Abstract

In the era of globalization and technological advancements, shipping agencies play a central role in connecting regions, facilitating trade, and promoting the growth of the tourism industry. Ship ticket sales and travel scheduling are pivotal elements in the operations of a shipping agency. However, the challenges posed by operational complexity and intense competition necessitate innovative approaches to enhance efficiency and service quality. This research aims to design an integrated system that manages the processes of ship ticket sales and travel scheduling in XYZ Shipping Agency. In this approach, we identify key requirements through a preliminary study, design an effective system concept, and test the resulting model through simulations. The results of the research reveal that the integrated system holds the potential to enhance operational efficiency of the shipping agency, reduce potential errors, and provide superior services to customers. While real-world implementation challenges remain, the evaluation results provide a positive outlook on the potential of the integrated system in improving the agency's performance. This study contributes to the development of the integrated system concept for ship ticket sales and travel scheduling management in the shipping industry. However, further steps are required to test and implement this model in day-to-day operational settings, while adapting it to evolving technological advancements and shifting market demands.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has placed greater emphasis on a company's online presence, particularly through a company profile website. This research aims to design a mockup for PT XYZ's company profile website by utilizing a combined approach of primary and secondary data. Primary data will be obtained through interviews with the company management to understand the company's values, communication objectives, and desired design preferences. Meanwhile, secondary data will be used to gain insights into current design trends and best practices in website design. This research method combines qualitative and descriptive approaches, with initial steps focusing on identifying PT XYZ's needs and communication objectives.Based on the interview results, initial design concepts will be developed that reflect the company's identity and consider user needs. By integrating primary and secondary data, this research is expected to produce a mockup design for the company profile website that meets PT XYZ's communication and representation needs, while aligning with current web design standards. The findings of this research are expected to provide practical guidance for PT XYZ in enhancing the company's image through effective and engaging digital media.

Abstract

Teacher attendance is a crucial aspect in maintaining the quality of education in schools. SMK Ibnu Sina Batam currently employs a manual method for recording teacher attendance, which is prone to errors, delays in data compilation, and a lack of transparency in reporting. This study aims to develop a web-based information system mock-up to monitor teacher attendance more efficiently, accurately, and transparently. The research adopts the prototype model, which allows system development by involving users in each stage. The designed mock-up includes key features such as user login, attendance recording, teacher data management, and attendance report generation. The analysis results indicate that a web-based system offers advantages over the manual method in terms of recording speed, data security, and information accessibility. The findings suggest that a web-based teacher attendance monitoring system can serve as an effective solution to enhance school administration efficiency. Further implementation is recommended by incorporating biometric features and a mobile version to improve system functionality.

Abstract

In the digital era, the utilization of information technology has become essential for various business sectors, including the laundry service industry. However, many laundry businesses still rely on manual record-keeping for managing transactions and finances, which can lead to recording errors, data loss, and difficulties in generating systematic financial reports. This study aims to design and develop a web-based accounting information system to help laundry businesses manage transactions and financial reports more effectively and efficiently. The development method used is the waterfall model, which includes the stages of requirements analysis, system design, program implementation, testing, and maintenance. The results indicate that the developed system enables administrators to manage transaction data, services, and financial reports more systematically, while employees can record transactions and print receipts automatically. System testing using the black-box method shows that all key features function as expected. With this information system, laundry businesses can improve operational efficiency, minimize recording errors, and enhance transparency in financial management. It is expected that this system can serve as a solution for small and medium enterprises to adopt information technology and increase their competitiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technologies has significantly transformed the tourism sector, particularly in urban destinations characterized by complex ecosystems and diverse stakeholders. Smart tourism systems have emerged as a key approach to enhancing service efficiency, improving tourist experiences, and enabling data-driven decision-making. However, existing studies are still fragmented and largely focus on partial implementations, lacking comprehensive end-to-end integration. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review on smart tourism systems in urban destinations, with a focus on system integration, end-to-end tourist journey, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) digital integration. The review was conducted using selected articles from reputable international journals published between 2023 and 2025. The analysis categorizes the studies into three groups: same system and same scope, same system and similar scope, and same system and different scope. The results indicate that only a limited number of studies have developed fully integrated smart tourism systems, while most studies focus on specific components or are applied in different domains. In addition, stakeholder integration and SME digital inclusion remain key challenges in developing comprehensive smart tourism ecosystems. This study contributes by identifying research gaps and proposing future research directions focused on developing integrated, scalable, and inclusive smart tourism systems. The findings are expected to support the advancement of smart tourism system design in urban destinations.

Abstract

The rapid development of smart city initiatives has significantly transformed the tourism sector through the adoption of digital technologies and data-driven systems. This study aims to analyze the development of data-driven smart tourism management by focusing on system integration, digital tourist journey, and UMKM connectivity within smart city environments. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method was employed to examine 30 relevant articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings indicate that most studies utilize similar methodological approaches but are applied to different research objects, resulting in fragmented research outcomes. Furthermore, the lack of integration among systems and limited involvement of UMKM in digital platforms remain major challenges in developing effective smart tourism ecosystems. This study highlights the need for integrated, interoperable, and scalable smart tourism systems supported by advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and Internet of Things (IoT). The results of this study provide a conceptual foundation and research directions for developing more comprehensive and sustainable smart tourism systems in smart city contexts.
