Abstract

The use of selected embankment materials in highway pavement work must meet the technical requirements in accordance with the applicable specifications. One source of mountain material exploited by the general public to meet the needs of residential construction and contractors on government projects is Golo Lalong Village, East Manggarai Regency, NTT Province. From previous research it is known that the mountain material from the quarry is not suitable for selected embankment work on roads because its active value is > 1.25 which is categorized as active material. This research was carried out with the aim of stabilizing the mountain material of Golo Lalong Village with mountain material from Kisol to reduce its active value. With 15% stabilization of Ex Kisol mountain material it is able to reduce the plastic limit value from 9 to 13 to 3 and the percentage passing the Number 200 sieve varies from 5.16% to 6.87%. The active value of the material resulting from the stabilization was reduced significantly from 1.25 to 2.43 become 0.44 to 0.97 so that the Golo Lalong Village mountain material with 15% stabilization of the Ex Kisol mountain material is suitable for use as an embankment option for highway granular pavement.

Abstract

Peat soil stabilization with a mixture of biopolymer materials with a mixture variation of 0.5%, 1%, 2%, 2.5%, and 3% to soil weight. This study aims to analyze the physical properties of peat soil in the Palangka Raya area and analyze the effect of adding a mixture of chitosan biopolymer with peat soil on the value of peat soil shear strength. Examination of soil physical properties includes moisture content examination, fiber content examination, specific gravity examination and volume weight examination. Meanwhile, the examination of mechanical properties in native soils and mixed soils is carried out by direct shear test. The results showed that peat soil in the Palangka Raya area had a moisture content value of 779.87%, fiber content of 61.44%, specific gravity of 1.41, and volume weight of 1.08 g/cm3. The results of direct shear testing on native soil obtained a cohesion value (c) of 0.04 kg/cm2 and a deep shear angle value (φ) of 4.50 °. The addition of biopolymer mixtures to the original soil results in cohesion values and deep shear angle values tend to increase with each addition of mixture variations. The highest increase in cohesion value (c), deep shear angle (φ) and soil shear strength (Ï„) occurred with the addition of 2.5% biopolymer and 3% biopolymer 28-day curing. This shows that the addition of biopolymer mixtures will provide an increase in the shear strength value of the soil, which makes the soil better and more stable.

Abstract

Sedimentation that occurs in the Logung Weir in Kudus Regency can reduce the capacity of irrigation services. The conturmeisure for sediment by build a check dam or normalization. The methods used in this analysis include hydrological analysis using the Hec-HMS application to obtain a 50 year planned flood discharge, erosion rate analysis using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) method and sediment analysis using the Sediment Delivery Ratio (SDR) method. Furthermore, comparing the efficiency between normalization work and making check dams and their maintenance. Analysis of the amount of sediment in the Logung Dam catchment is 1.18 mm/year with a sedimentation rate of 0.27%, which is 4750.87 m ³/year. The sediment storage capacity at Logung Weir is 1,918.00 m ³, it is necessary to increase the storage capacity of 2,832.61 m ³. For scenario 1, normalization/dredging is carried out 3 times a year, with an operational cost of IDR 707,425,977.00/year. Within a period of 50 years the total cost that must be incurred is Rp. 155,503,120,928.41. Scenario 2 is the construction of a check dam at the upstream of Logung Weir, the location is suggested at Sta. 11+50. The cost required Rp. 4,171,067,132.16 for construction and annual dredging costs of Rp. 235,808,659.01. Within a period of 50 years the total costs to be incurred amounted to 56,005,440,774.97. Comparison of the 2 scenarios shows that a more efficient long-term value is the construction of check dams and their operations.

Abstract

Concession agreements have been implemented in many transportation infrastructure projects in Indonesia as a creative step by the government to meet the funding needs of transportation infrastructure projects in the country. The Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (JBHSR) is a major railway project with substantial investment. Despite securing a 50-year concession, the project has seen escalating investment costs. Nevertheless, the concession significantly impacts the feasibility of the project investment. This study examines and analyzes several factors that influence or are considered in the concession period agreement of railway projects. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method involving literature review, policy document analysis, and expert interviews. The research shows that high-speed railway projects typically have a lengthy return on investment. This is supported by the scarcity of countries globally where such projects have achieved both investment recovery and profitability. Regarding the 50-year concession for the JBHSR Project, it becomes inconsequential when construction issues arise, impacting costs and investment scale. Therefore, a review and reevaluation of the concession period is necessary. Furthermore, certain considerations need to be taken into account when determining the new concession period. The research aims to guide the government in enhancing concession policies, especially concerning railway project concession periods.

Abstract

The Old Town area of Semarang is a tourist area that will be projected as a pedestrian area. The first step starts with the Car Free Night policy. This policy was carried out by closing Jl. Letjen Suprapto as a pedestrian area. The purpose of this study is to determine the performance conditions of the intersections in the Old City Area. Data collection in this study used an intersection inventory survey method which included intersection geometry, speed, and vehicle volume. The analytical method uses the help of the PTV Vissim 2022 Student Version application. Based on PTV Vissim analysis for normal day intersection performance, it was found that the lowest intersection performance occurred at the Letjen Suprapto Intersection with service level F where there was a delay of 80 seconds/vehicle and a queue of 127 m long. During Car Free Night, the lowest intersection performance is shown by level of service D, delay of 38 seconds/vehicle, and queue of 57 m. this condition occurs at the Mpu Tantular Intersection. The Car Free Night policy has had a positive impact on the performance of the traffic flow network in the Old City of Semarang as indicated by the increased level of intersection service.
