Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of fish oil on commercial cutouts of carcass. This research was conducted in Dajan Peken Village, Tabanan for 6 weeks. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments and 7 replications so that there were 21 experimental units. The 3 treatments were P0 rations without fish oil (0%) in feed, P1 rations with 3% fish oil in feed, and P2 rations with 6% fish oil in feed. Each experimental unit used 2 broilers (unsex) with a weight range of 440 ± 30 g. The variables observed were carcass proportion and commercial cuttings including chest, wings, upper thighs, lower thighs and back. The results showed that the proportion of carcass and commercial pieces tended not to be adhered to by the addition of 3% and 6% fish oil in the feed compared to the control, the analysis of variance showed that the treatment was not significantly different (P> 0.05). Based on this study it can be neglected that the use of fish oil at a dose of 6% in the feed did not increase the proportion of carcass and carcass pieces of broiler chickens including breast, wings, upper thighs, and lower thighs. Abstract

Inseminator merupakan salah satu faktor yang memegang peranan penting dalam keberhasilan inseminasi buatan dalam program UPSUS SIWAB yang dicanangkan pemerintah untuk meningkatkan populasi sapi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap kinerja inseminator dan keberhasilan inseminasi buatan (IB) dalam upaya menunjang program UPSUS SIWAB di Kabupaten Badung. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survey dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Adapun variabel yang diobservasi adalah faktor karakteristik inseminator meliputi: umur, lama menempuh pendidikan, jumlah keluarga, waktu kerja inseminator, lama sebagai inseminator, jarak operasional kerja dan lokasi serta Kinerja inseminator meliputi: jumlah IB per tahun, persentase keberhasilan IB satu kali, Conception Rate dan Calving Rate. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan metode multiple regression dan dilanjutkan dengan metode stepwise untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang paling berperan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kinerja inseminator secara bersama-sama dipengaruhi secara nyata (P<0,005) oleh faktor umur (X1), lama menempuh pendidikan (X2), jumlah anggota keluarga (X3), waktu kerja inseminator (X4), lama sebagai inseminator (X5), jarak operasional kerja (X6), dan lokasi (Di). Melalui analisis stepwise maka diperoleh jumlah ternak yang dapat di IB pertahun (Y1) secara nyata dipengaruhi oleh D1 dengan persamaan (Y1) = 1275,178 - 422,978 D1 dengan R2 = 0,420. Untuk keberhasilan satu kali IB (Y2) dipengaruhi oleh X1 dan X2 dengan persamaan Y2 = 71,770 + 1,038 X1 + 1,970 X2 dengan R2 = 0,701. Sementara untuk conception rate (Y3) dan calving rate (Y4) dipengaruhi oleh X1 dan X2 dengan persamaan Y3 =0,621 + 0,012 X1 + 0,023 X2 dengan R2 = 0,477, dan Y4 = 0,573 + 0,011 X1 + 0,017 X2 dengan R2 = 0,371. Dari beberapa faktor yang teridentifikasi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa peubah umur (X1) dan lama menempuh pendidikan (X2) yang paling berperan terhadap kinerja inseminator dalam menunjang keberhasilan IB pada pelaksanaan program UPSUS SIWAB di Kabupaten Badung. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of aloe vera (Aloe vera) extract edible coating on the quality of Lohman Brown chicken eggs during storage. This research was conducted on Animal Product Technology and Microbiology, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, lasted for 30 days. The research design used was, completely randomized design (RAL) within the study period of 10, 20, and 30 days, with 4 treatments and 3 replications, each of which was carried out as many as 3 eggs of Lohman Brown chicken. Each treatment required 36 items and each replication consisted of 3 items. So that the number of eggs used in this study was 108 eggs. The variables observed were storage time to decrease egg weight (%), shelf life of haugh unit (HU), shelf life of egg yolk color, shelf life of egg pH, and shelf life of egg yolk index (IKT). The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's test. The results of this study can be concluded that the aleovera coating was stored at room temperature 27 ? -28 ?. The treatment of C1 (100% aleovera), C2 (50% Aloe vera + 10ml aquades), C3 (50% Aloe vera + 10ml aquades), and C0 (without coating) on ??Lohman Brown chicken eggs had a significant effect (P <0.05) on variables shelf life against haugh unit (HU), shelf life of egg yolk color, shelf life of egg pH, shelf life of egg yolk index (IKT), and no significant effect (P> 0.05) on storage time variable on weight loss eggs (%) storage time of 10, 20, and 30 days, respectively. Abstract

This study aimed to determine Feed Digestibility of Kampung Chicken (Gallus domesticus) Given Fermented Papaya Leaves (Carica papaya L.). This research was conducted at the Research Station of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, Sesetan, Denpasar, Bali. Nutrients analysis were conducted at Nutrition Laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments, namely; treatment A as control (ration without additional fermented papaya leaves), treatment B (ration was given 10% fermented papaya leaves), treatment C (ration was given 15% fermented papaya leaves), and treatment D (ration was given 20% fermented papaya leaves). Each treatment had 4 replications and each replication used 3 kampung chickens aged 10 weeks. The variables observed were digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, and crude fiber. Data were analyzed using variance. The results showed that the feed digestibility of kampung chicken given fermented papaya leaves up to 20% had no significant effect (P>0.05) on all observed variables. It can be concluded that the chicken given fermented papaya leaves up to 20% give same effect on the feed digestibility of kampung chickens aged 10 weeks. Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of administering probiotics in drinking water on performanceof bali ducks fed rations containing green bean sprouts peels flour was conducted at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Farm, Udayana University, located on Jalan Raya Sesetan Gang Markisa no 5, Sesetan, Denpasar, Bali for 8 weeks. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 5 replications, so there were 15 experimental units. Each experimental unit used 3 female bali ducks with a body weight range of 46.98 ± 7.18 g. The treatments were : ducks given drinking water without probiotics as a control (A), ducks given drinking water + 2,5 ml of probiotics (B), ducks given drinking water + 5 ml of probiotics (C). The variables observed were : ration consumption, drinking water consumption, initial body weight, final body weight, weight gain, and Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR). The results of this study showed that in general the performance of ducks that were given probiotics tended to be higher than the controls as the increasing of the levels given, but statistically not significantlydifferent (P>0,05). Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the administration of combination probioticBacillus subtilis strain BR2CL and Bacillus sp. strain BT3CL in drinking waterat the level of2,5 ml and 5 ml/head/day not yet improve the performance of female bali ducks 8 weeks of age fed ration containing green been sprout peel flour. Abstract

This research hass been done in Mr. Budiono house which stay in Sidorejo Village, Rowokangkung District, Lumajang City, and this research in 1,5 mounth. This research progam is used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatment and 4 repetition and the contained in every repetition is 15 egg duck. P0 treatment as control (duck egg sprayed with warm water 38 oC), P1 (salt solution with dose 10 g/liter warm water 38 oC), P2 (salt solution with dose 20 g/liter warm water 38 oC), P3 (salt solution with dose 30 g/liter warm water 38 oC). The variable observed is egg weight, eeg indexs, fertility, egg shrinkage, DOD weight, mortality and hatchability. The result of research indicate the influence of spraying hybrid duck eeg with salt water to P0, P1 treatment and P3 not diffirent obvious (P>0,05) toward eeg weight, eeg index, fertility, eeg shrinkage and DOD weight but on P2 treatment real influence (P<0,05) toward mortality and hatchability. The conclusion of this research is influence of spraying hybrid egg duck with salt water on control consentration (P0), 10 g/liter warm water 38 oC (P1), and 30 g/liter warm water 38 oC (P3) hass not effect toward egg weight, egg index, fertility, shrinkage and DOD weight, but salt consentration 20 g/liter warm water 38 oC (P2) reduce embrio mortality during hatchability processed and increase egg hatchability. Abstract

Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian probiotik melalui air minum terhadap distribusi lemak abdominal itik betina telah dilaksanakan di Laboraturium Sesetan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Udayana selama 8 minggu. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri atas tiga perlakuan yaitu : Itik yang diberi air minum tanpa probiotik sebagai kontrol (A), itik yang diberi air minum + 2,5 ml probiotik (B), itik yang diberi air minum + 5 ml probiotik (C). Masing–masing perlakuan terdiri atas lima ulangan dan setiap ulangan menggunakan tiga ekor itik bali betina umur 3 hari dengan bobot rata-rata. Variabel yang diamati adalah berat dan persentase lemak bantalan, berat dan persentase lemak mesentrium, berat dan persentase lemak empedal, serta berat dan persentase lemak abdomen. Hasil penelitian menunukkan bahwa pemberian probiotik kombinasi bakteri Bacillus subtillis strain BR2CL dan Bacillus sp strain BT3CL melalui air minum sebanyak 2,5 ml/ekor/hari belum mampu mempengaruhi distribusi lemak abdominal itik bali betina umur 8 minggu, namun pemberian probiotik sebanyak 5 ml/ekor/hari mengakibatkan terjadinya peningkatan berat lemak bantalan (pad fat) dan berat lemak empedal (ventriculus fat), namun tidak mempengaruhi variabel lemak abdominal lainnya. Kata kunci : Probiotik, itik bali betina, distribusi lemak abdominal.

Abstract

Recently, the term of entrepreneurship is more used, as it is universal in its application, and fits to the context of cultivating entrepreneurship movement and create more Indonesian entrepreneurial thinkers, to develop successful business. The success of agribusiness cannot be determined by farmers alone, but it is a resultant of the synergy between livestock businesses and companies that produce infrastructures and facilities and of companies in processing and marketing their production, as well as their supporting components of agribusiness. This research aims to study and analyze the relationship between entrepreneurial thinking and agribusiness management of dairy farmers and their successful dairy farmings. This research was carried out in Pagerwojo District, Tulungagung, East Java with 35 dairy farmers as repondents. This research used simple random sampling, a simple random method. The results showed that measurement scale used was 1-5 to determine the score of a group of dairy farmers regarding their entrepreneurial thinking; the success of the dairy cattle businesses in Pagerwojo District, Tulungagung, was 5% that was considered as good, shown by the calving interval was 15 ± 2,3 months and flock size was 6 cattle per household or scoring of 3.59%, while the amount of milk production was 3.46%, the number of housing was 4.06% and the growth status was 2, 97%. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan pemberian coating minyak zaitun, dan perlakuan coating minyak kelapa sebagai dasar untuk mempertahankan kualitas serta daya simpan telur ayam ras. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknologi Hasil Ternak dan Mikrobiologi Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Udayana, berlokasi di Jalan P.B Sudirman, Denpasar. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 40 hari. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial terdiri atas 2 faktor yaitu; faktor pertama adalah telur dengan coating yaitu telur dengan perlakuan tanpa coating (TC), telur dengan perlakuan coating minyak zaitun (DCz), dan telur dengan perlakuan coating minyak kelapa (DCk). Faktor kedua adalah lama simpan pada suhu ruang (27) yaitu penyimpanan hari ke-0, 10, 20, 30, dan 40. Dengan 3 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, dan setiap ulangan menggunakan 3 butir telur ayam lohmann brown sehingga jumlah telur yang digunakan sebanyak 180 butir telur. Variabel yang diamati adalah berat telur, warna kuning telur, indeks kuning telur, haugh unit, dan pH telur. Data yang diperoleh di analisis menggunakan ANOVA dan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan coating minyak zaitun dan coating minyak kelapa dimasa simpan 30 dan 40 hari terhadap berat telur, warna kuning telur, indeks kuning telur, dan haugh unit memiliki hasil yang berbeda nyata (P<0,05) lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan tanpa coating, sedangkan pH telur dari perlakuan coating minyak zaitun dan coating minyak kelapa lebih rendah dibandingkan perlakuan tanpa coating namun memberikan hasil yang berbeda nyata (P<0,05). Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan coating minyak zaitun dan minyak kelapa dapat meningkatkan kualitas telur dan daya simpan ayam ras sampai 30 dan 40 hari. Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of eggs from coating using Ziziphus mauritiana fruit extracts stored for 28 days. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Products Technology, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University. Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of 4 treatments, 3 treatments coating of Z.mauritiana fruit extract: DC (1: 1) = with coating (1 part extract: 1 part distilled water); DC (1: 2) = with coating (1 part extract: 2 parts distilled water); DC (1: 3) = with coating (1 part extract: 3 parts distilled water) and 1 treatment without coating (TC), each treatment contains 36 eggs, 144 eggs are needed for the four treatments. Every week, analysis of egg quality was carried out (each treatment and each week of observation, nine eggs were available). The results of the statistical analysis of this study showed that during 28 days of storage, the eggs of the Z. mauritiana fruit extract treatment affected changes in egg weight, yolk index, albumen index and had not affected yolk colour, HU, and egg pH, compared to the uncoated treatment. Based on the results of statistical analysis, it was concluded that the quality of eggs stored for 28 days in DC 1: 3 treatment (1 part of Z. mauritiana fruit extract with 3 parts of distilled water) had the best egg quality in terms of albumen index, yolk index and yolk colour, compared with the other three treatments.
