Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mempelajari mencit Balb/c sebagai hewan model penelitian virus penyakit Jembrana. Penelitian menggunakan 32 ekor mencit yang dibagi atas 2 kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok 1 digunakan sebagai kontrol (placebo), sedangkan kelompok 2 divaksin dengan vaksin limpa (JD.vacc.sp.15). Masing-masing mencit disuntikkan 0,2 ml vaksin JD secara intraperitoneal, setiap dua minggu sekali sampai 4 kali. Seminggu pasca vaksinasi ke-4, semua mencit dinekropsi dan limfosit dari limpa diisolasi untuk uji respon kekebalan seluler dengan uji MTT.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa respon kekebalan seluler akibat divaksin dengan vaksin limpa lebih tinggi (rata-rata = 1,3819) dari pada kontrol (placebo)(rata-rata = 1,2194). Analisis statistik diperoleh bahwa perbedaan tersebut bermakna (p<0,05). Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa mencit BALB/c dapat digunakan sebagai hewan model penelitian virus penyakit Jembrana. The presents study axamines the use of Balc/c mice for the animal model to study of Jembrana disease virus. Thirsty two mice were devided in two group (Treated and control group).Mice in the treated group were injected0,2 cc spleen vaccine (JD Vacc. sp.15). The mice were injected by intra peritoneal route, for every two week until 4 time of treatment.The celluler immune response of treated mice was significantly hygest that the control mice. The result of the studyindicated that the Balb/c mice is useful for the animals models to study of Jembrana disease virus.

Abstract

Dexamethasone it’s in period a synthetic corticosteroid drug that widely used by the public. If it used for long time and the use of large doses, causing oxidative stress in cells due to the accumulation of free radicals which may cause cell death in the body organs tissues. Vitamin E was known to have a good role as an antioxidant effect. Currently, unknown effects of dexamethasone and vitamin E administration on damage of the small intestine of rat (Rattus norvegicus). This study used an experimental design. Samples 25 male rats were divided into 5 groups, namely the negative control or no treatment (P0), positive control (P1) was given dexamethasone Harsen 0.13 mg/kg, and the treatments were given dexamethasone Harsen 0.13 mg/kg with a varieties of vitamins E (Natur-E) multilevel namely P2 (100 mg / kg), P3 (150 mg / kg), and P4 (200 mg / kg). After the treatment was given for 2 weeks, the mice at necropsied and the small intestine were taken for histopathological examination using hematoxyline-eosin staining. Results showed treatment P1 found severe necrosis (caseosa) in the small intestine, while the entire treatment P2, P3, and P4 affect the repair of damage due to effects of the dexamethasone. Treatment 4 (P4) was the best results in reducing the effects of dexamethasone.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dimensi tinggi tubuh pedet sapi bali. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengukuran terhadap dimensi tinggi tubuh pedet sapi bali meliputi tinggi punuk dan tinggi pinggul sapi. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sebanyak 12 ekor pedet sapi bali masing–masing 6 ekor pedet jantan dan 6 ekor pedet betina. Pengukuran dimensi tinggi tubuh pedet sapi bali dilakukan 6 kali pengukuran mulai umur 0 bulan (baru lahir) sampai 6 bulan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam. Model persamaan yang digunakan adalah y = a.ebx. Hasil sidik ragam dimensi tinggi pedet sapi bali menunjukkan bahwa umur berpengaruh sangat nyata (p<0.01), serta terdapat interaksi yang sangat nyata (p<0.01) antara jenis kelamin dengan umur pedet sapi bali terhadap dimensi tinggi punuk dan pinggul pedet sapi bali. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari bertambahnya ukuran tinggi tubuh pedet sapi bali dari umur 0 – 6 bulan. Laju pertumbuhan tinggi pedet sapi bali jantan tidak nyata (p>0.05) lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan laju pertumbuhan pedet sapi bali betina, serta laju pertumbuhan tinggi pinggul tidak nyata (p>0.05) lebih cepat dari pada tinggi punuk pedet sapi bali jantan dan betina.   Kata kunci : pedet-sapi-bali , tinggi, dimensi, jenis-kelamin

Abstract

The aims of this study were to prove that the administration of toxic doses of paracetamol affects the histopathology of the kidneys and to know the effect of ant nests on the protective effect on kidney rats given paracetamol toxic dose. This study used 24 white male rats consisting of four treatments, ie control group P0 without treatment, treatment group P1 given paracetamol dose 250 mg/kg BW, treatment group P2 given paracetamol dose 250 mg/kgBW plus ant nest dose 250 mg/kgBW, treatment P3 given ant nest 250 mg/kgBW for seven days after it was given extract of ants and paracetamol dose 250 mg/kgBW. Paracetamol and ant nest extract are administered orally for ten days. After that, necropsies and kidney organs were taken aseptically for the preparation of histopathological preparations with hematoxylin and Eosin staining. The variables examined were congestion, bleeding, necrosis and inflammation. From the examination obtained results of kidney damage in the form of congestion, bleeding, necrosis and inflammation. The Kruskall-Wallis test showed a significant difference in mean congestion, bleeding, necrosis, and inflammation of the tested group. From this study, it can be concluded that paracetamol dose 250 mg/kg BW can cause kidney damage. Ant nest dose 250 mg/kg BW able to repair damage to the kidney tissue

Abstract

Penentuan kadar glukosa darah anjing kintamani menggunakan Accu-check Active dilakukan di laboratorium Patologi Klinik Veteriner, Fakultas Kedoktern Hewan Universitas Udayana. Sampel darah diambil dari 50 ekor anjing kintamani untuk menentukan kadar glukosa acak dan 10 ekor untuk mengetahui kadar glukosa darah puasa dan dua jam setelah makan. Sampel darah diambil dari vena chepalica. Anjing yang dipilih sebagai sampel adalah anjing kintamani milik penduduk di daerah Denpasar dan Kintamani. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan rerataan kadar glukosa normal darah anjing kintamani secara acak sebesar 86,62 mg/dl  19,09, jantan adalah 84,10 mg/dl  19,11  dan betina 89,81 mg/dl  19,01..  Pada keadaan puasa kadar glukosa darah anjing kintamani adalah 73,4 mg/dl  5,98,   jantan 74 mg/dl  2,82 betina 73 mg/dl  7,69. Kadar glukosa darah anjing kintamani dua jam setelah makan sebesar 75,6 mg/dl  6,13, jantan 76,25 mg/dl  2,36 dan  betina 75,76 mg/dl 7,98. Hasil ini masih berada dalam kisaran normal berdasarkan standar acuan Graham. Dengan demikian Accu-check Active dapat dipakai untuk menentukan kadar glukosa darah anjing kintamani.

Abstract

This study aim was to determine the influence ant nest plant extract (Myrmecodia pendans) on histopathological changeof white rat liver (Rattus novergicus) due to induced with paracetamol toxic dose. This study used 24 male white rats, divided into four groups, negative control group (P0) given placebo, positive control group (P1) given paracetamol dose 250 mg / kg bw for 10 days, P2 given ant nest extract 250 mg / kg bw and paracetamol dose 250 mg / kg bw for 10 days, P3 given ants nest extract 250 mg / kg bw for seven days, then continued by giving paracetamol and ants nest extract with dose 250 mg / kg bw for ten days. After the treatment done, all the rats were dinecropsed. Liver organs were taken and processed for making histopathology preparations. Parameters examined included hemorrhage, congestion, degeneration and necrosis. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by using Kruskal Wallis test followed by Mann Whitney test. Mann Whitney test results for all categories of histopathologic changes in hemorrhagic, congestion, degeneration, and necrosis between negative control group (P0) and positive control group (P1) were significantly different (P <0.05), between negative control (P0) with P2 and P3 there was no significant difference (P> 0,05). Afterward, between the positive control (P1) and P2 with P3 there was a significant difference (P <0.05). I can be concludedthat the administration of paracetamol dose 250 mg/kg bw for 10 days affects the histopathologic changes of white rat liver. The administration of ant nest plant extracts can reduce the side effects of toxic doses of paracetamol.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the prevalence of Pasteurella multocida in bali cattle in Bali. A total of 300 cows were taken from nasal swabs for isolation and identification of bacteria P.multocida. The samples came from Badung, Denpasar, Gianyar, and Bangli . Samples were grown on blood agar media. Separate colonies were identified by morphology, Gram stain, , Triple sugar Iron Agar, Methyl Red-Voger Proskauer (MRVP), Simmnons Citrate agar, Sulphid Indol Motility, sugars test and catalase test. Germs that characterizes P. multocida analyzed descriptively. The results showed that as many as 15 samples suffer from P. multocida bacteria spread in Badung 5 cattle (5%) , Denpasar 4 cattle (8%) , Gianyar 4 cattle (8%), and Bangli 2 cattle (2%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak pegagan terhadap gambaran histologis limpa mencit yang diinfeksi Salmonella typhi. Mencit sebanyak 24 ekor dibagi empat kelompok, yakni kelompok I (P0) sebagai kontrol diberikan aquades steril, kelompok II (P1) diberikan pegagan dengan dosis 125 mg/kg bb, kelompok III (P2) diberikan pegagan 250 mg/kg bb, dan kelompok IV (P3) diberikan pegagan 500 mg/kg bb. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 6 kali. Pegagan di berikan setiap hari selama 14 hari. Setelah 14 hari seluruh mencit diinfeksi S.typhi. Pada hari ke-15 dilakukan nekropsi untuk pengambilan sampel berupa limpa dan dibuat preparat histologi. Pengamatan preparat dilakukan di Laboratorium Histologi, meliputi persentase nekrosis. Metote pewarnaan menggunakan Haematoxylin Eosin (HE). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan Uji Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil analisis menunjukan gambaran  mikroskopis limpa mencit yang diberikan pegagan dosis 500 mg/kg bb berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dengan limpa mencit yang diberikan pegagan dosis 125 mg/kg bb, 250 mg/kg bb dan mencit yang tidak diberikan pegagan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the addition of moringa flour (Moringa oleifera) in the feed to the weight of the liver of white rats (Rattus norvegicus). Moringa leaf flour was administered orally in 20 rats divided into 5 treatment groups with 0%, 2.5%, 5.0%, 10% and 20% concentration respectively with five replicates for one month. The white mouse was dissected and weighed heavily. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (RAL). The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA (analysis of variance), and continued by Duncan Multiple Range Test. The results obtained were the addition of 20 ml of Moringa oleifera flour in the diet to increase the liver weight of white rat (Rattus norvegicus), while the addition of maize flour 10%, 5% and 2.5% did not affect to the white rat’s (Rattus norvegicus) liver weight.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the levels of blood glucose and plasma urea in postpartum anestrus bali cattle. The research design used to determine both blood glucose andblood plasma urea concentration is completely randomized design consisting of two groups: groupI, cows have a normal cycle and group II, postpartum anestrus cows experiencing with each groupconsisting of 4 repetitions . The results in the study showed that glucose levels did not appear toshow significant differences between glucose levels during estrus and cattle anestrus postpartum. While the plasma urea levels appear to show significant differences between urea levels duringestrus and cattle anestrus postpartum. Time significantly  for glucose on day- 0 and the day to-14.The same thing seems  urea levels that increase significantly  on day- 0 and to 14. The results canbe concluded that urea levels influence the emergence of postpartum estrus in bali cattle, whereasglucose levels had no effect.
