Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan aspek penting dalam instrumen pembelajaran anak usia dini (generasi milenial) karena seiring dengan berkembangnya tantangan lingkungan, pergaulan sosial dan teknologi. Pembelajaran inovatif merujuk pada bagaimana pengajar mampu memberikan input materi pada anak secara mudah, ruang teknologi memberikan peluang sinergi kurikulum dan teknologi dikembangkan untuk membangun karakter pada anak salah satunya adalah induksi karakter berbudi pekerti luhur melalui penyampaian cerita dan dongeng. Arah penelitian ini adalah melakukan studi perbandingan metode induksi pengetahuan dan karakter luhur anak usia dini melalui pendekatan cerita oral klasikal, penggunaan boneka mikro dan pendekatan induksi pendidikan melalui game interaktif. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan nilai Pillai, Wilk?s Lambda, Hotelling dan Roy?s (0,171) dengan inteprestasi keefektifan penggunaan metode cerita oral, mikro dongeng dan game simulasi untuk pendidikan karakter berbudi pekerti luhur secara bersama ? sama yang ditinjau dari jenis kelaminnya tidak ada perbedaan, namun dari capaian rata-rata (mean) ketiga metode tersebut dalam penggunaan induksi tokoh-tokoh animasi pada simulasi game petualangan interaktif adalah yang paling tinggi (84,08).

Abstract

Parents are the first and the most important social environment in a child?s life. This study aimed at describing parents? involvement at early childhood education institutions in Buleleng district, Buleleng regency, Bali. The data of the study were collected from 230 respondents at early childhood education institutions and were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that most of the respondents had a tendency of a low involvement, i.e. , 136 respondents ( 59.1%) , while the number of respondents  with a high involvement was  94 ( 49.9%).  This indicates that there are still many parents who ignore the importance of parents? role at school. In addition, the school has not yet got a program that maximally supports parents at school.

Abstract

Educational play equipment (APE) is a tool that was made intentionally so that it can be used as a means or play tool, which contains several educational values, and can develop several aspects of child development in a single, multipurpose and safe tool for children. The purpose of this research is to apply and apply an APE named Smart Book, which can support six aspects of the development of children aged 3-6 years. The study was conducted in November and carried out at the Playgroup and Kindergarten Star Kids Yogyakarta. Smart book APE has been designed and in it there are several materials such as the introduction of colors, numbers, letters, professions, prayer times, sequence Sholat, ablution and so on. The focus of this research is to describe the facts of the use of APE smart books that can support six aspects of the development of children aged 3-6 years. The results obtained were based on observations of the implementation of the use of APE  smart books in Palygroup and Kindergarten Star Kids Yogyakarta, that six aspects of child development can be developed through smart books, namely cognitive, fine motor, language, religious, and social emotional aspects. Abstract

This study aims to improve the science process skills of Early Childhood towards Primary School in RA Daarut Taqwa, Mulyasari Village, Tasikmalaya City, through the application of creative science games (CSG). CSG is a series of interesting games in the form of Apple Spinner and Magic Coin. The method used in this research is the action research method. The action research design of the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model consists of four components which include planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The results of this study indicate that the application of creative science games can improve science process skills in RA Daarut Taqwa, Mulyasari Village, Tasikmalaya City. Science process skills that emerge and increase are the child's confidence, the process of observing objects / objects or the environment, the process of classifying objects / objects based on color, shape, size or other characteristics, the ability to explore, ask questions, express temporary presumptions, make conclusions , share experiences, and listen to the opinions of others.

Abstract

This study has a purpose to determine the satisfaction level of early childhood educational institutions on the performance of the teachers as alumni from early childhood educational program, to find out which competencies are considered to be the main aspirations by early childhood educational institutions in Central Java Province. This research has a target to get a complete overview about the satisfaction level of the institutions to the alumni as a chance to improve the quality of graduates from Early Childhood Educational Study Program of Faculty of Education in Semarang State University.The initial phase of the study, a survey was conducted at a number of Early Childhood Educational institutions spread across 35 cities and/or regencies in Central Java, to identify and find out whether there are graduates from Early Childhood Educational Study Program of Faculty of Education in Semarang State University who works as teacher at these institutions. In the second stage, the researchers did a mapping to determine which institutions will be used as research samples. The third phase of research was conducted to acquire understanding of the satisfaction level from the samples. The target which was aimed in this research is to develop curriculum in order to improve the quality of graduates. From the analysis result of the study, it showed that Early Childhood Educational institutions were satisfied with the performance of the graduates of Early Childhood Educational Study Program of Faculty of Education in Semarang State University which reached (58.41%). Early Childhood Educational institutions in Central Java would expect that the personality competence to be the first priority to be developed in the Early Childhood Educational Study Program in Semarang State University (36.84%), while the second priority is pedagogical competence (39.48%), professional competence (2.63%) becomes third priority and social competence (21.05%) become the last priority which need to be developed.

Abstract

The investigation is inspired by the cultural diversity of Indonesia, particularly the local contents in Semarang implemented through the world of early-childhood education. The study aims to identify the implementation of local contents in the arts learning in a play group in Gunung pati Semarang. This is theoretical study conducted in two phases as the strategies for field study implementation. The structured observation was conducted through documents, portfolio, questionnaires studies, and in-depth interviews. The data analysis was conducted thematically through date triangulation. The object was selected through purposive sampling of all populations totalled 47 play groups, then 14 were selected. The local contents were implemented in the arts learning in play groups in Gunungpati. The local contents comprise fine arts, dances, and music. Those contents were taken from the local cultures in Semarang in general and they reflect the local culture in Gunungpati.

Abstract

This study investigated the influence of social/mass media as agent of change on childhood social pedagogy and academic achievement in Lagos, Nigeria. Specifically this study examined the impact of social/mass media on early age children social pedagogy and the aftermath effect on their academic achievement in Lagos, Nigeria. The research design was a descriptive type of survey. The sampling technique adopted was purposive and used to sample the population from upper primary school pupils of age 6 to 9 years. This age range can respond to the instrument of the research with free mind. Respondents to the validated questionnaire of reliability index of 0.87 were 490 pupils of 240 boys and 250 girls from ten Nursery and Primary schools in Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos. Three research objectives were raised for the study. Simple percentages and charts were used to represent and analyse the responses from the respondents. The findings show that the social/mass media especially the android phone and television were powerful devices that influence the lives of early age pupils. It teaches them on how to relate with their environment, improve their performance in school and also a means where they cultivate negative attitudes towards people. Conclusively, the media content effect on young pupils depends on the upbringing, because they react to social/mass media differently and are not influenced the same way. Hence, the type of media contents they exposed to should be monitored in other not to be influenced adversely.

Abstract

This study aims to examine Piaget's cognitive theory of early childhood readiness to enter elementary school. The method used is quantitative descriptive, using samples of early childhood selected based on the criteria of 5 years of age. The results of the study were processed using statistical calculations. The results obtained were that the instruments developed were effective enough to test cognitive readiness of early childhood in elementary school entrance examinations. In addition, the average tested child has a fairly good readiness but requires guidance by the teacher so that his cognitive abilities develop optimally.

Abstract

The benefit of storytelling activity to children’s skill development is to provide a positive contribution to children’s language skill. This research aimed to determine the impact of the picture book to the storytelling skill of children aged 4-5 years. The research subjects consisted of two kindergartens in Yogyakarta (Pringwulung and Cempaka kindergarten) Indonesia. The participants are 40 children. The data were used quasi-experimental research design. The research data obtained were analyzed with t-test through SPSS 16 program to see the differences between the experimental group and the control group. The result of this research was a significant influence of using picture book on the storytelling skill of preschool children. The recommendation from the result of this research was provided to parents and teachers particularly to develop children’s communication skill and practitioner in the discussion that especially emphasized addressing the need to increase opportunities for storytelling skill of preschool children in good stimulation.

Abstract

Religious assessments in Indonesian Kindergartens must be based on the applicable curriculum. For schools based on certain religions, there is no difficulty in evaluating religion. But it is different with the National Kindergarten school that has children with different religious backgrounds. This is the reason the researchers conducted research on how to carry out religious assessments at the TK Yayasan Wanita Kereta Api (YWKA) Yogyakarta National Foundation. The purpose of this reseach are to describes implementation and process assessment for Islamic and Catholic religious values development in Yayasan Wanita Kereta Api’s National School. The type of this research is qualitative. The method used is participant observation. The results and discussion show that the implementation of assessments of the development of Islamic and Catholic values of children aged 4-6 years at YWKA Yogyakarta Kindergarten is the implementation of assessments of Islamic religious values using performance sheets by assessing religious education, creed, and morals seen from the process of evaluating reading Iqro '. The process of assessing Catholic religious values using anecdotal notes. The results of children's religious values are known to develop as expected (BSH). Therefore despite these different beliefs, the development of children's religious values is good and is in line with educational goals.
