Abstract

Miana plant (Coleus) is a plant with compound flowers. Miana leaves have various bioactive compounds widely used to treat diseases such as fever, cold, cough, headaches, asthma, constipation, and skin diseases. Based on phytochemical screening of Coleus atropurpureus Benth. Several bioactive compounds are produced, such as sterols, terpenoids, alkaloids, phenols, flavonoids, glycosides, lactones, catechols, and tannins. Miana leaf extract has been tested for antioxidants using the DPPH method, and the IC50 value obtained from the antioxidant test results is 3.80 ppm and is categorized as a powerful antioxidant. There were four formulations of miana leaf extract nanoemulsion. Based on the characterization on the Miana leaf extract nanoemulsion preparation, formulations with good results were obtained in F1 and F3 with precise results and high transmittance values. In testing the miana leaf extract nanoemulsion, an organoleptic test was carried out on each formulation. It was found that all formulations had a distinctive smell of miana leaves, and no phase separation occurred, with the clarity of F1 and F3 classified as straightforward but F2 and F4 not clear, and the resulting color increased from F1 -F4. Meanwhile, for the physicochemical test, an O/W type nanoemulsion was produced, physically stable, with a particle size of F1 153.9 nm and F3 795.6 nm, with a zeta potential of F1 of 16.4 and F3 of -28.266.

Abstract

The learning phenomenon in the era of the industrial revolution 5.0 based on mobile digital is being loved and is in great demand by the current generation of digital natives, namely incorporating mobile cycle game elements on smartphone devices, this mode is called the Mobile Gamification Learning System, considering that the current generation of students have learning styles that tend to be active visually, kinesthetic, sequential and sensing. However, the term gamification itself still sounds foreign to some teachers at SMA Negeri 6 Kerinci and has never applied it in class, considering the limited knowledge of teachers in using ICT. Seeing these conditions and situations, it is necessary to carry out dissemination activities on the use of gamification application tools in order to advance the quality of education through developing teacher competence in applying technology-based science. The results of this dissemination activity have had a very good effect on teachers' basic knowledge and skills in utilizing gamification media and creating an active, creative, fun and motivating classroom atmosphere for student learning.

Abstract

Physical Chemistry II course in the Chemistry Education Study Program is one of the subjects with an abstract nature, such as Electrochemistry materials. The abstract nature of Electrochemistry makes it difficult for students to observe the processes occurring in Electrochemical systems directly. When explained theoretically, these concepts are often challenging for students to understand. Therefore, teaching Electrochemistry requires an e-book that incorporates chemical representations, particularly multiple representations. To address this, it is deemed necessary to develop an Electrochemistry e-book based on multiple representations using 3D PageFlip. This e-book integrates multiple representations, enabling students to independently study and comprehend Electrochemistry materials while providing flexibility and convenience. An Electrochemistry e-book with multiple representations, particularly in a computer-assisted learning format, is a viable alternative to support student learning. This study aims to develop an Electrochemistry e-book using 3D PageFlip based on multiple representations. This software allows the creation of interactive and engaging educational resources. The resulting e-book aims to enhance students' individual abilities and increase their interest and motivation, which in turn is expected to improve their academic performance and learning outcomes. Moreover, this multimedia learning tool is intended to address challenges related to students' limited comprehension during classroom learning processes, accommodate individual characteristics, and offer alternative solutions to the low self-actualization of students. Through this e-book, students can revisit and explore difficult concepts, facilitating deeper understanding. The ultimate goal of this research is to produce an Electrochemistry e-book based on multiple representations across macroscopic, microscopic, and symbolic levels using 3D PageFlip. This e-book will align with the applicable curriculum and adhere to educational principles while incorporating essential educational elements. By improving concept mastery in Electrochemistry, this resource is expected to enhance students' cognitive abilities and overall learning outcomes

Abstract

Cancer is the process of forming new tissue that is abnormal and malignant. Efforts to discover anti-cancer drug compounds continue to be made to minimize the toxic effects of chemotherapy, so it is necessary to look for other alternatives to treat cancer. This research aims to determine the anti-cancer activity of putat plant bioactive compounds through identification of receptor targets and interaction studies using the molecular docking method against the VEGFR2 (Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2) receptor. The results showed that in the test of eight putat plant bioactive compounds the best results were obtained for the compound 3-oxo-N-(1,3-thiazol-2-yl) butanamide with a binding free energy value of -9.86 kcal-mol-1 with an inhibition constant value of 1.47 Micromolar. The best docking result has an inhibition constant value that is higher than the native ligand and has a binding free energy that is almost close to the binding free energy of the native ligand with an inhibition constant value of 42.38 Micromolar and a binding free energy value of 10.06 kcal-mol-1. Therefore, the results of the docking of the bioactive compound 3-oxo-N-(1,3-thiazol-2-yl) butanamide with the VEGFR-2 receptor are considered capable of being an alternative as a candidate for anti-cancer drugs.

Abstract

Cancer is a disorder resulting from genetic changes, abnormal growth, and spread to other parts of the body. Cancer treatment is commonly administered through chemotherapy, which often results in adverse side effects. Therefore, research is essential to identify safer alternative cancer therapies. This study aims to identify potential bioactive compound ligand receptor targets from Sonneratia alba as anticancer candidates in silico by identifying VEGFR target proteins based on their pharmacophores and studying their interactions through the reverse docking method. Docking simulations between the native ligand (Tivozanib) and the receptor yielded promising results, with a free energy value of -12.76 kcal/mol and an inhibition constant of 440.70 μM. Among the seven bioactive compounds, Meperidine (C15H21NO2) exhibited favorable outcomes, showing a free energy value of -7.39 kcal/mol and an inhibition constant of 3.83 μM. Additionally, the meperidine and gibberellin A7 compounds formed three and four hydrogen bonds, respectively, including one with Ala866, and interacted with 15 and 18 amino acid residues, such as Glu917, Cys919, Glu885, and Asp1046. The presence of active sites on the ligand or test compounds that bind to the target receptor indicates a potential for comparable affinity in inhibiting VEGFR-2 receptor activity.
