Abstract

Hylocareus costarisensis more commonly known as red dragon fruit are beneficial as antioxidant and a source of natural pigments and potentially as antimicrobial. Journal of Food Research points out that the content of Phenol in the peel of red dragon fruit is greater than the the red dragon fruit itself.  Phenol contained in the dragon fruit peel can be useful as antimicrobial because it can lower the surface tension of the microbial. This study therefore aims to figure out whether there is an effect the phenol of Red Dragon Fruit Peel (Hylocareus Costarisensis) extract on the ability to block the growth of microbial patogent such as E.coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans and to figure out the compounds found in in the dragon fruit peel . This research employs statistical analysis experiment design by using One Way ANOVA test. The concentration of Red Dragon Fruit Peel extract used was 0,4 gr, 0,8 gr, 1,4 gr, 1,8 gr, 2,0 gr and positive control concentration thinning microbial 1,8 x 103Cell/ml. These studies demonstrated that the antimicrobial compounds in extract of  Red Dragon Fruit Peel is Acetic Acid, Formic Acid and Phenol. This research also indicates that the bigger dose of Red Dragon Fruit Peel, the greater power ability to block the growth. The ability to block the growth of microbial is statistically significant (p< 0,05) after giving of Red Dragon Fruit Peel extract

Abstract

In cheerleading, physical condition, technique mastering, and well-built mental must have been owned by the athletes because those contribute highly in order to gain achievements. Therefore, the goal of this research is important to be completed in order to observe the level of cheerleaders&rsquo; physical conditions of FO Raiders cheerleading extracurricular members in yunior haigh school Kartika IV-1 Surabaya. The type of this observation was qualitative descriptive, with approach method of One Shot Model. The chosen research subjects were 20 female students as the members of FO Raiders cheerleaders extracurricular in yunior haigh school Kartika IV-1 Surabaya, with age of 13 &ndash; 14 years old. According to the result of the research, it can be concluded that the mean of body weight index is 19,78 kg/m&sup2;, the mean of the flexibility are 13,85 cm, the mean of balance are 7,94 seconds, the mean of extensor back muscle strength are 45,1 kg, the mean of leg muscle strength are 37,15 kg, the mean of the shoulder muscle&rsquo;s pushing strength are 16 kg, the mean of the arm muscle strength are 30 times,the mean of the stomach muscle strength are 21 times, the legs&rsquo; exploding power are 13,85 inchi, and the enduring power of cardio respiratory vascular are 25,73 ml/kg/mnt.Key words: physical condition, FO Raiders extracurricular cheerleaders yunior haigh school Kartika IV-1 Surabaya

Abstract

Tumbuhan Cryptogamae merupakan kelompok tumbuhan tingkat rendah yang berkembang biak dengan tidak memakai biji. Tumbuhan paku (Pteridophyta) merupakan salah satu divisi tumbuhan Cryptogamae yang memiliki pola penyebaran yang cukup luas dan lazim ditemui di sekitar lingkungan. Kampus II UINSU. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tumbuhan tumbuhan paku yang terdapat di kampus II UINSU yang diharapkan dapat bermanfaat sebagai pengembangan dalam pembelajaran kontekstual Botani Cryptogamae yang dapat diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan nyata dengan mengamati berbagai spesies tumbuhan Cryptogamae yang ditemukan di areal kampus II UINSU. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode survey eksploratif dan deskriptif, dengan melakukan pendataan tumbuhan serta mengamati morfologi dan deskripsi tumbuhan tersebut. sampel dikoleksi dalam bentuk segar dan diidentifikasi di laboratorium Tadris Biologi FITK UINSU. Identifikasi tumbuhan menggunakan prosedur pendataan ciri morfologi tumbuhan dan kunci identifikasi yang bersumber dari buku Tjitrosoepomo (2011). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 2 kelas tumbuhan paku yakni kelas Filicinae dan Lycopodiinae, dimana terdapat 1 ordo, 1 famili, 5 sub famili dan 6 spesies untuk kelas Filicinae serta 1 ordo, 1 famili, dan 1 spesies untuk kelas Lycopodiinae yang ditemukan di Kampus II UINSU.

Abstract

Pteridophyta material in high school tends to be delivered conventionally. This condition can hinder the achievement of students' understanding, especially at the macroscopic, microscopic, and symbolic levels. One of the efforts that can be applied to optimize the three levels of knowledge is to apply Multiple Representation-based media. Therefore, this study aims to develop Multiple Representation media on Pteridophyta material to improve student learning outcomes. This research includes Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE approach. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and validation. Research instruments used interview sheets, observation sheets, and validation sheets. The findings data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively by testing the validation and effectiveness of the developed media. The results showed that the results of the media validation test were categorized as very good, the media developed could significantly improve student learning outcomes with tcount of 11.116 and ttable of 1.697 (tcount> ttable) and the results of the significance of N-Gain of 0.73 with high category and able to stimulate students to ask HOTS-based questions. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed media proved feasible to be implemented in learning.

Abstract

Poaceae atau rumput-rumputan merupakan famili dari ordo Poales yang memiliki banyak manfaat dan pola penyebaran yang cukup luas di negara tropis, termasuk Indonesia. Hal ini dapat diamati melalui banyaknya tumbuhan dari famili Poaceae yang terdapat di lingkungan kampus II UIN Sumatra Utara. Namun, keberadaan tumbuhan tersebut belum diidentifikasi sehingga belum diketahui potensinya. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman tumbuhan Poaceae yang ditemukan di kampus II UIN Sumatra Utara sekaligus menelaah potensi yang dimiliki oleh masing-masing ragam spesies tumbuhan tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei eksploratif dan deskriptif, yaitu dengan melakukan pendataan tumbuhan serta mengamati morfologi dan deskripsi tumbuhan tersebut. Sampel tumbuhan dikoleksi dalam bentuk segar dan diidentifikasi di laboratorium Tadris Biologi FITK UINSU. Identifikasi tumbuhan menggunakan prosedur pendataan ciri morfologi tumbuhan dan kunci identifikasi yang bersumber dari buku karangan Gembong Tjitrosoepomo (2011). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 11 genus dengan 12 spesies yang ditemukan di kampus II UIN Sumatra Utara.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the challenges of implementing an independent curriculum in biology learning. The independent curriculum began to be implemented to facilitate learning in schools based on the principle of independent learning, where teachers and students have the freedom to plan their learning. This type of research is a literature study with a qualitative approach. The data source is secondary because it is obtained from journal articles, scientific publications and other sources related to independent curriculum studies. The data analysis technique is carried out descriptively by analyzing the content of relevant reading sources and can provide an understanding of the findings. Based on studies from several studies, it can be concluded that the implementation of the independent curriculum has a positive impact on improving students' learning abilities. Teachers and students can design the learning process according to learning and teaching styles so that learning is more enjoyable. And there are several Islamic values, namely: The value of mercy (Q.S. Al Anbiya': 107)., the value of trust, (Q.S Al Ahzab: 72), the value of da'wah (Q.S. Fussilat: 33)., the value of tabsyir (Q.S. Al Baqarah: 119), the value of worship (Q.S. Adz Dzariyat: 56 ; Ali Imran: 190-191).

Abstract

Batam is recognized as one of the regions within the Riau Islands Province designated as a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Indonesia due to its strategic positioning along international shipping routes. As a border region of Indonesia, it encounters challenges typical of other border areas, closely linked to issues of order, security, and national integrity. Moreover, within Batam, which serves as both a border area and an FTZ, a persistent issue revolves around the prevalence of illicit activities and the smuggling of foreign-origin products. The smuggling of electronic goods in Batam is driven by market demands beyond the city, seeking electronic items at comparatively lower prices than those in other regions. The lack of public awareness regarding the implications of purchasing illegal or smuggled goods constitutes a significant impediment to the eradication of illicit smuggling in Indonesia. This research employs the doctrinal or normative legal research method, utilizing secondary data obtained through a comprehensive review of literature such as books, journals, articles, and other relevant sources, including online resources. The choice of normative legal research method is justified by the research's objective, which aims to analyze the law from the perspectives of three fundamental legal values: justice, utility, and certainty. The findings of this research affirm that despite the legal regulations governing the criminal offense of smuggling and associated sanctions outlined in the legislation, the oversight implementation by BP Batam has not been entirely effective. This is evidenced by the continued occurrence of smuggling activities in Batam, attributed to various challenges encountered by BP Batam in their enforcement endeavors.

Abstract

Drug abuse is still very common in Indonesia, including in West Sumatra, which will result in psychological changes in users. A reliable method is needed to be able to detect the presence of narcotics and their metabolites in human specimens. The purpose of the study was to validate the mass spectrophotometric gas chromatography method for the measurement of amphetamine and metamphetamine. The benefits of research to ensure that the analytical method is accurate, specific, reproducible and resistant to the range of analytes to be analysed. The research method is by measuring the sample with GCMS (gas chromatography mass spectrometry) and then conducting a linearity test, detection limit test, accuracy test and precision test. The matrix used is urine specimen, spike is done with amphetamine and methamphetamine standards. From the results of the validation of amphetamine and methamphetamine measurement methods obtained MDL (method detection limit) 3.10 µg/L, LoD (limit of detection) 2.962 µg/L and LoQ (limit of detection) 2.962 µg/L. of Quantification) 9.873 µg/L. In the measurement of methamphetamine MDL 7.072 µg/L, LoD 6.757 µg/L and LoQ 22.253 µg/L. Accuracy of amphetamine and methamphetamine measurement methods 101.9% and 95.2% and reproducibility of amphetamine and methamphetamine measurements 3.83% and 6.743%. Measuring range and linearity of measurement of amphetamine and methamphetamine 25.0 µg/L - 200 µg/L with r = 0.9972 and 0.9992. Based on these data, the amphetamine and methamphetamine measurement method with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry is sensitive to measure amphetamine and methamphetamine in urine and fulfils the required criteria.
