Abstract

Team effectiveness is widely regarded as a key determinant of organizational success, including in student organizations whose programs are largely carried out through collective teamwork. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of team building on the effectiveness of work teams among students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bandung who are active in student organizations. The study employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive-verificative design. Primary data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to students who had participated in team-building activities and were directly involved in organizational teamwork. The collected data were tested for validity and reliability, followed by classical assumption tests, before being analyzed using simple linear regression to determine the direction and strength of the relationship between the two variables. The results show that team building falls into the good category (TCR 81.2%), as does work team effectiveness (TCR 80.8%). Team building was found to have a positive and significant effect on work team effectiveness (t = 9.823; sig. = 0.000), accounting for 77.5% of its variance (R Square = 0.775). These findings confirm that better implementation of team building corresponds to higher work team effectiveness, and are expected to provide practical input for student organization leaders in designing more focused team-development programs.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine the simultaneous interaction effect of organizational political dynamics and the use of leader power on the emergence of employee silence. Workplace silence is not merely a form of passivity, but a strategic and rational decision by employees to withhold vital information due to significant sociopolitical risks. This research employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, adopting the eight structured stages of the Okoli (2015) protocol. Through this method, the study filtered and analyzed 24 relevant empirical and theoretical literatures. The review concludes that a work environment dominated by negative political maneuvers acts as a situational vulnerability vessel. This vulnerability turns into a crisis when leaders respond to these dynamics using a repressive, coercion-based leadership style (hard power). The convergence of this toxic culture and destructive leadership directly destroys psychological safety and triggers severe emotional exhaustion, forcing employees to remain silent as a self-defense mechanism. This study provides managerial implications regarding the importance of mitigating the political climate, transforming towards adaptive leadership, and providing reporting channels that guarantee employees' psychological safety.

Abstract

The dynamic organizational environment requires companies to understand the factors influencing employees' work behavior, including personality traits associated with The Dark Triad, namely Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy. This study aims to analyze the influence of Dark Triad characteristics on the work behavior of Generation Z employees in modern organizational settings. The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using a descriptive approach through the identification, selection, and synthesis of relevant scientific literature. The findings indicate that Dark Triad characteristics are associated with higher levels of Counterproductive Work Behavior (CWB), poorer interpersonal relationships, workplace ostracism, and unethical behavior in the workplace. Among the three dimensions, Machiavellianism is identified as the most dominant predictor of counterproductive work behavior due to individuals' tendency toward manipulation and self-interest. In addition, Early Maladaptive Schemas contribute to explaining these behavioral tendencies. These findings highlight the importance of considering personality traits in human resource management practices to foster a productive, collaborative, and ethical work environment for Generation Z employees.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of transformational leadership style and organizational culture on employee productivity in the nursing division of Rumah Sakit (RS) Rumah Sehat Terpadu (RST) Dompet Dhuafa Bogor. The research employed a quantitative method with descriptive and verification approach, involving 126 respondents from a population of 185 nursing staff. Data collection utilized structured questionnaires with a 5-point Likert scale, while data analysis employed multiple linear regression techniques. The findings revealed that transformational leadership demonstrated a positive and significant impact on employee productivity with a contribution of 32.1%, while organizational culture contributed 20.9%. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influenced employee productivity with a combined contribution of 53.1%. The idealized influence dimension scored highest in transformational leadership, while team orientation emerged as the strongest aspect of organizational culture. Employee productivity showed good performance overall, particularly in work enthusiasm. The study concludes that effective leadership practices and supportive organizational culture are crucial determinants in enhancing nursing productivity. Organizations should focus on strengthening transformational leadership development programs and cultivating employee-oriented cultural practices to optimize workforce performance in healthcare settings.
