Abstract

Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a type of concrete that has the ability to flow and consolidate itself without the need for vibration. The addictive substance for self-compacting concrete uses chemical plasticizers produced by concrete chemical companies. The nature of the plasticizer material is usually liquid and thick which is used to thin the mixture and increase the workability of the concrete. The research began by creating a mix design including preparation of the need for natural additives. Testing the thinness of the concrete mix can be carried out using a flow test or fresh concrete spread test, where SCC meton meets the criteria if it gets a minimum spread test diameter of 50 cm. Some natural materials that are thick in nature include aloe vera sap, egg white, snail mucus and others. Tests using plasticizer fabricated products from Sika Viscocrete 3000 had the highest Flow values for SCC concrete, followed by Sugar Solution, Allovera, Egg White and Snail Liquid. The results of successive cylindrical concrete compression tests produced average strengths ranging from Sika Viscocrete 23.6 Mpa, Allovera 14.23 Mpa, Snail 13.75 Mpa, Egg White 11.0 Mpa, and Sugar 3.1 Mpa. Fabricated plasticizers have very good results as additional materials for Self Compacting Concrete type concrete, while the natural material that still has potential in terms of flow is sugar solution, while in terms of compressive strength it is allovera.

Abstract

Activities that occur in an activity center will certainly cause vehicle parking activities. Parking facilities are a very important supporting factor and require extra attention for their development in the activity center. Parking problems are something that we often encounter in various locations of educational centers, shopping centers, hospitals, factories, universities and many other places. One real example that occurs in Semarang is on the Semarang State Polytechnic campus, every day active lectures are certainly always a buildup of vehicles that cause traffic activities around the Semarang State Polytechnic campus to become dense. Therefore, an evaluation is needed to fulfill the need for parking space on the Semarang State Polytechnic campus. In evaluating the fulfillment of parking needs, Parking Characteristics on the Semarang State Polytechnic Campus with a composition of 2-wheeled and 4-wheeled vehicles with a parking duration for each type of vehicle is 425 minutes and 546 minutes with a parking index of 104% and 277%. The need for parking space that must be provided on the Semarang State Polytechnic campus with each type of vehicle is 3622.3 for 2-wheeled vehicles and 140.8 for 4-wheeled vehicles.

Abstract

Urban farming is an effort to maintain resilience in the capital city of Central Java. The Semarang City Government continues to be committed to improving the quality of regional development with benchmarks from aspects of development achievement, quality aspects, document preparation aspects, and innovation aspects. In 2023, the Semarang City Government will carry out program innovations such as the Food Startup Challenge, Urban farming Corner, Rumah Gizi Pelangi Nusantara, and Sekolah Berkebun which will be included in the assessment of the Regional Development Awards (PPD) for Regency/City at the Central Java Province level. In carrying out this innovation, the Semarang City Government also encourages the involvement of all levels of society, especially women's groups and children through the curriculum in schools. This urban farming can support nutritional improvements for stunted children in the City of Semarang. As is known, the City of Semarang has succeeded in scoring a hat trick as the first best city in the Regional Development Awards or PPD for 3 consecutive years (2019, 2020, 2021) both at the Central Java Province and national levels. One of the activities that can support the urban farming program is the availability of green houses for plant nurseries in the RT, RW, and sub-district sectors. The construction of green houses for nurseries is very important for the community, especially residents of RT 06, Meteseh Village, so that they can produce plant seeds independently and can carry out planting activities or movements carried out by the Semarang city government

Abstract

In modern construction, lightweight bricks are increasingly used as an alternative building material due to their advantages in terms of light weight, ease of installation, and energy efficiency. However, the strength of structures formed from lightweight brick masonry is highly dependent on the quality of the bond between the elements, particularly the use of adhesives such as construction glue. One crucial factor determining the bond strength is the configuration and length of the bonding surface used. This study aims to evaluate the effect of the number of bonding rows on the adhesive bond strength of lightweight brick masonry. Testing was conducted experimentally using one- and two-row bonding configurations. Each sample was subjected to compressive force through a 24.4 mm diameter cylindrical press. Results showed that the two-row configuration produced a higher bond strength, but with a larger coefficient of variation, indicating lower stability of the results. Increasing the bond length actually tended to decrease the bond strength, likely due to uneven distribution of glue and pressure. Furthermore, all test specimens fractured in the brick body, not at the bonding surface, indicating that the adhesive strength had exceeded the tensile strength of the lightweight brick. Regression analysis showed a very strong relationship between compressive force and bond strength, indicating that applied pressure was the dominant factor in bond effectiveness.

Abstract

Project scheduling is a crucial component of construction management, serving as a reference for controlling time, resources, and project progress. Selecting an appropriate scheduling method is essential to ensure that project implementation proceeds effectively and efficiently. This study examines the application of the Model Schedule Project ala Syafriandi (MSPAS) method in a construction project using Microsoft Project software. MSPAS consists of three main components—planning, scheduling, and tracking—which collectively provide comprehensive information regarding project duration, activity dependencies, resource performance, and progress evaluation. The results indicate that the use of MSPAS enhances project efficiency by reducing the project duration from 270 days to 256 days, as well as decreasing indirect project costs by IDR 298,453,596. Furthermore, 287 critical activities were identified, including preparatory work, structural work, architectural work, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks. Therefore, MSPAS can be considered an effective method for optimizing project time and cost in construction management.

Abstract

Infrastructure development in Indonesia is growing rapidly, necessitating economical and environmentally friendly building materials. Concrete is a key construction material, but the cement-making process produces significant carbon emissions. To reduce environmental impacts, one method is to use industrial waste, such as rock ash, as a substitute for sand in concrete mixes. This study aimed to examine the effect of rock ash use on the compressive strength of K-225 quality concrete after 28 days. Five mixtures were tested with ratios of rock ash ranging from 0% to 100% replacing sand. The results showed that none of the mixtures achieved the desired compressive strength of 225 kg/cm². However, the mixture with 50% rock ash provided the best compressive strength of 194.385 kg/cm² with the lowest standard deviation (8.648 kg/cm²), indicating consistent quality. The decrease in compressive strength at higher rock ash levels was due to the presence of fine particles and silt exceeding the maximum limit. The study concluded that fly ash can be used as a sand substitute up to 50% of the time, provided its quality meets technical standards. The use of fly ash can help save costs, conserve natural resources, and support sustainable development.

Abstract

Panti Rahayu “Yakkum” Hospital Purwodadi has provided three parking spaces that are still within the hospital complex. In the parking area, it is currently unknown what the characteristics of parking and how much parking space is needed. This study aims to determine the characteristics of parking, capacity, and the need for existing parking spaces. The research method used is the observation method and literature study. This study was conducted for 3 days, namely Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, starting at 08.00 – 20.00 (12 hours) with a recorded time interval of 15 minutes. The results obtained were 602 vehicles for the highest parking volume for motorcycles and 156 vehicles for cars, the highest parking accumulation for motorcycles was 469 vehicles and 120 vehicles for cars, the parking index for cars was 122.45%, while for motorcycles it was 87.99%, the average duration of parking for motorcycles and passenger cars was 2.5 hours/vehicle and for parking turnover it had the same parking turnover rate between motorcycles and cars, The parking capacity for motorcycles is 1 vehicle, while for cars it is 3 vehicles. The total capacity for motorcycles is 533 SRP, while the capacity for cars is 49 SRP. However, when viewed from the highest incoming vehicle volume, the parking capacity is insufficient to meet the parking needs of patients, visitors and hospital employees. Researchers recommend that Panti Rahayu “Yakkum” Hospital Purwodadi add parking space or build a multi-story building parking lot.

Abstract

Improperly managed road conditions have led to increased maintenance costs and a decline in transportation service quality in Semarang City. Inefficiencies in road maintenance budget managementee often occur due to limited data availability and the lack of an integrated system. This study aims to implement a database system for managing road maintenance budgets using the Provincial Kabupaten Road Management System (PKRMS) developed with Microsoft Access. The research methodology involves the collection of primary data through field surveys and road condition inventories, as well as secondary data obtained from relevant government agencies. The collected data were processed within the PKRMS framework to generate cost estimates for maintenance activities categorized as routine maintenance, periodic maintenance, rehabilitation, and road widening. The analysis results show that road segments with severe damage require the highest budget allocation, particularly for rehabilitation work, whereas roads in good condition only require routine maintenance with relatively lower costs. The implementation of this database system has proven effective in improving efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in the planning and decision-making process for road maintenance budget allocation in Semarang City.
