Abstract

Lomba cerdas cermat di UPTD SMP Negeri 10 Barru bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, percaya diri, literasi, numerasi, dan kerjasama pada siswa. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu babak penyisihan, semifinal, dan final yang melibatkan peserta dari berbagai kelas di sekolah tersebut. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada peserta dari segi pengetahuan, kemampuan berpikir kritis, percaya diri, dan kerjasama dibandingkan dengan peserta yang tidak mengikuti lomba. Meskipun kegiatan ini memiliki manfaat yang besar, namun beberapa tantangan seperti tekanan mental pada peserta dan kesenjangan akses terhadap sumber belajar masih perlu diatasi. Secara keseluruhan, lomba ini merupakan metode pembelajaran inovatif yang efektif dalam membangun generasi muda yang cerdas dan berkarakter.

Abstract

This study aims to explain information about the patterns of family decision making for parents who have children with special needs in the city of Makassar. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study show that parents are key figures who play a very important role in providing role models, guidance, and affection in the process of child development. The role of parents in the acceptance of children with special needs is very important. Parents are the best guides and helpers for the independence of children with special needs. The mother as one of the parents of children with special needs has an important role in understanding the needs and development of their children. This is related to the mother's acceptance of children with disabilities, which is shown in the attitude to face children. If parents lack understanding of children with special needs, it can result in a lack of attention and consider the child to be unlucky in the family. Parents are the determinants of a child's life before and after birth. Therefore, it is the responsibility of parents to fully accept the existence of their children and treat them equally in all aspects of life with children in general without any discriminatory attitude and to provide the widest possible opportunity for education.

Abstract

At present the number of detection and treatment of PLWHA in the province of South Sulawesi ranks 7th nationally. become a phenomenon that must immediately get attention, including what happened to residents of Ujung Tanah sub-district in Makassar City, in this case we carried out a qualitative method with descriptive research. Abstract

Bullying is not a new phenomenon, yet its prevention and management must be pursued in a continuous, collaborative, and systematic manner, particularly through character education, active teacher involvement, and support from families and communities. This study aims to explore the forms of bullying behavior and their implications for character development among students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Sangir, Makassar. Using a qualitative descriptive approach in the form of a case study, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving 12 informants, including students, teachers, and parents. The results show that bullying occurs in almost all grade levels, predominantly in the forms of verbal and physical abuse. The impacts of bullying are highly significant on student character, affecting victims—who tend to become passive, anxious, and lack self-confidence—as well as perpetrators—who display aggressive behavior and a lack of empathy. The development of positive character traits such as empathy, responsibility, and respect are hindered by an unsupportive environment. This study highlights the crucial role of teachers, parents, and the school environment in preventive, curative, preservative, and referral (reveral) efforts to address bullying. Systematic and continuous character education is key to creating a safe learning climate that supports students’ holistic personality development.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of gender discrimination on female dropout rates and their access to employment opportunities in Makassar City, Indonesia. This study used a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with 30 women aged 15 to 30 who dropped out of school or had difficulty accessing employment. The results showed that female dropout rates ranged from 15-20%, which was caused by social norms that prioritize women's traditional roles, lack of family support, and economic constraints. Only 25% of women from low-income families continued their education to college. Gender discrimination also hinders women from accessing formal employment, with the majority trapped in the informal sector with low incomes. This study highlights the need for effective policy interventions to improve education and employment opportunities for women. These findings provide insights for policy makers to create an environment that supports gender equality in education and employment, while changing public perceptions about women's roles. This study is expected to be a reference for efforts to improve women's welfare in Makassar.

Abstract

Education plays a strategic role in revitalizing national values to ensure their relevance for the younger generation. This study aims to analyze the efforts made to revitalize national values in the learning process at Sekolah Kebangsaan Dato' Wan Ahmad Rasid, Malaysia. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with the validity ensured through triangulation of sources and methods. The findings reveal that national values are revitalized through curriculum integration, experiential learning methods, and the use of digital technology. Extracurricular programs and community engagement significantly reinforce students' national identity. The study identifies several challenges, including the effects of globalization, changing mindsets among the younger generation, and the limited use of innovative teaching methods. The study proposes strengthening value-based education, integrating technology in pedagogy, and enhancing parental and community involvement to address these challenges. This study contributes to developing an adaptive and contextual model for national value education and serves as a valuable reference for educational institutions in designing more effective strategies to instill national values in the modern era.

Abstract

Kualitas pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) pada lembaga pendidikan formal berdampak pada kualitas belajar siswa hal ini dapat diketahui melalui tahapan evlauasi metode, materi dan pengajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kualitas pembelajaran IPS yang efektif di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama dengan meninjau berbagai Metode, Materi dan Pengajaran. Dalam menganalisis kualitas pendidikan IPS, menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Penelitian ini juga mengkaji tantangan yang dihadapi guru dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran IPS tersebut, seperti kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang diajarkan, kurangnya pelatihan profesional, dan resistensi terhadap perubahan kurikulum. Melalui analisis observasi dengan pendekatan studi kasus, Dapat dilihat hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa guru berhasil menerapkan model Problem Based Learning dengan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan pembelajaran. Dengan menggunakan media yang ada disekitarnya, siswa memahami apa yang disampaikan guru. Penggunaan strategi membaca dan menulis antara lain pemberian penghargaan (pujian, nilai, bintang, hadiah kepada siswa), pemberian bahan referensi untuk mencari jawaban dan solusi pemecahan masalah, serta belajar kelompok dan diskusi siswa.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan limbah kardus sebagai media pembelajaran realistik di sekolah. Hal tersebut akan tercapai dengan baik apabila guru kreatif dalam mengolah kardus, hal ini akan memudahkan guru dalam mengajar peserta didik di sekolah. Seperti diketahui, anak-anak belajar matematika di sekolah hanya empat sampai enam jam per minggu. Hal ini membatasi pemahaman anak terhadap matematika dan mata pelajaran lainnya. Dengan adanya kreativitas guru dalam membantu mengajar peserta didik dengan membuat media yang terbuat dari limbah kardus. Pemanfaatan media dalam proses pembelajaran dapat membangkitkan keinginan dan minat yang baru, menciptakan motivasi dan merangsang kegiatan belajar, bahkan dapat memberikan efek psikologis bagi peserta didik. Metode pelaksanaan pendampingan yaitu dengan melakukan praktik langsung kemudian memperagakannya di depan peserta didik. Hasil peragaan, guru mendapatkan referensi baru untuk membuat media pembelajaran yang dapat bernilai ekonomis dan terbuat dari bahan baku yang mudah diperoleh. Peserta didik juga mendapatkan media pembelajaran yang dapat memudahkan mereka dalam memahami cara berhitung.
