Abstract

Background. Environmental history in the Indonesian archipelago has often relied on geological data, colonial records, and contemporary environmental reports, leaving indigenous textual traditions underexamined as potential sources of ecological knowledge. Babad Tanah Jawi, a key corpus of ancient Javanese historiographical manuscripts, contains rich descriptions of natural events, celestial signs, and social responses to environmental disruptions, yet its value as an ecological archive has not been systematically explored. Purpose. This study aims to investigate how these manuscripts document patterns of climate variability, environmental calamities, and ecological transformations, and to assess their relevance for reconstructing long-term environmental change in Java. Method. A philological research design was employed to analyze selected manuscript variants through textual criticism, intertextual comparison, and thematic ecological coding. The analysis identified recurrent references to volcanic eruptions, prolonged droughts, exceptional rainfall, crop failures, and shifts in river courses, which align with known geological and climatological data. Results. The findings also highlight indigenous interpretive frameworks that connect environmental disturbances with moral, cosmic, and political meanings, revealing the epistemological foundations through which premodern Javanese societies understood ecological instability. Conclusion. The study concludes that Babad Tanah Jawi offers valuable supplementary evidence for reconstructing historical climate patterns while also enriching contemporary environmental humanities through its integration of cosmology, ecology, and social memory. These insights underscore the importance of indigenous manuscripts as cultural-ecological repositories that can broaden interdisciplinary approaches to climate history, disaster studies, and resilience research.

Abstract

The increasing global demand for Indonesian language learning (BIPA) necessitates systematic, scalable error analysis to optimize pedagogical interventions, a task severely hindered by the limitations of manual correction. This study aimed to develop and validate a specialized Natural Language Processing (NLP) framework to automatically classify linguistic errors in BIPA written output and generate a statistically generalizable error map for curriculum reform. The research employed a corpus-based, developmental design, building a BIPA-Optimized NLP Error Classification Pipeline and validating it on a corpus of over 500,000 words. The model achieved a high F1-score of 0.89. Findings revealed a high error density (7.2 per 100 words), with Affix Misapplication constituting the most resistant obstacle (45% of all errors). Crucially, ANOVA confirmed a non-significant reduction rate of these errors across proficiency levels (p=0.316), indicating that simple exposure is insufficient. The study concludes that the NLP pipeline successfully provides the first objective diagnostic standard for BIPA pedagogy, proving that the difficulty is structural. This mandates an urgent shift toward systematic, targeted remediation strategies focused on the most persistent error sub-types, enabling evidence-based curriculum development.

Abstract

Background. The increasing use of digital learning platforms has highlighted the need for effective and immediate feedback mechanisms. Traditional feedback approaches often suffer from delays and limited personalization, which can hinder students’ learning progress. Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered voice assistants present a promising solution by offering instant, adaptive, and interactive feedback in real time. Purpose. This study aimed to explore the integration of AI-powered voice assistants into digital learning platforms, focusing on their effectiveness in delivering instant student support. Specifically, it examined how such integration impacts students’ learning engagement, perceived usefulness, and satisfaction. Method. A mixed-method approach was employed, involving a survey of 312 university students across three digital learning environments and in-depth interviews with instructors. Quantitative data were analyzed using statistical techniques, while qualitative data provided deeper insights into user experiences. Results. Findings indicate that AI-powered voice assistants significantly enhance students’ perception of feedback immediacy, personalization, and accessibility. Students reported higher motivation and engagement when receiving real-time oral feedback, while instructors emphasized the potential of voice assistants to reduce workload and improve learning efficiency. However, challenges such as speech recognition accuracy and contextual limitations were also noted. Conclusion. The study underscores the transformative role of AI-powered voice assistants in revolutionizing digital feedback systems. Integrating such technology into digital learning platforms has the potential to support more personalized, efficient, and engaging learning experiences. Future implementations should focus on improving natural language processing accuracy and aligning feedback strategies with diverse learning contexts.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of financial technology has reshaped financial markets, creating new opportunities to address sustainability challenges through innovative digital solutions. Green fintech has emerged as a critical intersection between technology, finance, and sustainability, enabling more efficient allocation of capital toward environmentally and socially responsible activities. This study aims to examine the role of green fintech in promoting sustainability within financial markets and to assess how technological innovations contribute to environmental, social, and governance objectives. The research employs a qualitative–quantitative mixed approach, combining a systematic review of recent academic literature with secondary data analysis of green fintech applications, including digital payments, sustainable investment platforms, and climate-risk analytics. The findings indicate that green fintech enhances market transparency, improves access to sustainable finance, and supports better risk assessment related to environmental impacts. Technological tools such as big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and blockchain are shown to strengthen sustainability integration by reducing information asymmetry and transaction costs. The study also reveals that regulatory support and institutional readiness significantly influence the effectiveness of green fintech initiatives. In conclusion, green fintech plays a strategic role in accelerating the transition toward sustainable financial markets by aligning technological innovation with sustainability goals. However, coordinated regulatory frameworks and cross-sector collaboration are essential to maximize its long-term impact and scalability.

Abstract

The rapid digitalization of financial and organizational processes has intensified concerns regarding audit transparency, data integrity, and fraud risk within conventional auditing systems. Traditional audit mechanisms often rely on ex post verification, fragmented records, and centralized control structures, which can limit real-time assurance and increase vulnerability to manipulation. This study aims to examine the role of blockchain technology in transforming auditing practices by enhancing transparency and reducing fraud risks. The research adopts a qualitative analytical approach based on an extensive review of peer-reviewed journal articles, professional auditing standards, and institutional reports published between 2016 and 2024. The findings indicate that blockchain-enabled auditing introduces immutable, time-stamped, and decentralized records that significantly improve audit trail reliability and real-time verification capabilities. Smart contracts and distributed ledgers reduce information asymmetry, limit opportunities for earnings manipulation, and strengthen internal control systems. Evidence also suggests that blockchain adoption reshapes the role of auditors from transaction verification toward continuous assurance and system oversight. The study concludes that blockchain technology has strong potential to enhance audit quality, transparency, and trust while mitigating fraud risks, although challenges related to scalability, regulatory alignment, data privacy, and auditor competency remain.

Abstract

The governance of waqf institutions in Malaysia has faced persistent challenges related to transparency, accountability, and public trust. Traditional waqf management practices often lack systematic reporting, real-time monitoring, and effective stakeholder engagement, leading to inefficiencies and potential misuse of assets. In response to these issues, this study explores the implementation of blockchain technology as an innovative and Sharia-compliant solution to enhance waqf governance. The aim of this research is to examine the potential of blockchain-based systems to provide transparent, immutable, and decentralized management mechanisms for waqf assets within the Malaysian context. Employing a qualitative methodology, data were gathered through interviews with Islamic finance experts, waqf practitioners, and blockchain developers, complemented by document analysis of regulatory frameworks and case studies. The findings indicate that blockchain technology can significantly improve waqf transparency, traceability of donations, and real-time auditability, while ensuring compliance with Islamic legal principles. However, successful adoption requires legal reform, stakeholder digital literacy, and standardized technical frameworks. This research contributes to the evolving discourse on Islamic financial innovation, highlighting the transformative potential of blockchain for ethical and transparent asset management in Muslim societies.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics has transformed the landscape of medical technology, offering unprecedented precision, efficiency, and personalization in patient care. The integration of AI-driven diagnostics and robotic-assisted surgery has improved clinical decision-making, minimized human errors, and enhanced surgical outcomes. This study aims to explore recent innovations in AI and robotics in the medical field, assess their effectiveness in improving treatment precision, and identify challenges in their widespread adoption. A systematic review methodology was employed, analyzing recent peer-reviewed articles, case studies, and reports from medical institutions and technology developers. The findings indicate that AI-powered diagnostic tools significantly enhance early disease detection, while robotic surgery enables minimally invasive procedures with improved accuracy and reduced recovery times. However, challenges such as ethical concerns, high implementation costs, and regulatory hurdles remain key barriers to full-scale adoption. This study concludes that AI and robotics will play an increasingly vital role in modern medicine, revolutionizing healthcare delivery. Further research should focus on optimizing AI algorithms, addressing ethical considerations, and developing cost-effective solutions to ensure broader accessibility and acceptance in medical practice.

Abstract

Coverage in developing countries, where persistent inequalities, financial constraints, and institutional fragmentation continue to limit access to essential health services. This study aims to examine how sustainable healthcare models contribute to bridging gaps in Universal Health Coverage by analyzing the interaction between financing mechanisms, governance structures, and service delivery systems. A qualitative comparative research design was employed, integrating secondary statistical data analysis, policy document review, and a case study approach to explore healthcare sustainability across selected developing countries. The findings reveal that healthcare systems characterized by stable public financing, reduced reliance on out-of-pocket payments, strong governance coordination, and a primary healthcare orientation demonstrate higher resilience and more equitable coverage outcomes. The results also indicate that fragmented policies, weak institutional capacity, and curative-centered investment patterns undermine long-term Universal Health Coverage efforts. The study concludes that embedding sustainability principles into healthcare models is critical for ensuring that coverage expansion is both inclusive and enduring. The novelty of this research lies in its integrative framework that conceptualizes sustainability as a systemic and relational process rather than a standalone policy objective, offering strategic insights for policymakers seeking to advance resilient and equitable Universal Health Coverage in developing countries.

Abstract

Indigenous knowledge systems represent vital cultural resources that sustain community identity, social cohesion, and adaptive capacity, yet they face increasing erosion under the pressures of modernization and standardized development practices. Community service programs have been widely implemented as instruments of social engagement, although their role in strengthening cultural resilience and revitalizing indigenous knowledge remains insufficiently examined. This study aims to analyze how community service programs contribute to cultural resilience through the revitalization of indigenous knowledge systems within local communities. The research employs a qualitative approach grounded in participatory and interpretive frameworks, combining in-depth interviews, participant observation, and analysis of community service program documents. The findings reveal that community service programs foster cultural resilience when they are designed as participatory processes that recognize indigenous knowledge holders as central actors. Such programs facilitate intergenerational knowledge transmission, strengthen cultural pride, and support the adaptation of traditional practices to contemporary contexts. The results also indicate that cultural revitalization extends beyond preservation, functioning as an active process embedded in everyday social life. The study concludes that community service programs can serve as effective platforms for sustaining indigenous knowledge systems when they emphasize reciprocity, local agency, and cultural authority. These findings underscore the importance of culturally responsive community engagement in promoting sustainable and resilient development.

Abstract

Background: In recent years, the need for 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity has become increasingly significant. Traditional education models often fall short in developing these competencies, making innovative teaching methods like Project-Based Learning (PBL) an important focus in modern educational research. PBL, with its emphasis on real-world problems and student-centered learning, has been seen as a promising approach to cultivate these essential skills. Objectives: This study aims to investigate the role of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in fostering the development of 21st-century skills among students. Method: A mixed-method approach was employed, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data. Surveys and interviews were conducted with students and educators from various educational institutions that implemented PBL strategies in their curricula. The collected data were analyzed to identify the impacts of PBL on students’ skill development. Results: The findings revealed that PBL significantly contributes to the enhancement of key 21st-century skills. Students demonstrated improved problem-solving abilities, teamwork, communication, and creativity. Moreover, educators observed an increase in student engagement and motivation. Conclusion: Project-Based Learning is an effective pedagogical approach in fostering 21st-century skills. Its emphasis on real-world problem solving and collaborative work provides students with the necessary tools to thrive in an increasingly complex and dynamic world.
