Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven innovations in the fashion industry, including the integration of Quick Response (QR) codes into clothing products as an interactive information medium. This study aims to determine the feasibility of the design and products of the “Scanara" Ready-to-Wear Fashion, as well as the feasibility of QR Code media with embroidery techniques applied as a means of delivering digital information. The research method employs a descriptive percentage approach, utilizing an assessment instrument compiled based on theoretical studies related to fashion design, construction, aesthetics, comfort, and interactive media. The assessment was conducted by six experts, comprising three fashion experts and three media experts. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques by calculating the feasibility percentage based on the obtained score and the maximum score. The results showed that the “Scanara” ready-to-wear fashion obtained a feasibility percentage of 82.5% and was categorized as "Very Feasible". Meanwhile, the QR Code media achieved a feasibility score of 96.25% with the category of "Very Feasible". These Findings indicate that the integration of QR Code technology with embroidery techniques not only improves the informative and aesthetic functions of fashion but also supports the development of modern, interactive, and adaptive fashion products. Thus, the developed fashion and digital media are declared very feasible for use, production, and further development.

Abstract

Kudus Kretek Dance, as part of intangible cultural heritage, struggles to stay preserved because foreign culture dominates social media. Bringing local cultural heritage into modern fashion is a key way to revive culture, but past studies have used weaving techniques only as decorations, not as core construction. This research examines whether "Hayuma" ready-to-wear fashion can be inspired by Kudus Kretek Dance and incorporate weaving as a central element of its structure. A descriptive quantitative approach is used, backed by three fashion experts. The research tool is a validation sheet assessing six areas, including design, looks, size, sewing, garment performance, and product uniqueness, with a Guttman scale. Data were analyzed using a descriptive percentage method and understood using feasibility categories. "Hayuma" fashion scored 93.8% feasibility, placing it in the "Highly Feasible" category. The product blended elements of Kudus Kretek Dance with Kudus batik and tobacco-flower designs, and toh watu shawl and weaving on the sleeves, in a stylish, dramatic way for people aged 18-30. Conclusion: "Hayuma" ready-to-wear fashion is highly feasible for production and sale as a modern fashion item, boosting local cultural values, innovative weaving techniques, and quality crafts, helping to revitalize intangible cultural heritage through Indonesia's fashion industry.

Abstract

Research on fashion merchandising has grown in recent decades, yet systematic mapping of this field remains limited compared to other fashion-related domains. This study examines global research trends, intellectual structure, and thematic evolution in fashion merchandising through a bibliometric review. Data were collected from the Scopus database using the keyword “fashion merchandising” in the TITLE-ABS-KEY fields, yielding 337 publications published between 2006 and 2026. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer to identify publication trends, leading countries and institutions, influential journals and authors, and dominant research themes. The findings reveal a strong geographical concentration of research output in developed countries, particularly the United States and China, while contributions from developing economies remain limited. Thematic analysis highlights growing attention to retail strategy, consumer behavior, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and fashion education, indicating opportunities for more context-specific future research.

Abstract

Fashion illustration constitutes a significant component of both fashion scholarship and professional practice; however, the global structure and development of research in this field have not yet been systematically mapped. This study aims to analyze publication growth patterns, thematic structures, and evolving research directions in fashion illustration based on Scopus-indexed journal articles published between 2015 and 2025. Adopting a bibliometric research design, the study employs publication performance analysis and keyword co-occurrence mapping using VOSviewer. The findings reveal a steady increase in publication output over the past decade, indicating a growing academic recognition of fashion illustration as a distinct research domain. The keyword co-occurrence network highlights strong thematic associations with visual studies, historical inquiry, and cultural analysis, while linkages to fashion industry practices, sustainability, design technology, and design education remain comparatively underdeveloped. These results suggest that fashion illustration is still predominantly conceptualized as a medium of visual representation, while also revealing significant potential for its transformation into a more integrative and interdisciplinary field that can meaningfully contribute to design education and contemporary creative industries.
