Abstract

This study aims to determine the production of quail carcasses aged 10 weeks given dragon fruit peel juice. This research was conducted in January 2021 at Mr. Anwar House, Pasraman Unud Housing, Blok F-30 and Poultry Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University. The design used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. The four treatments were: water without dragon fruit peel juice or control (P0), drinking water given dragon fruit peel juice as much as 1% (P1), 2% (P2), and 3% (P3). The variables observed were cut weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage and carcass weight part (chest, back, wings, thighs). The results of giving dragon fruit peel juice in this study showed that the cut weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage and carcass weight part (chest, back, wings, thighs) were not significantly different (P> 0,05) on addition of dragon fruit peel juice 1%, 2% and 3% . The conclusion of this study shows that giving dragon fruit peel juice (Hylocereus polyrhizus) with a concentration of 1%, 2% and 3% in drinking water has no effect on cut weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and carcass weight part (chest, back, wings, thigh) 10 week old Coturnix-coturnix japonica quail. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using fish oil in the ration on the percentage of non-carcass broiler chickens. This research was conducted in Dusun Pande, Dajan Peken Village, Tabanan Regency, for six weeks. The chicken used is a 2 week old broiler chicken. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and seven replications, each replication contained two broilers, so the number of chickens used was 42 chickens. The treatments were (P0) broiler chickens which were given feed with additional 0% fish oil, (P1) broiler chickens which were given feed with additional 3% fish oil and (P2) broiler chickens which were given feed with additional 6% fish oil. The variables observed were the percentage of heart, rampella, small intestine, liver, head, and feet. treatment P0 is 0.346%. The percentage of treatment heart (P2) 78.90% was significantly higher than that of treatment P0. The heart percentage of broiler chickens that received treatment (P1) was 16.76% higher than that of treatment P0, but it was not statistically significant, while the percentage of other non-carcasses (gizzard, small intestine, liver, head, and feet) showed no difference. the real one. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of fish oil as much as 3% and 6% in the six-week old broiler ration could not affect the percentage of rampella, small intestine, liver, head and feet of broiler chickens, but there was an increase in the percentage of broiler chicken hearts in the use of fish oil. as much as 6%. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan nutrien silase jerami jagung yang difermentasi menggunakan inokulum bakteri lignoselulolitik. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari September sampai Oktober 2020 bertempat di Farm Sesetan dan Laboratorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Udayana. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari enam perlakuan yaitu: jerami jagung difermentasi tanpa inokulum bakteri lignoselulolitik sebagai kontrol (JP0), jerami jagung difermentasi inokulum Bacillus substilis BR4LG (JP1), jerami jagung difermentasi inokulum Bacillus substilis BR2CL (JP2), jerami jagung difermentasi inokulum Aneurinibacillus sp. BT4LS (JP3), jerami jagung difermentasi inokulum Bacillus sp. BT3CL (JP4), jerami jagung difermentasi inokulum Bacillus sp. BT8XY (JP5). Masing-masing perlakuan memiliki 4 ulangan. Variabel yang diamati yaitu, bahan kering (BK), bahan organik (BO), protein kasar (PK), serat kasar (SK), lemak kasar (LK) dan abu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan inokulum bakteri lignoselulolitik mampu meningkatan (P<0,05) kandungan protein kasar, lemak kasar dan bahan anorganik/abu serta menurunkan (P<0,05) kandungan serat kasar silase jerami jagung, namun tidak mempengaruhi kandungan bahan kering dan bahan organik (P>0,05). Penggunaan inokulum bakteri Aneurinibacillus sp. BT4LS (JP3) menghasilkan silase dengan bahan protein kasar tertinggi (P<0,05) sedangkan Penggunaan inokulum bakteri Bacillus substilis BR2CL (JP2) menghasilkan silase dengan serat kasar terendah (P<0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan inokulum bakteri lignoselulolitik mampu meningkatkan kandungan nutrien khususnya protein kasar, lemak kasar, dan abu, serta menurunkan kandungan serat kasar dari silase jerami jagung. Abstract

The effect of probiotics mix of Bacillus subtilis strain BR2CL and Bacillus sp. strain BT3CL through drinking water to a piece of bali duck commercial carcass with feed ingredient is flour of green bean sprout peels . The research was held for two mounth at Farm Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Udayana at Sesetan farm located on Jalan Raya Sesetan, Gang Markisa number 5, Kelurahan Sesetan, Kecamatan Denpasar Selatan, Kota Denpasar. The design was used a completely random design (CRD) consisting of three treatment and five tests. The treatment was given for the ducks without being given probiotics through drinking water (A), the ducks feed with a mix of Bacillus subtilis strain BR2CL and Bacillus sp. BT3CL through drinking water as much as 2,5 ml (B), ducks were given probiotic mix of Bacillus subtilis strain BR2CL and Bacillus sp. BT3CL through drinking water as much as 5ml (C). The observe of variables were included weight and percentage of commercial carcass pieces of upper thighs, lower thighs, wings, chest and back. The results showed that added a probiotics mix Bacillus subtilis strain BR2CL and Bacillus sp. BT3CL given rations containing mung bean flour sprouts can produce weight and percentage of carcasses of the upper thighs, lower thighs, wings, breast and back of Bali ducks by giving 2.5ml-5ml not significantly different (P> 0.05). Based on research results can be concluded that adding a probiotics mix Bacillus subtilis strain BR2CL and Bacillussp. strain BT3CL haven’t effect on weight and percentage of commercial carcass pieces of upper thighs, lower thighs, wings, breasts and backs of Bali ducks. Abstract

Milk is one of the livestock products that has a complete and balanced nutritional content. Each type of milk has different qualities depending on its physical, chemical, and microbiological properties. This study aims to determine the milk quality of peranakan etawah (PE) at different time storage at room temperature in terms of physicochemical and microbiological properties. Milk samples were obtained from peranakan etawah (PE) farms in Sepang Village, Busung Biu District, Buleleng Regency. The research was conducted for one month from June to July 2018. The design used was a completely randomized design consisting of 3 treatments and 4 replications. The three treatments were 0 hours of storage time (L0), 4 hours of storage time (L4), and 6 hours of storage time (L6), so that there were 12 experimental units. The variables observed in this study were total acid, specific gravity, color, and coliform bacteria. Data obtained from this study were analyzed using annova, if there were significant differences (P<0.05) the analysis was continued by Duncan's multiple range test. The results showed that the different specific gravity was not significant (P>0.05), while the duration of L4 and L6 storage respectively in the total acid test (20.00% and 26.45%) and the number of coliform bacteria (44.26% and 36.59%) showed a significant increase (P<0.05). For milk color significantly decreased (P<0.05), where L4 (5.47%) and L6 (6.61%) were lower than L0. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the specific gravity is not affected, while the total acid, milk color, and coliform bacteria are affected by the storage time at room temperature. Abstract

This study aims to find out the chemical characteristics of processed sui wu'u pork preserved with addition of corn flour in different concentrations. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Product Technology & Microbiology and Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Feed Faculty of Animal Husbandry Udayana University in September-November 2020. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and five replications. The three treatments: landrace pork which was preserved with the addition of 0.5 kg of corn flour (P1), landrace pork which was preserved with the addition of 1 kg of corn flour (P2), landrace pork which was preserved with the addition of 1 kg of corn flour 1.5 kg (P3). The research data were analyzed using variance (anova) and if the treatment had a significant effect, it was continued with Duncan test. The variables observed were moisture content, protein content, fat content, and ash content. The results of the chemical test of landrace pork preserved by traditional preservation of sui wu’u with the addition of different corn flour showed no significant differences, with the average moisture content (P1: 59.79%, P2: 54.99%, P3: 51.20%), protein content (P1: 19.69% P2: 22.07%, P3: 26.30%), fat content (P1: 13.37%, P2: 15.49%, P3: 17.02%), and ash content (P1: 2.63%, P2: 2.19%, P3: 2.55%). Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the addition of different corn flour has no significant effect on the chemical quality of landrace pork so that in this study the effectiveness of using corn flour was sufficient in the P1 treatment with the addition of 0.5 kg in the sui wu'u preservation method. Abstract

The purpose of the study is to knowing effect of giving peel dragon fruit juice to weight of offal external in chicken through water White Gold X Lancy. This research had been conducted chicken that in animal husbandry in Cekomaria Street, Banjar Kedua, Peguyangan Kangin, Denpasar City, Bali during 8 weeks. The design used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 repeating and in every repeating consisted of 3 crossbred chickens White Gold X Lancy. The treatments are, R0: Without addition of dragon fruit peel juice through drinking water, R1: Addition of 5% dragon fruit peel juice through drinking water, R2: Addition 10% of dragon fruit peel juice through drinking water and R3: Addition of 15% of dragon fruit peel juice through drinking water. The observed variables were head weight, neck weight, leg weight, blood weight, and hair weight. The results showed that treatments R1, R2, and R3 had a higher weight on the head, neck and legeach 4,71%, 4,21% and 8,83% than R0 significant different (P<0,05), but not significant different (P>0,05) weight on the bload and hair weight. Based on the result, it can be concluded that addition of dragon fruit peel as much as 5%, 10% and 15% affacted weight of head, neck and foot but not affected weight of blood and hair crossing chicken White Gold X Lancy aged 6-14 weeks. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat fisik, kecernaan, dan produk fermentasi rumen secara in-vitro silase jerami padi yang menggunakan biokatalis bakteri lignoselulolitik. Studi dilaksanakan di Farm Sesetan dan Laboratorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Udayana yang dilakukan mulai bulan Januari-Maret 2020. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 6 perlakuan yaitu silase jerami padi tanpa biokatalis bakteri lignoselulolitik sebagai kontrol (JP0), menggunakan biokatalis bakteri Bacillus substilis BR4LG (JP1), menggunakan biokatalis bakteri Bacillus substilis BR2CL (JP2), menggunakan biokatalis bakteri Aneurinibacillus sp. BT4LS (JP3), menggunakan biokatalis bakteri Bacillus sp. BT3CL (JP4), dan menggunakan biokatalis bakteri Bacillus sp. BT8XY (JP5). Masing-masing perlakuan memiliki 3 ulangan. Variabel yang diamati yaitu sifat fisik, kecernaan, dan produk fermentasi rumen. Data dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, perlakuan JP2 secara kuantitatif memiliki densitas tertinggi (P>0,05) sebesar 0,166g/ml. Perlakuan JP4 secara kuantitatif memiliki persentase daya serap air tertinggi (P>0,05) sebesar 369,55% dan menghasilkan persentase daya larut air dan N-NH3 tertinggi (P<0,05) masing-masing sebesar 85,75% dan 12,39 mM. Perlakuan JP1 menghasilkan persentase KcBK dan KcBO tertinggi (P<0,05) masing-masing sebesar 51,55% dan 54,21%. Perlakuan JP5 menghasilkan VFA Total tertinggi (P<0,05) sebesar 180,52 mM. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan biokatalis bakteri lignoselulolitik dapat memperbaiki sifat fisik khususnya daya larut air serta meningkatkan kecernaan dan produk fermentasi rumen secara in-vitro dari silase jerami padi. Biokatalis bakteri terbaik dalam penelitian adalah Bacillus substilis BR4LG menghasilkan KcBK dan KcBO tertinggi dan Bacillus sp. BT3CL menghasilkan daya larut air dan N-NH3 tertinggi. Abstract

`Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan jenis minyak dalam ransum terhadap potongan karkas itik Bali jantan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Dajan Peken, Tabanan selama 10 minggu. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan serta tiap ulangan berisi 2 ekor itik Bali jantan dengan kisaran berat 223±19,36g. Perlakuan tersebut terdiri dari R0= penggunaan 0% minyak dalam ransum, R1= penggunaan 3% minyak kelapa sawit dalam ransum, R2= penggunaan 3% minyak ikan dalam ransum, R3= penggunaan 3% minyak jelantah dalam ransum, dan R4= penggunaan 3% minyak babi dalam ransum. Ransum penelitian diberikan pada itik dengan kandungan energi metabolis 2.900Kkal/kg dan protein 18%. Variabel yang diamati adalah bobot potong, berat karkas, persentase karkas, dan persentase potongan karkas yang meliputi dada, paha, betis, sayap, dan punggung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa bobot potong, berat karkas, persentase karkas, dan persentase potongan karkas tidak dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan minyak kelapa sawit, minyak ikan, minyak jelantah, dan minyak babi dalam ransumse banyak 3% dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan minyak dosis 3% dalam ransum tidak berpengaruh terhadap bobot potong, berat karkas, persentase karkas, dan persentase potongan karkas itik Bali jantan. Abstract

The study aimed to determine the chemical quality of rice straw silage supplemented with gliricidia and calliandra leaves. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of four (4) treatments and each treatment was repeated five (5) times. The treatments given were: P0 (90% rice straw + 5% molasses + 5% polar), P1 (60% rice straw + 30% gamal leaves + 5% molasses + 5% polar), P2 (60% rice straw + 15 % gamal leaves + 15% calliandra leaves + 5% molasses + 5% polar) and P3 (60% rice straw + 30% calliandra leaves + 5% molasses + 5% polar). The variables observed in the study were chemical quality, namely: dry matter content, water content, organic matter, ash content, crude protein, crude fiber, gross energy, crude fat, TDN and BETN. Chemical quality of P1 treatment is 94,667% dry matter, 5,333% water content, 84,934% organic matter, 15,066 ash content, 17,759% crude protein, 23,355% crude fiber, 3,800 Kcal/g gross energy, 5,726% crude fat, 31,832% TDN and 32,761% BETN. The chemical quality of P2 treatment is 95.692% dry matter, 4.308% water content, 87.625% organic matter, 12.3755 ash content, 14.277% crude protein, 21.196% crude fiber, 4.041 Kcal/g gross energy, 4.989% crude fat, 35.757% TDN and 42.854% BETN. The chemical quality of P3 treatment is 96,644% dry matter, 3,356% water content, 87,353% organic matter, 12,647% ash content, 15,102 crude proyein, 22,029 crude fiber, 4,011 Kcal/g gross energy, 3,735 crude fat, 32,519a TDN and 43,131 BETN. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that gliricidia and calliandra leaf supplementation can improve the chemical quality of rice straw silage.
