Abstract

This study analyzes the transformational da'wah leadership model of Persatuan Islam during the 2022-2027 period when the organization entered its first century. Using the constructivism paradigm and a qualitative approach through the case study method, this study investigates the mainstreaming of Persis da'wah in terms of discourse, movement, and activity, especially those reflected in the leadership vision and jihad program of the Central Leadership for the 2022-2024 period. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with Persis leaders, participatory observation, and document analysis, which were then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The study results show that transforming the Persis paradigm from "explaining Islam" to "presenting Islam" requires a progressive and contextual da'wah leadership model. This transformational leadership model must integrate Islamic values with the demands of the times, provide solutions to contemporary community problems, and build a sustainable da'wah ecosystem. Through this approach, Persis can maintain its relevance as a da'wah institution and contribute significantly to the development of Islamic civilization, which is rahmatan lil 'alamin.

Abstract

This study discusses the dynamics of the relationship between Sunnis and Shiites in Indonesia, which are sometimes tense, but generally harmonious. This study is qualitative-research using a literature review method. To sharpen the analysis of the discussion of the dynamics of Sunnis-Shiites, interdisciplinary research is used in the study of religions. The results of this study indicate that the main factor causing tension between Shiites vis-à-vis Sunnis is due to the doctrine of the Imamate which is the belief of the Shiites themselves. This doctrinal difference is what gives rise to other elementary factors such as politics and economics. That the elements of doctrine, politics and economics make the relationship between Sunnis and Shiites in Indonesia even more complicated. The three are intertwined in such a way that the Sunni-Shiite conflict develops in various regions of Indonesia. However, this study also shows a relatively harmonious relationship process between Sunnis and Shiites in various regions of Indonesia. The harmonization process between the two camps with different ideologies occurs at the grassroots level. This study recommends the process of strengthening cultural da'wah as one of the harmonization strategies among religious communities in Indonesia.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed how students interact and participate in dakwah activities, particularly through social media. This study aims to analyze how media literacy supports the involvement of SMK YPC Tasikmalaya students in digital religious dakwah movements and how pesantren-based education enhances these capabilities. Using qualitative methods and a case study approach, this research collected data through interviews, observations, and documentation of students' digital dakwah activities. The findings indicate that the media literacy program at SMK YPC Tasikmalaya not only equips students with technical skills to access and disseminate information but also instills religious moderation values to counter radicalism and intolerance in digital dakwah. Media literacy developed through the pesantren approach encourages students to become creators of inclusive, peaceful, and relevant dakwah content tailored to digital audiences. The implications of this research highlight the importance of integrating media literacy into religious education curricula to prepare young generations as productive and moderate digital preachers. With these skills, students can actively disseminate tolerant dakwah messages and foster a harmonious digital community rooted in religious values.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a serious issue in West Nias Regency, particularly affecting young girls. Religious instructors, as respected community figures, are seen as vital agents in preventing early marriage through education based on religious values. However, challenges such as limited digital access, low media proficiency, and generational communication gaps reduce their effectiveness, especially in reaching youth influenced by social media. This study explores how media literacy can enhance religious instructors' role in early marriage prevention. Using a Community-Based Research (CBR) approach and qualitative methods, the study engaged 28 participants—including instructors, community leaders, and youth—through interviews, FGDs, and observations. Results show that instructors trained in basic digital skills used tools like WhatsApp, Facebook, and video editing apps to create religious-themed videos and interactive content. These methods significantly improved youth engagement. One instructor noted, “After learning how to use videos and infographics, more teenagers listened and asked questions.” The study concludes that media literacy is a key communication strategy, not just a technical skill. It enables instructors to connect more effectively with younger audiences and address sensitive topics like early marriage. Two key recommendations are: (1) establish ongoing, tailored media literacy training for religious instructors, and (2) build partnerships with schools and youth organizations to develop collaborative digital campaigns. These strategies can empower religious instructors to become more dynamic, youth-friendly communicators and help reduce early marriage in West Nias.

Abstract

In the digital era, social media is one of the main means of spreading da'wah that has the potential to affect the Islamic character of individuals, especially among students. This study aims to reveal how the consumption of da'wah content on social media plays a role in shaping the Islamic character of students and explore whether there are differences in perceptions based on gender in responding to the influence of digital da'wah. The study used a quantitative approach research method, where data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression tests and t-tests (Independent Samples t-tests) with a sample of 112 students from several universities in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the consumption of da'wah content on social media and the formation of Islamic character which contributed 59.4%. In addition, this study did not find any significant differences in student perceptions based on gender towards the influence of digital da'wah content in Islamic character formation. The implications of these findings highlight the importance of utilizing the use of social media as an effective means of da'wah in shaping students' Islamic character.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the process of internalizing Islamic da'wah values in the management of the Haryanto bus company, especially in the Boyolali garage. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results of the study show that the process of internalizing the values of Islamic da'wah and Islamic da'wah carried out by H. Haryanto is in the form of worship activities such as congregational prayers, almsgiving, and awarding in the form of Umrah. In addition, adequate worship facilities and corporate rules that support social charity reinforce the internalization of these values. However, there are factors that hinder the process of internalizing Islamic da'wah values such as the physical limitations of leaders and working hours that clash with worship times. The impact of the application of Islamic da'wah values in the company is proven to create a harmonious and productive work environment, as well as improve employee discipline. The implication of this research is that the internalization of Islamic da'wah values in the company not only achieves worldly success but also obtains moral and spiritual blessings for every karwayan. This research contributes to understanding how faith-based leadership can be applied in organizations and opens up opportunities for further research on the long-term impact of internalizing religious values in the workplace.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the ideology underlying the operation of religion-based broadcasting institutions and how the process of commodification of da'wah occurs in West Java. Using a qualitative approach and case studies, this study examines three Broadcasting Institutions in Bandung, Cirebon, and Tasikmalaya, which were selected based on their active involvement in da'wah broadcasting and wide audience reach. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews, field observations, and analysis of the content of the da'wah program for six months. The results of the study show that da'wah has undergone a transformation from a spiritual function to a media product that is packaged according to market interests and dominant ideologies. Commodification occurs in three aspects: broadcast content, audiences as commodities and sources of funds, and media labor that acts as a capitalistic production apparatus. This research confirms that Broadcasting Institutions in West Java not only prioritize educational functions in da'wah, but also make religion an economic and ideological instrument to maintain its existence in the midst of competition in the broadcasting industry. These findings contribute to the study of the political economy of the media and become an important reference for policymakers in balancing commercial interests and da'wah functions in the media.

Abstract

Tariqat al-Rifa'iyah is a mu'tabarah tariqat (connected to the Prophet Muhammad), which is spread throughout the world, including in Indonesia. The development of Thariqat al-Rifa'iyah teachings is growing rapidly in various provinces. The interesting thing to research in thariqat al-Rifa'iyah is the process of fostering the saliknya towards an attitude of shaja'ah (courageous for defending the truth). The purpose of this research is to gain clarity about the movement of thariqat al-Rifa'iyah as a zuhud thariqat, in fostering shaja'ah. Tariqat al-Rifa'iyah succeeded in contributing to the cultivation of the soul of shaja'ah. For this reason, researchers prove its success which has differences with other coaching patterns. This research uses qualitative method to explain the role of Tariqat al-Rifa'iyah in coaching towards shaja'ah attitude. The description includes the results of interviews with several practitioners of thariqat Rifa'iyah in Cianjur and Banten. Researchers use the theory of Sufism in conducting research. Because the connection of human soul development in Islamic teachings is carried out by Sufis and benefits as an addition to the scientific treasures of Islamic psychotherapy. The results obtained are that thariqat al-Rifa'iyah is a zuhud thariqat that is directed to contribute courage through special spiritual development.
