Abstract

The village master plan is a document that can be a guide in determining the direction and development of a village, with all the potential that exists, Jembayan Tengah Village does not yet have a master plan that can be a guide and development scheme in managing village potential and minimizing existing obstacles. This preparation activity aims to assist residents in understanding the potential values ​​of the village and directing its development in realizing the aspirations and expectations of the residents. The method of preparing this village master plan uses a comprehensive approach, flexibility, spot strategy (direct observation), and a literature approach. Based on a series of analyses and concepts on the potential and constraints that exist in the village, it can be concluded that the opportunity has the potential to become a tourist village. There are peculiarities or characteristics that can be developed towards economic independence and potential characteristics that can be developed are agro-tourism villages. The potentials are strategic riverbanks, river docks, fishery centers, agricultural land, klulut honey educational tours, forest conservation, and the natural roaming environment, outbound game arenas, campgrounds, village markets as shopping centers, village study centers, and socio-cultural potential. Jembayan Tengah Village will grow and develop according to the existing potential with a strong commitment to making it happen with the residents. This village master plan document can be a guide and direction for the gradual implementation of development.

Abstract

Kompetensi kepala sekolah dan guru sangat penting dalam mengejar keunggulan pendidikan. Kegiatan ini mendampingi 11 kepala sekolah dan 46 guru dari berbagai tingkatan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi supervisi akademik yang efektif dan efisien—metode ceramah dengan teknik penyajian materi yang dilanjutkan dengan diskusi dan pelatihan pendampingan. Penyusunan instrumen supervisi untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru menjadi poin penting. Hasil pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa supervisi akademik oleh kepala sekolah dalam rangka peningkatan kompetensi guru tidak dilakukan dengan benar. Meski dilakukan dalam bentuk simulasi pelatihan, para guru tampak antusias mengikutinya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa guru mulai terbuka untuk bekerja sama dengan kepala sekolah untuk meningkatkan kompetensinya.

Abstract

The implementation of the government's policy on learning from home in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 has an impact on teachers who have to face significant challenges in adapting to online learning and maintaining at least minimal communication with students, supporting student learning and development. This new adaptation in the field of education faces many obstacles, for example, the lack of teacher skills in using various learning media. This community service activity aims to provide knowledge experience and improve teacher competence in carrying out online learning by utilizing various applications that can be accessed by teachers and students to facilitate the process of teaching and learning activities. The approach used is a reflective approach by providing optimal assistance for teachers in need, especially Catholic religious teachers at primary and secondary schools in East Kutai Regency. The method of activity used is the presentation of material, practice, and performance. This mentoring activity resulted in (1) online learning modules, (2) implementation of teacher assistance in planning, implementing, and evaluating online learning, and (3) evaluation of mentoring activities. The mentoring that has been implemented has provided an increase in knowledge, understanding, and competence for teachers in implementing online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Child-Friendly Schools (CFS) policies, especially in efforts to strengthen religious moderation from an anti-violence perspective. This qualitative study uses data collection methods in observation, documentation, and interviews with three informants, then analyzed descriptively. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of CFS has been endeavored to be as good as possible. The principle of implementing this policy is contained in the core values of the school's vision and mission, namely the values of love and care. Implementing CFS policies, especially in strengthening religious moderation from the perspective of non-violence, allows several changes in restorative practices in schools to create superior generations in the future. Anti-violence, if formulated based on the school's vision and mission values, religious and human values, and if implemented in the CFS program, can foster tolerance in students and teach them commendable behavior so they can fight against radicalism.

Abstract

This article focuses on the managerial competence of principals. More specifically, it discusses the planning, implementation, monitoring and obstacles in improving the quality of education in vocational high schools in Samarinda City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Observation, interview and documentation techniques were used to collect data, then analyzed through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that the principal's managerial competence planning is carried out based on the vision, mission, school goals, and needs. The principal involves all elements of the academic community in planning school improvement and development. Planning to increase teacher professionalism is carried out in work meetings and described in strategic plans and school operational plans. Aspects of assessment in educational supervision are teacher attendance, teacher performance in schools, student development, lesson plans, and syllabus. The obstacle is competence in keeping up with the latest technology. Thus, this article contributes to knowledge about managerial competence as well as managerialism.

Abstract

The pedagogical competence of Catholic religious education teachers in implementing the School Literacy Movement (SLM) is crucial for enhancing students' literacy skills, which contribute to character development. This study aims to describe the implementation of the pedagogical competence of Catholic religious education teachers in the school literacy movement at SD Negeri 004 Datah Bilang Ulu. This qualitative study employed interviews, observations, and documentation to collect data from 10 informants, consisting of Catholic religious education teachers, homeroom teachers, the principal, and students. The collected data were analyzed using interactive analysis, starting from data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the pedagogical competence of Catholic STRATEGI PEMASARAN YANG DILAKUKAN DI PLAZA TUNJUNGAN III SURABAYA DALAM MEMASARKAN SEMUA PRODUKNYA 2 Lumen - VOLUME 1, NO. 1, JUNI 2022 religious education teachers in SLM includes: (1) literacy guidance outside of school, (2) extending literacy learning to the home, (3) introducing basic literacy, and (4) using creative teaching methods. This shows that Catholic religious education teachers are capable of understanding students' learning characteristics, using diverse and adaptive teaching methods, and communicating effectively to facilitate efficient learning in supporting students' literacy skills. However, based on the evaluation results, the SLM program at this school is still in its initial implementation phase or habituation phase. This indicates that the school is not yet fully prepared to implement SLM comprehensively, primarily due to a lack of resources, the roles of teachers, the principal, and community participation that have not been maximized, as well as the need for increased government support. This means that while the school is committed, it has not yet implemented it according to the established guidelines and has not reached the stage of providing innovations and becoming a driver for advancing SLM.

Abstract

The study of the role of the principal's instructional leadership in the learning process is a critical factor in increasing the effectiveness of learning. This study aims to investigate the role of school principals' instructional leadership in increasing the effectiveness of learning in Samarinda Public Middle Schools, with a focus on how school principals formulate and communicate the vision, mission, and goals of the school, plan and coordinate curriculum, and carry out instructional supervision in increasing learning effectiveness. This study used a qualitative interview design involving eight participants: two teachers, three vice principals, two school committee members, and one school principal. Interview data were analyzed interactively and thematically. The results of this study indicate that the principal's strategy is to formulate the school's vision, mission, and goals together with teachers, school committees, and stakeholders. The active involvement of all stakeholders is one of the keys to realizing the school's vision and mission. The principal encourages teachers' creative efforts in learning so that learning constraints are in the classroom. Efforts to develop and improve teacher quality and transparent and objective evaluation are necessary, and evaluation is the final activity of management processes and actions. The obstacles faced were that teachers could not use interactive with students freely, the delivery of student character was partially not fulfilled, counselling guidance was not optimal, and extracurricular activities were not optimal. Efforts that have been made to overcome these obstacles are to maintain students' enthusiasm always to be active in learning, solicit learning feedback from students, and evaluate together.

Abstract

Extremism and radicalism have become severe problems spreading rapidly worldwide, even reaching educational institutions in Indonesia. In response, Catholic schools have developed learning that contains Pancasila values. This article aims to describe the importance ​​of Pancasila in Catholic schools, focusing on how students' learning experiences in schools with elements of Pancasila values ​​form character within themselves. To find this, this study uses a qualitative approach. Observation, interview, and documentation methods were used to collect data from three informants: the vice principal, teachers, and students. The collected data were analyzed descriptively. This study found that students in Catholic schools get learning experiences that include Pancasila values to foster character in students to be tolerant, harmonious, non-violent, willing to accept differences, and respect diversity. Pancasila values ​​are applied in direct learning in class and flag ceremony activities every Monday, ceremonies commemorating Heroes' Day, Independence Day, and Teacher's Day, and implementing a welcoming and friendly school culture. This model can become a 'best practice' for schools to direct the education system towards peace-loving, inclusive and humanistic values and ensure that the matters ​​contained in Pancasila effectively strengthen students' national commitment.

Abstract

In an organization or other institution, of course there is a leader as the driving force so that an organization or company can run effectively as expected in general. Leadership style is a method or strategy applied by a leader in directing or coordinating his subordinates in order to achieve the expected goals for the common good by not only relying solely on his own abilities in running the leadership of the organization he leads, but there must be cooperation. who is good with his subordinates so that there are no misunderstandings towards those he leads. This research aims to determine the leadership style applied by the Head of Sungai Ambangah Village, Sungai Raya District, Kubu Raya Regency. In preparing this thesis, the author used a qualitative approach research method. This type of research uses direct field research (field research). The data collection technique uses observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis used descriptive qualitative, while to show the validity of the data the triangulation method was used. This triangulation method is divided into three, namely; Method Triangulation, Data Source Triangulation, and Time Triangulation.The results of this research show that the leadership style applied in Sungai Ambangah Village is in a democratic and charismatic leadership style situation. The results of this research were obtained based on the characteristics shown by the Head of Sungai Ambangah Village as the leader.
