Abstract

Increasing national sporting achievements will run well if it starts from the lower levels, namely districts and cities. From Kota Pariaman's participation in Porprov, Kota Pariaman has never once reached the best position (rank 1) in terms of medals, and has never even entered the top 10. Based on the results of interviews and observations in the field, there were findings that coaches' understanding of athlete coaching patterns was still low, especially in long-term coaching. The coach's lack of knowledge about athlete development can ultimately lead to the coach's inability to create training programs for long-term coaching. The approach method used in solving partner problems is 1) Workshop in order to increase the knowledge and understanding of trainers in long-term coaching patterns by providing material on Long Term Athlete Development and 2) Follow-up discussions in the context of monitoring and evaluation. The result of this activity is an increase in trainers' knowledge and understanding in creating long-term coaching programs.

Abstract

Dribbling ability is one of the main skills that every futsal player must have to support performance on the field. This study was conducted to understand how speed, flexibility, and agility affect the dribbling ability of futsal players at Vamos Academy Padang. This study uses the path analysis method with purposive sampling technique. The instruments used include a 20 meter sprint speed test, agility test with zig-zag run test, flexibility test using sit and reach, and dribbling ability test through slalom dribbling test. The results showed that: (1) speed has a significant direct effect on dribbling ability with a significant value of 0.321; (2) flexibility also has a significant effect on dribbling ability with a significant value of 0.470; (3) agility significantly affects dribbling ability with a significant value of 0.240; (4) no significant effect of speed on dribbling ability through agility (0.164); (5) no significant effect of flexibility on dribbling ability through agility (0.077); and (6) speed, flexibility, and agility simultaneously have a significant effect on dribbling ability. In conclusion, speed, flexibility, and agility are important factors that directly affect the dribbling ability of futsal players.

Abstract

Dribbling ability is one of the techniques that futsal players must have. The small field area requires players to have good dribbling skills in attacking, both when passing opponents and accelerating into the opponent's defense area. This study was conducted to determine the effect of speed, flexibility, and agility on dribbling ability. This type of research is quantitative research using the path analysis method. The population in this study was 25 Vamos Futsal Academy players. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique, resulting in a sample of 16 people. The instruments used in this study were 1) a 20-meter speed test, to measure speed, 2) a Sit and Reach Test, to measure flexibility, 3) a Zig-zag Run Test, to measure agility, and 4) a Slalom Dribbling Test, to measure a player's dribbling ability. The test results were analyzed using path analysis techniques to determine the pattern of relationships between variables. Data analysis includes several stages, namely: Data description, Normality test, and Linearity test. Path analysis was conducted to identify the extent of influence of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The results showed that speed, flexibility, and agility contributed 95.3% to dribbling ability. Meanwhile, 4.7% was influenced by other variables not included in this study. Therefore, it can be concluded that speed, flexibility, and agility are important factors that directly influence the dribbling ability of futsal players.

Abstract

Pencak silat is a martial art that demands a combination of physical ability, technique, and strategy. The intermittent, high-intensity nature of the competition means that athletes' energy needs are simultaneously dominated by the anaerobic and aerobic systems. Therefore, a training model capable of accommodating these physiological demands is needed, one of which is High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). This article aims to analyze the physical and energy needs of pencak silat athletes as a basis for developing an effective HIIT training model. The method used is a literature review of various studies related to sports physiology and martial arts athlete performance. The analysis results indicate that pencak silat athletes require anaerobic endurance, muscle strength, speed, agility, and good aerobic capacity. The HIIT model is considered relevant because it can increase VO₂max capacity, lactate tolerance, and energy efficiency. Thus, developing a HIIT program based on the specific needs of pencak silat can optimally improve athlete performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effects of arm muscle strength, eye-hand coordination, and learning motivation on forehand service accuracy in badminton among junior high school students. A quantitative approach with path analysis was used. The sample consisted of 49 male students selected through random sampling. Data were collected using a push-up test for arm muscle strength, a tennis ball throw-and-catch test for eye-hand coordination, a 50-item Likert-scale questionnaire for learning motivation, and a modified forehand service accuracy test. The findings revealed that arm muscle strength (0.393), eye-hand coordination (0.337), and learning motivation (0.278) had significant direct effects on forehand service accuracy. Additionally, arm muscle strength and eye-hand coordination showed indirect effects through learning motivation, contributing 5.2% and 3.7%, respectively. Both physical and psychological factors significantly influence forehand service accuracy. Integrating physical training and motivational strategies is essential to enhance badminton performance.

Abstract

Shooting accuracy represents a fundamental determinant of success in competitive football, relying heavily on a complex interaction between physiological capabilities and psychological readiness. Despite its importance, many training programs overlook the specific contribution of core stability and mental state. Consequently, this study aims to comprehensively analyze the influence of leg explosive power, stomach muscle strength, and self-confidence on the shooting ability of students at SSB Tuna Agung Salido. Understanding these relationships is crucial for developing targeted training protocols that maximize performance outcomes among young athletes. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational associative causal design, carried out in February 2026. The sample consisted of 28 students determined through a total sampling technique, ensuring all active members were included to represent the population accurately. Data collection instruments included the Standing Broad Jump test to measure leg explosive power, the sit-up test for stomach muscle strength, a standardized questionnaire for self-confidence, and a practical kick-to-target test for shooting ability. Data analysis was conducted using Path Analysis to determine direct and indirect effects between variables. Research results indicate that shooting ability is significantly influenced by both physical and psychological factors. Leg explosive power contributes 33.3% to shooting performance, while stomach muscle strength demonstrates a larger influence at 37.3%, highlighting the critical role of core stability in generating and transferring power during kicks. Self-confidence contributes 19.8%, underscoring the vital mental component of skill execution under pressure. No direct connection was found between leg explosive power and stomach muscle strength; however, both exert an indirect influence through self-confidence by 2% and 3% respectively. These findings confirm that an effective training program must simultaneously address physical strength and psychological factors to optimize students' shooting abilities. Coaches are advised to integrate core conditioning and mental resilience training alongside technical drills to ensure holistic development. Future research should explore additional psychological variables such as anxiety control to further refine training methodologies for youth football development.
