Abstract

The oyster mushrooms are generally cultivated on baglog medium, which is produced from leftover wood sawdust. The oyster mushroom may thrive in a variety of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin-containing substrates medium. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leftover bamboo powder waste on the proximate content of oyster mushrooms when it was utilized as a growing medium in mushroom baglogs. This study was carried out at the Lampung State Polytechnic of Mushrooms Kubung from August to October 2022. The test material consisted of oyster mushrooms collected from mushroom baglogs constructed of 100% sawdust, 100% coarse bamboo waste, 100% fine bamboo waste, and 50% coarse bamboo waste + 50% fine bamboo waste. Three harvests of oyster mushrooms were made on various media types for testing purposes in the lab. According to this study's findings, oyster mushrooms grown on bamboo powder media have a better value than oyster mushrooms grown on wood sawdust media in terms of their proximate content of water, protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Key-words: Bamboo Powder, Nutrition, Oyster Mushroom, Proximate, Wood Sawdust INTISARI Jamur tiram umum ditumbuhkan pada media baglog yang berbahan dasar limbah serbuk gergaji kayu. Jamur tiram memiliki kemampuan untuk tumbuh di berbagai jenis media yang mengandung selulosa, hemiselulosa, dan lignin. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari limbah serbuk bambu yang digunakan sebagai media tumbuh dalam baglog jamur pada kandungan proksimat jamur tiram. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus – Oktober 2022 di Kubung Jamur Politeknik Negeri Lampung. Bahan uji yang digunakan adalah jamur tiram yang dipanen dari baglog jamur berbahan dasar utama Limbah bambu kasar 100%; Limbah bambu halus 100%, Limbah serbuk kayu 100%; dan Limbah bambu kasar 50%+Limbah bambu halus 50%. Jamur tiram yang dipanen pada setiap jenis media dilakukan tiga kali pengulangan untuk keperluan pengujian di dalam laboratorium. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kandungan proksimat kadar air, protein, lemak dan karbohidrat jamur tiram yang ditumbuhkan pada media serbuk bambu memiliki nilai lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan jamur tiram yang ditumbuhkan pada media serbuk gergaji kayu. Kata kunci: Gizi, Jamur tiram, Proksimat, Serbuk bambu, Serbuk gergaji kayu

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan di Dusun Simbaringin, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan, dengan tujuan memberdayakan masyarakat melalui inovasi hilirisasi limbah bambu menjadi produk bernilai guna dan ekonomis. Limbah bambu yang selama ini belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal diolah menjadi tiga produk utama, yaitu media tanam jamur tiram (baglog), asap cair, dan arang bambu. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah metode partisipatif dan kolaboratif dengan melibatkan Kelompok Tani Jamur Simbaringin pada setiap tahapan kegiatan, mulai dari diskusi dan sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi, hingga pendampingan dan evaluasi. Pada tahap pelatihan, peserta diajarkan cara pembuatan media baglog jamur tiram menggunakan campuran 50% serbuk bambu, 50% serbuk kayu, 15% dedak, dan 5% kapur pertanian. Selain itu, masyarakat juga dilatih memanfaatkan limbah bambu menjadi asap cair dan arang melalui proses pirolisis menggunakan alat sederhana yang dirancang oleh tim pengabdian. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra sebesar 60% dalam pembuatan media baglog dan 80% dalam pembuatan asap cair serta arang bambu. Peningkatan ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian berhasil meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat dalam mengolah limbah menjadi produk bernilai ekonomi sekaligus ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan ini juga memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan teknologi tepat guna dan kesadaran lingkungan masyarakat. Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model pemberdayaan masyarakat pedesaan berbasis potensi lokal yang berkelanjutan dan mendukung ekonomi hijau.

Abstract

Pineapple is one of high value fruit commodities in Indonesia. Some sellers and consumers are prefer decrowned pineapples to simplify postharvest handling. This study aimed to investigate the effect of decrowned pineapple to fruit quality and eating quality of MD2 pineapples after 7 days of storage. The research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments: pineapples at day 0 (H0), pineapples with the crown after 7 days storage (CH7), and decrowned pineapples after 7 days storage (DH7). The results showed that decrowned pineapple significantly affected weight loss, fruit maturity, aroma, and taste of MD2 pineapples. Decrowned fruit accelerated the ripening process, as indicated by a higher maturity index compared to pineapples with the crown, and was also associated with the emergence of an alcoholic aroma and flavor in the fruit flesh. Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the growth and yield response of kailan (Brassica oleraceae var. Albograba) to various plant spacings and growing media under a hydroponic NFT system. The experiment was conducted from September to November 2024 using a split-plot randomized block design with two factors: plant spacing (10 × 10 cm, 15 × 15 cm, and 20 × 20 cm) and growing media (cocopeat, rice husk charcoal, and rockwool), resulting in nine treatment combinations with three replications. Observed variables included plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, leaf length, fresh weight per plant, fresh weight per plot, and dry weight per plant. The results showed that plant spacing significantly affected plant height and fresh weight per plot, with the closest spacing (10 × 10 cm) yielding the highest biomass accumulation per plot. Growing media had a significant effect on all measured variables, where cocopeat consistently produced the highest values for plant height, leaf growth, fresh weight, and dry weight, followed by rice husk charcoal, while rockwool resulted in the lowest performance. No significant interaction was found between plant spacing and growing media. Overall, the study demonstrates that a spacing of 10 × 10 cm combined with cocopeat as the growing medium provides the most optimal growth and yield in hydroponic kailan cultivation.

Abstract

Wood ear mushroom is one of the edible mushrooms that are in great demand by the community and widely consumed in Indonesia. Wood ear mushroom cultivation has been inefficient; however, it has economic and nutritional value. Wood ear mushrooms naturally grow on woody media containing cellulose and hemicellulose. The aim of this study was to determine the potential of bamboo waste as a growing medium for the growth and yield of wood ear mushrooms. This research was conducted using Randomized Block Design (RBD) with one factor and five replicates. The treatments used are different baglog media compositions: B1: 100% sawdust waste; B2: 100% bamboo waste; B3: 75% bamboo waste + 25% sawdust waste; B4: 50% bamboo waste + 50% sawdust waste; B5: 25% bamboo waste + 75% sawdust waste. Each experimental unit consisted of 10 baglogs. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and 5% of the Tukey HSD test. This study provides the following result: mycelium filled the baglog at 70 days after inoculation (DAI), B1 and B5 had the fastest time of mycelium growth and filled the baglog at 42 DAI. The fastest primordia appearance times were at B1 and B5 at 51 DAI and 52 DAI. The optimal treatment overall is the B5 treatment, indicating that bamboo waste can only replace 25% of the whole mixed media with sawdust
