Quran teachers play a role in producing a generation of Muslims who are able to read, understand, and memorize the Quran. However, reality shows that there are still many problems faced by Quran teachers in Indonesia. This article aims to identify and analyze the problems faced by Quran teachers in Indonesia. This article uses the Systematic Literature Review method with the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) approach. A search was conducted on 25 relevant articles from the Scopus and Google Scholar databases published between 2019 and 2024. These articles were analyzed to identify the main issues and solutions that can be applied to improve the quality of Quran teachers. The analysis results indicate that Quran teachers face various challenges, including i) lack of competence in tajweed, ii) low capacity in tahfidz, iii) monotonous teaching methods, iv) absence of standardized guidelines or learning modules, v) lack of formal training, and vi) insufficient training. All these analysis results highlight the need for interventions in the form of developing comprehensive training modules for Quran teachers, as well as recommendations for regular training programs and competency certification for Quran teachers that can be implemented by the government to promote the improvement of national Quran education quality. This analysis is expected to serve as a strategic guide for the government and educational institutions. Abstract

Multiple intelligences are the basic potential granted by Allah SWT to all humans. For children, this intelligence needs to be nurtured, trained, and developed from an early age in a sustainable manner. In the context of Islamic education, there are many ways parents can cultivate a child’s multiple intelligences, for example by reading historical accounts and stories contained in books related to multiple intelligence education. The Kitab Ta’lim Fadhilah Amal is the main reading for the Jama’ah Tabligh da’wah movement group in educating each family member, including their children. In general, this book contains history and messages of life, worship, and spirituality from the Prophet Muhammad SAW, his companions, and previous scholars, presented in the form of stories. This study specifically aims to analyze the effect of story-based education from the Kitab Ta’lim Fadhilah Amal, as practiced by parents, on the development of children’s multiple intelligences in Jama’ah Tabligh families. This research employs a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. Data were collected through interviews with forty informants selected using a purposive sampling technique. The informants consisted of parents, children, and leaders of Jama’ah Tabligh groups in three different countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. To strengthen the interview data, the author also conducted four years of observation by directly participating in the family activities of the Jama’ah Tabligh group, such as Ijtima’, Bayan Markas, Ta’lim Halaqah, Khuruj, and Jaulah, and even visiting the homes of all informants. All interview and observation data were thematically analyzed using NVivo 12 software. The research findings identified four aspects of intelligence that emerged from story-based education in the Kitab Ta’lim Fadhilah Amal that influenced children’s multiple intelligences. These include: (i) verbal-linguistic intelligence, (ii) intrapersonal intelligence, (iii) interpersonal intelligence, and (iv) spiritual intelligence. The findings of this study can serve as a guide for parents to nurture and develop children’s multiple intelligences from an early age in Muslim families.

Abstract

Arabic is a subject that must be studied in Islamic High Schools in Indonesia. However, in reality there are still students who have not mastered the rules of learning Arabic, because there are several problems. This research aims to find out what problems students actually experience in learning Arabic. This research uses qualitative methods with a case study approach (case study design). Data sources were taken from twenty informants consisting of school principals, teachers and students through individual and group interviews. To strengthen the interview data, the author also made direct observations of teachers and students. All interview and observation data were analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model Analysis Interactive. Research findings found that there were five problems in learning to learn Arabic in high school. The five problems are: i) students' previous educational background, ii) inadequate facilities and infrastructure, iii) there is still a culture of teasing, iv) students are lazy about learning and v) the way teachers teach does not attract students' attention. The results of this research can be used as initial data for future researchers to study this problem in different contexts and problems.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning model oriented toward strengthening anti-corruption values at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. The model is implemented through an integrative approach that systematically embeds the values of honesty, integrity, transparency, accountability, and justice into the curriculum and all stages of the learning process. This research employs a qualitative descriptive design, utilizing in-depth interviews with lecturers and students, classroom observations, and analysis of academic documentation. The findings indicate that students internalize anti-corruption values through observable ethical behaviors, including refusing to engage in academic dishonesty such as cheating, proxy attendance, plagiarism (copy-paste practices), and data falsification, including in applications for the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) scholarship. Classroom observations further reveal a 98% attendance rate accompanied by active student participation in discussions and reflective learning activities. Overall, this learning model effectively contributes to the development of graduates with strong moral character, academic integrity, and ethical commitment, positioning them as agents of social change. The study underscores that integrating anti-corruption values into IRE not only reinforces individual character formation but also plays a strategic role in fostering a clean, transparent, and just culture within both academic institutions and society at large.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the application of the Challenge Based Learning (CBL) model in improving students' critical thinking skills in Fiqh learning. The CBL model utilizes environmental challenges as a learning resource. This quantitative study employed tests, observation, and documentation to collect data. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and the "t" test. The results showed that the CBL model can be effectively applied in Fiqh learning, particularly in zakat material. Students' critical thinking skills improved significantly, with an average score increase from 63.42 to 75.56. Statistical testing revealed that 65.0% of students' thinking abilities were influenced by the CBL model. Additionally, students were more active in participating in learning through the CBL model. The study suggests that the CBL model can be a valuable approach to enhancing critical thinking skills in Fiqh learning. The findings of this study can be used as a reference for educators and researchers to develop effective learning strategies that promote critical thinking skills in students. Furthermore, the study recommends that educators consider incorporating the CBL model into their teaching practices to improve student learning outcomes.
