Abstract

The rise of innovation and technological development has triggered a revolution in the financial sector with a new 'non-centralized' system. The purpose of this study is to comprehend the idea of decentralized finance and pinpoint its advantages. Using literature sources, this study employs a qualitative descriptive methodology. Books, periodicals, and other publications are examples of secondary data. According to the study's findings, DeFi has five maslahah: 1) Maintain religion (hifzu al-din); 2) Preserve the soul (hifzu an-nafs); 3) Preserve offspring (hifzu al-nasl); 4) Preserve the intellect (hifzu al-'aql); and 5) Preserve property (hifzu al-maal). These principles align with technology and the development aspects of the era of Society 5.0. Consequently, it is advised that the government implement a regulation utilizing blockchain technology in the banking industry.

Abstract

Indonesia, with its rich diversity and sizable Muslim population, holds a prominent position in global Islamic finance. Financial ratios like ROA, CAR, NPF, FDR, BOPO, and NOM are crucial for assessing bank performance. Employing Gaussian Mixture Model with Intervention Analysis enhances evaluation by identifying outliers and understanding their impact.Utilizing Islamic Banking Statistics from January to December 2023, this research employs purposive sampling to select relevant variables like CAR, NPF, FDR, BOPO, NOM, and ROA. Gaussian Mixture Model identifies data patterns, while Intervention Analysis examines factors affecting Islamic banking performance.Financial performance analysis reveals shifts from "Good Performance" to "Bad Performance" starting June 2023, linked to deteriorating metrics like NPF, FDR, and BOPO. Evaluation via GMM yields an AIC of 435.3409, indicating effective classification. Intervention analysis identifies significant NPF and ROA outliers, suggesting potential issues in loan quality and profitability.Analysis via GMM highlights performance dynamics in Islamic commercial banks, transitioning from "Good" to "Bad" post-June, mirroring critical metric shifts. Stable CAR indicates a solid base, but NPF outliers suggest risk management enhancements. BOPO outliers indicate inefficiencies, while ROA emphasizes profitability. Policy interventions should focus on risk management, cost efficiency, and profitability to sustain stability and competitiveness.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the halal lifestyle has begun to be widely implemented by Muslim communities since the government required halal certification for products circulating in Indonesia. However, do Muslim communities implement a halal lifestyle because of their awareness of religious commands, or do they follow trends and are influenced by branding? Therefore, this research aims to determine the influence of branding, trends and needs on implementing halal Lifestyles in daily life by Muslim communities in Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative, descriptive-comparative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by distributing questionnaires and conducting expert interviews. Questionnaires were distributed to 300 respondents according to the criteria set by the researcher. As a result, the needs variable has the highest score with a total of 4.50 (very strong), while branding gets a score of 4.13 (intense), and the trends variable gets a score of 1.70 (very weak). Based on interviews with experts, the Muslim community in Indonesia agrees and recognizes that a halal lifestyle is not just branding or a trend. However, a halal lifestyle is an obligation that Muslims must carry out according to the commands in the Al-Qur'an and Hadith. For Muslims, adopting a halal lifestyle is worship and is worth a reward. In conclusion, a halal lifestyle is included

Abstract

Banking in Aceh, one of the provinces in Indonesia, has a unique system known as the single banking system. This article aims to explore the emergence, growth, and prospects of this system in Aceh. The research was conducted using primary and secondary data sources. Primary data was obtained through interviews with experts consisting of academics, bankers, and Islamic banking observers in Aceh. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from published and unpublished documents. The research results reveal that the Qanun for Sharia Financial Institutions introduced a single window system in Aceh in 2018. However, the implementation of this system faces significant challenges due to the lack of banking infrastructure and human resources. Despite its potential benefits, the prospects for a single banking system remain uncertain as it could lead to a monopoly of banking services, given the limited banking services currently available. Nevertheless, the single banking system has the potential to increase efficiency and simplify processes, making banking services more accessible and convenient for customers in Aceh.

Abstract

The advent of the digital age has engendered profound societal transformations, among which is the proliferation of digital investment platforms. Robo Advisors, powered by artificial intelligence, offer investment counsel to investors, promising a sense of security through judicious strategies. Robo-advisors are a cost-effective alternative to traditional financial consultants, enjoying widespread adoption due to their accessibility. This research investigates the influence of human bias on investors' irrational decision-making processes, alongside discerning potential disparities between users and non-users of robo advisors. A quantitative study was conducted to address these inquiries, involving a sample of 123 participants. Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares was employed as the data analysis technique. The findings reveal that overconfidence and loss aversion bias significantly impact the irrationality levels observed in individual investors' decision-making processes. Furthermore, no discernible differences were observed between robo-advisor users and non-users concerning the influence of overconfidence and loss aversion bias on investment decision-making within the research framework.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of standalone CSR reports, GRI standards, and external assurance services on the quality of ESG sustainability reports between 2 sectors, namely the manufacturing and banking sectors. The data used in this study were 47 banking sectors and 163 manufacturing sectors. The results of this study are expected to provide an understanding of cross-sector sustainability and assist stakeholders regarding information on sustainable reporting practices. This study contributes, firstly, by providing evidence on the level of quality of sustainability reporting in two different sectors, namely the banking and manufacturing sectors. Secondly, this study focuses on standalone CSR disclosures, the use of GRI standards, and external assurance services. The findings show that the quality of ESG sustainability reports in the banking sector is more influenced by external assurance services. Banking companies assume that external assurance services can improve the credibility and quality of sustainability report information if the assurance process is carried out with a focus on meeting stakeholder needs and based on applicable assurance principles and standards. Meanwhile, in the manufacturing sector, the quality of ESG sustainability reports in banking companies is more influenced by their own CSR reports. CSR presented by a separate company is an important type of report because it shows the company's commitment to addressing environmental issues.
