This study explores the implementation of the Speakia application in enhancing English vocabulary among junior high school students from their perspective. Technological advancements have significantly influenced language learning, making it more interactive and accessible. The Speakia app, used by over fifty million users since 2021, offers a virtual environment for practicing English through immersive daily activities. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Speakia in improving vocabulary, its advantages, disadvantages, and the motivational impact on students. A qualitative case study methodology was employed, involving 25 purposively selected junior high school students. Data was collected through adapted questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Quantitative analysis of the questionnaires provided insights into students' perceptions, while qualitative analysis of interviews offered an in-depth understanding of their experiences. Results indicate that students generally find Speakia easy to use and effective in enhancing vocabulary. The app's interactive features, quizzes, and real-time pronunciation feedback are highly appreciated. However, challenges such as the need for premium accounts for advanced levels and reliable internet access were noted as significant barriers. Despite these drawbacks, students reported increased motivation and active engagement in learning English through the app.

Therefore, the purpose of this research is to prove that the utilizing of problem-based learning can improve the student’s speaking skill of the eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 14 Palu. To answer the problems above, researchers used a quasi-experimental research design with cluster random sampling to choose the sample. The population of this research were students from grade eight students at SMP Negeri 14 Palu. The samples of this research were students of grade VIII Pattimura as the experimental group and grade VIII Jenderal Sudirman as the control group. To obtain data, the researchers used YouTube as a learning medium and a voice recorder as an instrument to obtain answers from students. The results of this research prove that the implementation of problem-based learning can improve students’ speaking skill in the VIII Pattimura. The results of this research can help teachers find a new method that is designed to make students actively participate in expressing their ideas and opinions in English.

There are several problems in reading comprehension faced by students at SMP Negeri 14 Palu. The main issue is that when students read, they still have difficulty understanding the text due to limited vocabulary. Additionally, they also have difficulty with complex text structures and have a low interest in reading. Therefore, this research aims to prove that the Project-Based Learning method can improve reading comprehension of students in grade VIII of SMP Negeri 14 Palu. Researchers answer the problems above using a quasi-experimental research design, with cluster random sampling to select samples. There are 22 students in class VIII Slamet Triyadi and 22 students in class VIII Imam Bonjol. To collect data, researchers use narrative tests with 20 multiple-choice questions and 5 essay questions. In the essay section, students are required to create short narrative texts based on story elements. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the use of the Project-Based Learning method is effective in improving the reading comprehension of grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 14 Palu. These findings can help teachers to get new methods designed to make students to think creatively. Through the project, students can delve deeper into the text, understand the context, and connect information with the real world.

To solve the problem, this study uses a sociolinguistic approach. Research data is a list of e-sports commentators containing registers, with YouTube video data sources Mobile Legend Bang-bang Indonesia and informants. The data is networked using the log-in and interview methods. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using alternative techniques with reference to the problems that have been formulated. Research results show that the register on E-Sports commentators can be (1) words formed through the process of affixing, reduplication, and abbreviation, as well as (2) phrases that include nominals, verbs, adjectives, and numerals. Furthermore, the meaning formed in the E-Sports commentator registry is divided into two groups of meaning, namely the limited circle registry and the open circular registry. The limited circular register has a narrow meaning coverage with a limited number. On the contrary, the open circle register has an extensive meaning cover with a number that tends to expand.

The intent of the study was to examine the efficacy of using the Speech Ace program in enhancing the English oral proficiency of junior high school pupils. A quasi-experimental approach was used, consisting of one experimental class that included Speech Ace during sessions, and one control class that received standard education. Both courses underwent pre-testing and post-testing to assess their speaking abilities. The findings demonstrated a statistically significant enhancement in the average score of the experimental group's post-test, which increased from 75 to 88 (p=0.001). On the other hand, the control class did not show a notable variation in average scores, which ranged from 73 to 75 (p=0.05). A t-test analysis comparing independent samples showed a statistically significant difference between the groups, with a p-value of 0.000, which is less than the significance level of 0.05. As a result, it was determined that the study hypothesis was confirmed, indicating that SpeechAce had a considerable impact on students' English-speaking proficiency. The good evaluations of SpeechAce were also seen in the student interviews and surveys. In summary, the results of the study provide concrete evidence that using technology-based tools like SpeechAce may significantly improve students' pronunciation abilities when used with traditional teaching techniques.

A literature review has demonstrated that the implementation of digital literacy in the learning environment leads to significant changes in students. The purpose of this study was to analyze how teachers use digital literacy strategies in learning activities. To achieve this goal, a semi-structured qualitative study was carried out with five (female) English teachers from secondary schools through focused individual interviews. Six questions were asked during the interview and the findings were analyzed. The findings indicated that teachers engaged in diverse technology professional development to integrate digital media into classroom instruction. Some teachers faced challenges in the use of technology and sought assistance from tech-savvy colleagues. Furthermore, teachers often encountered challenges in the use of copyright which highlighted the need for accessible educational resources and support in navigating copyright issues. Finally, teachers use a blended strategy by combining the use of digital and traditional media in classroom teaching. This study will be useful for teachers and school administrators in preparing for advanced education in the era of digital transformation.

Folktales are one of the widespread literary works in the community. Folktales in one region may differ in themes, storylines, and aspects from the other. Examples of such differences can be seen in the Indonesian folktale "Ular N’Daung dan Si Bungsu" and the Chinese folktale "The Legend of the White Snake." This study aims to describe the division of episodes and socio-cultural factors contained in the two stories. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative approach. The data collection technique used in this research is library research. The research data were analyzed using the structuralism theory and described qualitatively. The results showed that these two folktales both have a similar plot that consists of the initial meeting, conflict, and resolution. The difference lies in the number of episodes and storylines, considering that the length of the folktales is also different.
