Abstract

Objectives: Employee engagement is often considered one of the factors that can reduce turnover intention. The inconsistency of the results indicates that there are various variations depending on the industry context and the conditions of the job and the company. In the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) industry, this challenge becomes increasingly complex due to the high pressure to meet project deadlines, dynamic work environments, and rapid project rotations, which can significantly affect employee engagement and turnover intention. In National Construction Company experiencing financial crises due to project failures resulting from the implementation of PSAK-72 and the conditions of COVID-19, this leads to uncertainty in project sustainability, prompting many employees to leave the company. This research consists of two variables, employee engagement as the independent variable and turnover intention as the dependent variable. The study aims to determine whether employee engagement has an effect on turnover intention.Methodology: The method used in this research is analysis, with data collection through questionnaires. This research employs a quantitative method with a non-probability sampling technique of convenience sampling. The population in this study is all employees at the National Construction Company, totaling 676. A sample of 251 employees was selected for analysis in this research. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing.Finding: The results of this study indicate that employee engagement has a significant effect on turnover intention among employees of the National Construction Company. Conclusion: The results of this research are expected to be utilized by the management of the National Construction Company to reduce turnover rates by considering the employee engagement perceived by employees, thereby enabling the company to achieve better and sustainable performance.

Abstract

Objectives: Following the concept of smart hotels, this study aims to analyze the relationship between technology readiness, amenities, perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), and visiting intentions. In addition, this study seeks to identify specific elements of technology amenities that significantly influence guests' intention to visit. Thus, this study is expected to fill a gap in the literature and propose a more comprehensive conceptual framework for understanding guest behavior in the context of smart hotels.Methodology: This study used quantitative research methods with the unit of analysis being visitors to five-star hotels in Jakarta. Purposive sampling was used to select participants who met the research criteria, resulting in a total of 290 respondents. Data collection was conducted using an online questionnaire distributed through social media. Data analysis techniques used in this study included Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the relationship between variables.Finding: The results indicate that technology amenities significantly affect PEOU, PU, and visiting intention. Meanwhile, technology readiness affects PEOU and PU but does not directly influence visiting intention. PU and PEOU mediate the influence of TR and TA on visiting intention, indicating that perceptions of ease and usefulness are the main mechanisms that bridge the relationship between technological factors and consumer behavior. Conclusion: This study concludes that technology amenities have a significant effect on PEOU, PU, and visit intention. Meanwhile, technologyl readiness affects PEOU and PU but does not directly affect visit intention. PU and PEOU become mediating variables of the effect of TR and TA on visit intention.

Abstract

Objectives: This research aims to examine the direct impact of relationship value (RV) on distributor satisfaction through a second-order analysis using structural equation modeling (SEM). The study focuses on understanding how various dimensions of RV contribute to enhancing satisfaction among distributors.Methodology: A cross-sectional survey was conducted, collecting data from 193 middle-class distributors. The analysis employs a second-order model to explore the relationships between RV dimensions and distributor satisfaction, while also utilizing Importance-Performance Map Analysis (IPMA) to identify key areas for improvement.Finding: The results confirm the direct influence of RV on distributor satisfaction. The second-order model effectively identifies several critical dimensions of RV that significantly enhance satisfaction. IPMA results highlight that strengthening distributor reliance on sellers by providing more valuable market insights can boost satisfaction. Additionally, RV supported by seller expertise and timely market entry can foster stronger relationships with principals. Conclusion: This study offers valuable insights for managers, recommending a focus on the most critical dimensions of RV to improve distributor satisfaction and overall performance. By enhancing support and expertise, companies can build more positive and lasting relationships with their distributors.

Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to explore the relationship between risk propensity, risk perception, and investment decisions among millennials in West Java, Indonesia. The study particularly examines how risk perception mediates the relationship between risk propensity and investment choices.Methodology: A purposive sampling method was used, with 500 respondents from the millennial generation, aged 24-39 years, who have at least one year of experience in investments. The data was collected via online surveys and analyzed using correlation and mediation analysis with Process v.34 by Andrew F. Hayes.Findings: The results demonstrate that risk propensity has a direct positive effect on investment decisions. Additionally, risk perception significantly mediates the relationship between risk propensity and investment decisions. Millennials with higher risk propensity tend to make more risk-taking investment decisions, but the level of their risk perception influences the final decision-making process. Conclusion: This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how risk behaviors, particularly risk propensity and perception, shape investment decisions among millennials. It provides valuable insights for investors and practitioners in the field of digital investment, suggesting that fostering better risk perception could lead to more informed investment decisions.

Abstract

Objectives: The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of role ambiguity and work-family conflict on job stress among banking employees in Bengkulu City.Methodology: The study used a quantitative approach with data collected from 180 respondents through purposive sampling. The participants were permanent or contract banking employees with a minimum of one year of work experience. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Validity and reliability tests were performed, including AVE (>0.50), Composite Reliability (CR), and Cronbach’s Alpha (>0.70).Finding: All indicators met the validity and reliability criteria: The AVE values were: Role Ambiguity (0.76), Work-Family Conflict (0.74), and Job Stress (0.77). The R-Square (R²) value for Job Stress was 0.578, indicating that 57.8% of job stress variability can be explained by role ambiguity and work-family conflict. Hypothesis testing showed: Role Ambiguity had a positive and significant effect on Job Stress (β = 0.429, t = 6.215, p = 0.000), Work-Family Conflict had a positive and significant effect on Job Stress (β = 0.378, t = 5.801, p = 0.000).Conclusion: The study concludes that both role ambiguity and work-family conflict significantly increase job stress among banking employees. To mitigate this, bank management should focus on clarifying employee roles and providing programs that support work-life balance.

Abstract

Objectives: This research endeavors to investigate how profitability and growth opportunities shape firms’ capital structure decisions, while also elucidating the moderating influence of equity market timing (EMT) within these associations. The inquiry centers on coal mining enterprises—an industry distinguished by capital-intensive operations and pronounced sensitivity to market fluctuations.Methodology: Adopting a quantitative paradigm, this study utilizes panel data drawn from 23 coal mining firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2019–2023 period. The sample is determined through purposive selection. Moderated regression analysis serves to assess the interplay between profitability, growth opportunities, and capital structure, with EMT incorporated as a moderating construct. All variables are operationalized through financial ratios and processed using EViews software to ensure analytical rigor.Finding: Empirical evidence discloses a significant inverse nexus between profitability and capital structure, signifying that more profitable entities exhibit a diminished proclivity toward debt financing, favoring internally generated funds instead. Conversely, growth opportunities manifest a positive and significant relationship with leverage, implying that firms with broader expansion prospects are predisposed to augment their indebtedness. Moreover, EMT intensifies these dual tendencies—fortifying the adverse link between profitability and leverage while concurrently amplifying the positive association between growth opportunities and debt usage. Conclusion: Collectively, the findings underscore that capital structure formation is not solely contingent upon internal financial attributes such as profitability and growth potential but is equally sculpted by external capital market conditions. Firms, therefore, appear to recalibrate their financing configurations strategically, navigating between internal performance dynamics and the temporal advantages presented by favorable market valuations.
