Abstract

The condition of high tides causing flooding or what is called tidal flooding is a condition that has a negative impact on the surrounding area, especially construction buildings. Construction buildings that are submerged in sea water can experience corrosion in the building structure. The addition or substitution of certain ingredients that can minimize the influence of minerals and salts contained in sea water, such as vermiculite, can be an alternative to this problem. Vermiculite material has the ability to absorb water and can extract heavy metal salts from water. This research was carried out by adding vermiculite to the concrete mixture at 0% (normal concrete), 12%, 24% and 36%, which was then tested on fresh concrete mixture (slump and bulk density testing). The test object used is in the form of a block with dimensions of 100mm × 100mm × 500mm. Concrete flexural strength testing was carried out on test objects that had been soaked using sea water and ordinary water as a comparison. The highest flexural strength value of concrete was in the mixture with a percentage value of 36%, namely 2.91 MPa for concrete submerged in sea water and 2.86 MPa for concrete submerged in plain water. The addition of vermiculite material can increase the flexural strength value of concrete along with the percentage level of the vermiculite mixture.

Abstract

The construction of residential canals in Cimahi City is one of the jobs that needs to be carried out considering that the canal capacity often exceeds the limit. This condition often causes puddles when the rainy season arrives. The occurrence of waterlogging, especially during the rainy season, in several residential areas has an impact on socio-economic aspects and the lives of local communities. Inundation occurs due to drainage channels not functioning properly. This research aims to analyze the capacity of existing channels and provide design recommendations for handling floods in the RW 24 and RW 28 areas, Cipageran Village, North Cimahi District, Cimahi City. In this research, primary data was collected, namely measuring the topography and dimensions of the existing channel. Interviews were also conducted with local residents to get an overview of the problems and modeling calibration data. This research uses modeling assistance with SWMM software. From the research results, it was found that the existing channel dimensions can still accommodate flow discharge with return periods of 2, 5, 10, 25, 50 and even 100 years. However, the condition of existing channels that are not maintained and high sedimentation causes a decrease in channel capacity, so that during the rainy season water overflows occur due to reduced channel capacity. So it is recommended to build a channel cut of approximately 180 meters to reduce the flow rate in the existing channel.

Abstract

Coal is an efficient fuel with stable heat production, so many industries use it as an energy source for the production and generation of electrical energy. Burning coal produces bottom ash waste in the combustion furnace and is categorized as B3 waste according to Government Regulation number 22 of 2021. This research is to create an alternative utilization and processing of coal bottom ash waste that is useful but still safe for the environment, namely by utilizing coal bottom ash in a ratio of 10% to 60% to sand plus cement as a binding material to form artificial aggregates, artificial aggregates are made into concrete mixtures. with a ratio of 1 cement: 2 sand and 3 artificial aggregates in the weight ratio of the materials. In this research, the maximum compressive strength value of concrete was obtained at f'c 13.89 (141.54 kg/cm2) at a ratio of 10% with a soaking time of 28 days, according to the maximum compressive strength value, coal bottom ash can be used as C quality concrete bricks. Leaching tests on 10 (ten) B3 parameters showed that Boron (B) compounds were detected above the quality standard, namely 27.62 mg/L in bottom ash, but the concentration decreased in artificial aggregates and was only 3.281 mg/L in concrete samples, while for other B3 compound parameters, the total concentration is below the specified quality standards.

Abstract

Infrastructure development in soft clay soil conditions will have an impact on the low bearing capacity of the soil and a decrease in the value of the soil's carrying capacity. Increasing the bearing capacity of the soil is carried out using PVD based on empirical and numerical calculations to produce settlement values and PVD consolidation times for rectangular and triangular patterns. In this research, the results obtained from empirical calculations are that the triangle pattern is the most appropriate pattern to be applied in this case because it has a fast consolidation time value for BH 04, 05, 06, respectively, only takes 125, 124, 128 days with large decline 0.00903, 0.9012, 0.85743. Meanwhile, in numerical calculations, the triangle pattern has a fast time for BH 04, 05, 06 respectively requiring 280, 190, 134 days with a decrease of 0.0112000, 0.0001781, 0.0000006.

Abstract

Sidoarjo is a city that is also affected by the development of Surabaya, where many Sidoarjo residents have activities and work in Surabaya so that community mobilization from these two cities is very important and needed, one of them is by using public transportation modes of the AKDP Bus (Inter Cities In The Province Bus), Sidoarjo (Larangan Bus Station) - Surabaya (Semut). The purpose of this study is that in the development of public transportation, especially the Sidoarjo-Surabaya AKDP Bus route, at the Larangan Bus Station, it is adjusted to the characteristics of existing passengers, to create a public transportation mode that suits the needs of the community. The method used in this study is by distributing questionnaires to 100 correspondents with an error rate of 10%, from the primary data obtained characteristics of passengers of the Sidoarjo-Surabaya AKDP Bus as follows: The majority of male passengers (67%) with an age range between 41-50 years (33%) with a high school education background (SMA) (36%), and the majority have other jobs (51%) and private employees (29%). While the majority of passengers using AKDP Bus Transportation in the Prohibition Terminal are a majority with the aim of shopping (80%) and the frequency of using AKDP Bus Transportation <5 times a week (93%). The results of this analysis are expected to be a reference for the management in developing the Sidoarjo-Surabaya AKDP Bus service to be even better.

Abstract

The rapid development of concrete nowadays demands us to conduct research or further develop previous research. The goal is to produce higher quality concrete products. This research aims to determine the effect of adding Poly Vinyl Acetate white glue to the physical and mechanical properties of concrete with a ratio of 1PC: 2PS: 3KR. This research was conducted at the Materials Laboratory of the Civil Engineering Department, State Polytechnic of Semarang. The concrete produced in this study is in the form of cylinders with a diameter of 15cm, nine in total, and one beam measuring 15x15x60 cm. The samples produced consist of one sample of normal concrete and four samples with PVAc glue mixtures (2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10%). The research results show that the addition of glue has little effect physically. The percentage results of compressive strength of cylinders at 7 days of age with normal concrete are as follows: PVAc 2.5% increased by 12.96%; PVAc 5% increased by 4.78%; PVAc 7.5% decreased by 14.68%; PVAc 10% decreased by 39.57%. At 14 days of age, with normal concrete: PVAc 2.5% increased by 16.66%; PVAc 5% decreased by 3.65%; PVAc 7.5% decreased by 20.93%; PVAc 10% decreased by 52.10%. At 28 days of age, with normal concrete: PVAc 2.5% decreased by 6.13%; PVAc 5% decreased by 13.24%; PVAc 7.5% decreased by 20.69%; PVAc 10% decreased by 48.86%. As for the flexural strength results of beams at 28 days of age, concrete with PVAc content: 2.5% decreased by 32.09%; 5% decreased by 45.56%; 7.5% decreased by 36.51%; 10% decreased by 33.88%. These results are compared with normal concrete.

Abstract

As a prevention as most fires occur in building, it is important to plan a fire emergency. This study aims to make a fire emergency response plan in Studio Y at Television Station X. Data collection was carried out at Studio Y by identifying potential fire hazards and analyzing emergency response facilities and infrastructure. The results showed that Studio Y had a fairly high fire hazard potential because there were many tools and equipment that could be triggering a fire. Therefore, planning for a fire emergency was carried out according to the fire scenario and determining evacuation routes which were divided based on color zones and the number of available doors.

Abstract

Jalan Soekarno-Hatta is located in East Binjai District, Binjai City. Along this road, there is always quite high flooding when it rains. Flood events are usually caused by the intensity of rainfall and less than optimal drainage performance, where drainage should be a system whose function is to channel and circulate air that comes from rain, or seepage experiences damage and sedimentation so that it cannot function optimally. In order to minimize flooding on Jalan Soekarno-Hatta, it is necessary to evaluate drainage performance by reviewing existing conditions, taking into account rainfall intensity values and planned discharge to determine optimal capacity for more optimal drainage performance in collecting, channeling and channeling rainwater. This was done using an evaluative descriptive method with the length, width and depth of the drainage observed at 1630 m, 110 m and 1.27 m. The results were that the selected rainfall intensity value (period 5; year, 2027) was 125.866 mm/hour, concentration time (tc) 184.67 hours, drainage coefficient 0.925 resulting in planned discharge>drainage discharge (Qr>Qs) namely 278102.6 m3/ sec > 31478.6 m3/sec. These results indicate that Soekarno-Hatta's drainage capacity is unable to accommodate large (planned) discharges, resulting in flooding. Solutions that can be applied are reducing sedimentation, increasing the dimensions of the drainage itself or forming biopores.
