of hot mixture with dense graded, which is called asphalt concrete (laston / AC). Mixing asphalt with crumb rubber used high speed rotation method. Testing a mixture of pavement was conducted using Marshall Method. In this study, variation of crumb rubber as an asphalt additive modification used 5%, 10% and 12%. The test results demonstrate the increasing value of the properties of asphalt penetration, softening point, and viscosity which is the interpretation of high load traffic and high temperature. Marshall Test results showed that the polymer modified asphalt mixture with crumb rubber has a value of stability, flexibility and durability which is above the conventional mix. Based on this it is concluded that crumb rubber can be used as an additive polymer modified asphalt and asphalt mixture properties pavement better than conventional asphalt and mix. Optimum value which can be used in asphalt modification of the polymer is between 5% and 10%.

Abstract

The River Mahakam has a big role for citizen who live in the East Kalimantan region. This river is as the barometer of a natural balance in this area. At present, all of upstream regions of the River Mahakam were converted from the forest areas to  palm plantations and coal mining in massive scale. Its impact, the River Mahakam has a big sedimentation and decreasing discharge of water. In order to understand how big the impact of its problem to sustainaibility of river transportation, the research has conducted to calculate sedimentation and the discharge of water into the River Mahakam with descriptive method. The research showed that sedimentation has increased and the discharge of water has decreased into the River Mahakam. This problem has been threatening sustainability the River Mahakam as waterway.

Abstract

The number of motor vehicles increasing impact of the issue of congestion and increasing number of traffic accidents. Roads Maj. Sungkono Kedung Kandang District of Malang has a high accident rate from 2008 to 2012 according to data from Malang Police Unit Laka. Results Analysis of factors affecting the behavior of the traffic accident rate in the Road Mayjend Sungkono Malang include professional actors accidents by 87% is private, the home city of the perpetrators of accidents as much as 53.07% came from Malang,, the age of the perpetrator accident 46.296% is aged 26 -45 years, age pedestrians involved 35.484% age <17th and 17-25th .. Based on the rate of accidents per year in the event of an accident at maximum ie 38.89%.

Abstract

The using of Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM) for road capacity and traffic speed analysis need to be reconsidered, because of the old-fashioned basic data. There are increasing of elements like the quantity of motorbike and their compotition ini traffic and the increasing of national road length, bring to the condition that the Indonesia’s traffic characteristics is now changing. IHCM formed by the using of macroscopic traffic flow theory, this study uses microscopic side, implementing traffic simulation with helped of Vissim software on Menteri Supeno Road in Yogyakarta at 6.45 am to 7.45 am. The statistics analysis on the distribution of vehicle arrival headway and traffic speed, told that there is no significant difference between the survey and the Vissim’s result, the analysis continued, found that the capacity of the road is 4,193 vehicles.

Abstract

Universitas Indonesia as one of the campus that provides a wide variety of modes of transportation for campus visitors, one of them by providing bicycle transportation facilities A bicycle transportation research in UI campus is needed to determine the factors that influence the availability of bicycle transportation infrastructure for the academic community and the desire to use the bicycle transportation modes. This study uses survey and direct observation using the enclosed questionnaire addressed to the academic community of the University Indonesia. Analyzing the data with descriptive statistical and non-parametrical statistic methods , which determine the correlation and linear regression . The results of the analysis on bicycle transportation infrastructure assessment showed that the most influential variable powerful facilities. While the desire for cycling , reliability variable is the variable that most strongly influences.

Abstract

In Indonesian cities, usually a car owner also own a motorcycle to avoid congestion. This cause many problem such as unskilled rider, traffic violation, aggressive behaviour etc. Instruments to assess motorcycle rider behaviour were developed  in England, Iran, Turkey, China and Australia. Putranto and Anjaya (2014) propose Indonesian Motorcycle Rider Behaviour Questionnaire (MRBQ) as MRBQ was prove to be sensitive to local culture and social system. This paper is further development of Indonesian MRBQ. Previously the instrument was prepared without strong theoritical basis. In this present paper the instrument was adjustment of Persian MRBQ. After an FGD with experts in motorcycle rider behaviour only 42 items from 48 items in Persian MRBQ were used in in this study. All valid and reliable items were anlysed to compare wheter there are different behaviour between different gender, age, whealth level, job, ethnicity, etc. Respondents were lecturers and employees of Tarumanagara University.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine causative factors and how strong these influence trip attraction at Banten Province Government Center. The result of this research is a mathematical model of trip attraction. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The model as the result of this research was obtained are as follows first: general model as Y =-0,712 + 1,931X4 + 1,801X5 – 1,014E-6X7, second: motor biker’s model as Y =-0,199 + 1,009X3 + 0,300X5 –0,176X6 + 0,010X7, third: car driver’s trip attraction model Y = -0,566 + 1,032X4 + 0,638X5 – 0,028X8 with R2 as 0,934, and last: public transportation user’s model as Y = 0,229 - 0,157X4 + 0,739X6 +0,041X8+ 0,148X9 with the variables as X4= Car Owners, X5= Car and Motorbike Owners, X6= Number Of Respondents Not Having Vehicle, X7= Number Of Respondents Choose a Faster Time, X8= Number Of Respondents Choose Distance Closer, X9= Number Of Respondents Choose Cheaper Cost.
