Abstract

PhET Simulation is a learning tool that transforms series of experiments into multimedia-based interactive software that can simulate laboratory activities, enabling users to use practical tools in real laboratories. The aim of this research was to determine the decay rates of the isotopes carbon-14 and uranium-238 during their first, second, and third half-lives, as well as to determine the accuracy of the experiments performed in PhET simulations. The method used is an experimental method using a virtual lab with PhET simulations. The research results obtained are that the PhET simulation has a high level of accuracy. The accuracy of the 14C isotope experiment is 96.47%. The accuracy of the isotope 238U is 94.77%. Therefore, a PhET simulation-based virtual laboratory to calculate half-lives can be used as a relevant learning media solution to explain the decay of carbon-14 and uranium-238 isotopes, thus prioritizing modern abstract physics that can be analyzed and observed so that it becomes interesting to study.

Abstract

The importance of experimental science for both researchers and students causes the physics experimental method course to be evaluated and developed, one of which is by analyzing fundamental problems and appropriate solutions in the form of finding appropriate teaching material needs to be developed. The type of research used is qualitative research with research subjects, namely students from the class of 2020. And the data collection technique is by conducting unstructured interviews with item questions, namely open questions. Data analysis was carried out descriptively so that the data would be arranged in a specific pattern and narratively draw conclusions. It was found that the fundamental problem of the course was the absence of learning guidelines so that learning took place unsystematically so that a teaching material could combine STEAM and PjBL. This research will be followed up with further research regarding the development of the STEAM-PJBL-based Project Book, which is expected to be able to answer all the problems contained in the course.

Abstract

This study aims to determine student perceptions of Student Worksheets in the Introduction to Solid Substance Physics course. Using a mixed method research method between quantitative and qualitative methods and the type of research is explanatory sequential, which strengthens the results of quantitative data. The research subjects were 47 active students who had contracted the Introduction to Solid Substance Physics course in the Physics Education study program at Jambi University. The research instrument was distributing student perception questionnaire sheets and lecturer interview sheets to students. The data analysis techniques used for the quantitative method are descriptive statistics and qualitative methods based on Miles & Huberman. The results obtained after conducting the research revealed that students were dominant in the excellent category for understanding the learning of the Introduction to Solid Substance Physics course on Student Worksheets, and following the results of interviews with lecturers, namely student responses were excellent and able to improve skills in the learning process. The introductory course in Solid Substance Physics is a limitation of this study, and the results obtained on the Student Worksheet are only for students of the Physics Education study program. Thus, further research can expand the subjects to be studied so that the results obtained are varied and good

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the results of the development of electronic modules on measurement material and student's perceptions of the product being developed. The type of research conducted is R&D research with the development model selected, namely the 4-D development model. The research samples used were two expert lecturers as product assessors and 25 students as samples whose perceptions were measured. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with the instruments used being a student needs questionnaire, material validation, media validation, and student perceptions. The data analysis for the questionnaire is descriptive statistics, while the instrument data validation uses reliability and validity tests. The results of the data obtained indicate that the product is feasible to use and can be accessed using a mobile phone via the link provided by the author, while the perception of the electronic module obtained shows a very good perception. Thus, this module is considered feasible and ready to be used to assist students in understanding.

Abstract

Academic supervision is one of the main tasks and responsibilities of the principal. This research aims to look at academic supervision in physics education and the quality of education. The quality of educators is a topic of discussion in educational management. Educators play a role in improving the quality of education because educators are the parties who participate in the teaching and learning process and are closest to students. Supervision of academic leadership positively impacts improving the quality of education. In this case, empowering educational leadership can improve functional abilities so that school principals can serve in accordance with their authority and responsibilities and manage all school activities to run well and function optimally. This study uses the literature review method, which looks at the problems around it.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the abilities possessed by students by using e-modules in learning physics at the high school level.The research method is qualitative with a systematic literature review type of research.The articles obtained were 50 articles from Google Scholar with a publication range from 2017 to 2021 as a population which were then filtered to become 10 articles indexed Sinta 1-3 as a sample. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the e-module is one of the teaching materials that can describe new innovations in the learning process so that it becomes more interactive and flexible. The use of e-modules in physics learning can support problem-solving abilities, higher-order thinking skills, conceptual understanding, scientific literacy, creativity, learning outcomes and student achievement. Thus, the use of e-modules in physics learning at the senior high school level can be said to be effective in an effort to optimize the objectives of the learning being carried out.

Abstract

The activity of students when attending Astronomy and Geophysics Lectures in the physics education study program so far is still lacking. This is because the lecture tools are inadequate, students only listen to explanations from lecturers, and learning through the Zoom application is not very effective for students. To overcome this problem, it is necessary efforts are made to design Learning Designs that are good and adequate so that lectures can improve critical thinking skills. This study aimed to design a Learning Design with Adobe Flash C.S.6 Applications. The developer method of this research is 4-D (Four-D mode). The product development stage in this model is the definition stage, the design stage, the development stage, and the dissemination. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the learning device is feasible to use.

Abstract

This research is about how the concept of students' knowledge construction in learning. This research used TBLA (Transcript Based Lesson Analysis) to improve learning at Senior high school 7 Jambi City. The TBLA model provides an analysis for learning input through learning dialog transcripts. The steps in this research are the planning stage (plan), the implementation stage (do), and the reflection stage (see). This research was conducted at Senior high school 7 Jambi City. Constructing students' knowledge during learning is interrogative (Q), asking for opinions, information, suggestions, or assistance. The responsive indicator (A) is answering questions or giving rejection. The suggestive indicator (S) gives suggestions related to the topic of discussion. On the informative indicator (I), which provides information related to the topic of discussion. The exemplification indicator (EX) gives concrete/real examples. On elaborative indicators (EL), namely developing further information, suggestions, or examples. The justification indicator (JT) is an allegation of information, suggestions, or examples.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the discovery learning model assisted by animation media on the learning outcomes of class eight students of St Gabriel Ndona Catholic Middle School for the 2022/2023 academic year. This type of research is a pre-experimental design (One Shoot Case Study) with a quantitative approach. Data collection techniques are in the form of objective tests. The population in this study were students of class eight, St. Gabriel Ndona's Catholic First Middle School. The study sample consisted of 32 students obtained from the saturated sampling technique. According to the analysis using the SPSS-V24 application, the results showed that the discovery learning model affected the science learning outcomes of class eight students of SMPK St Gabriel Ndona. This is shown by the results of data analysis for science learning outcomes with sig. 0.05, the confidence level is 95%, and the value of t count = 5.838, so the sig value is obtained. 0.00 < 0.05 so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The profile of students' thinking abilities in the cognitive domain shows good results, where 80% of students have good thinking skills that influence student learning outcomes. The study had various obstacles, including the lack of learning facilities such as computers, so learning was done in groups.

Abstract

Almost all students already have a smartphone, but it has not been maximally used for media of learning. This problem was to develop interactive multimedia based on the conflict of cognitive using a smartphone. The study's purpose was to describe the characteristics and produce multimedia of interactive based on a conflict of cognitive that was valid on the material of mechanical wave characteristics. The research conducted was a research of development using the Plomp model. The research procedure consists of preliminary research and development/prototyping phases. This limited research was in the expert review stage. The data collection instruments from this study were the educator's questionnaire sheet, the literature study sheet, the self-evaluation questionnaire sheet, and the validity test sheet. The data analysis techniques used were the percentage technique and the V Aiken technique. In the Develop / Prototyping Phase, interactive multimedia has been designed based on the syntax of the conflict of the cognitive model in learning. The self-evaluation result was obtained with very valid criteria. The validity result of the test obtained an average of 0.77 with a valid category. Therefore, multimedia of interactive based on the conflict of cognitive on mechanical wave characteristics material has been valid in terms of the substance of the material, design of learning, display of visual communication, and utilization of software.
