Abstract

This research has the purpose to determine the influence of knowledge, supervision, facility availability, and management commitment as moderators on unsafe behavior among workers in the Construction Project of UPT Vertical Hospital Surabaya. The research used a Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach with the measurement model using the SmartPLS version 3.2.9 program. The research results indicate that knowledge, supervision, and facilities can influence the unsafe behavior of workers, and management commitment cannot influence knowledge, supervision, and facilities on the unsafe behavior of workers in the construction of the UPT Vertical Surabaya Hospital.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the extent to which work posture, workload intensity, and psychosocial aspects affect fatigue levels in forklift operators at PT Y's warehouse. The background of this study is the high incidence of property damage involving forklifts and changes in storage systems that increase operator workload. This study uses a quantitative approach with PLS-SEM-based regression analysis. The results of the analysis show that all three factors—work posture, workload, and psychosocial conditions—have a significant and positive effect on work fatigue, with regression coefficients of 0.358; 0.367; and 0.333, respectively. The T-statistic value of all three exceeds 1.96 and the P-value <0.05, indicating that all three are statistically significant. These findings indicate that non-ergonomic work positions, heavy workloads, and unfavorable psychosocial conditions can increase the risk of work fatigue. This study recommends the need for in-depth ergonomic evaluations, reorganization of operational rhythms, and strengthening social interactions in the workplace to reduce fatigue levels and prevent potential work accidents.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) remains a critical concern in the oil and gas industry. The International Labour Organization (ILO) recorded nearly three million work-related deaths globally in 2023, while Indonesia reported 370,747 occupational accident cases in the same year. Drilling and well intervention operations at PT XYZ present particularly high-risk environments demanding strict OHS compliance. Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of work environment, training, and supervision on OHS implementation among contractor workers in drilling and well intervention operations at PT XYZ. Method: A quantitative approach with a correlative analytical design and cross-sectional method was employed. The population consisted of 100 contractor workers at Zona Rokan North DSF, with 80 respondents selected for the main study using total sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. Results: Work environment significantly influenced OHS implementation (B=0.435, p=0.003). Training demonstrated the strongest effect (B=0.560, p=0.0001), while supervision showed no significant partial influence (B=-0.034, p=0.755). Simultaneously, all three variables significantly influenced OHS implementation (F=14.736, p=0.0001). Conclusion: Training is the most dominant factor in improving OHS compliance, followed by work environment. Although supervision did not show a significant partial effect, its combination with other factors remains essential. Companies must adopt a comprehensive and integrated approach optimizing work conditions, strengthening competency-based training, and reinforcing safety culture to achieve optimal OHS compliance in high-risk oil and gas operations.
