Abstract

Student leadership is one of the student abilities that need to be developed. This research is motivated by the low leadership ability of female students because they are not given the opportunity to lead equally with male students. This study aims to determine students' leadership abilities, understanding of student gender equality and gender equality analysis of student leadership abilities. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The subjects of this research are students, principals and teachers. The techniques used in this research are observation and interview. The results showed that the understanding of gender equality is characterised by the situation in schools that provide equal access, participation, control and benefits for male and female students. Likewise, the leadership skills of students who have the ability to lead proficiently, student leadership skills are facilitated through the habituation of routine activities at school even though the school does not yet have a special programme for leadership. By creating a gender-responsive space, male and female students can optimise their leadership skills that will be useful for their future lives.

Abstract

Literasi juga merupakan landasan untuk pembelajaran sepanjang hayat dan pengembangan pribadi yang berkelanjutan. Peneliti mengidentifikasi tiga masalah yaitu belum maksimal dan kurangnya siswa dalam literasi membaca siswa, belum menggunakan media digital untuk meningkatkan literasi siswa, belum menemukan solusi untuk menghadapi hambatan dalam meningkatkan literasi siswa. Penelitian ini berfokus pada peningkatan literasi siswa dengan menggunakan media let’s read asia di SDN pasirayu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi kemampuan literasi membaca siswa, mengidentifikasi cara guru menggunakan media let’s read asia untuk meningkatkan literasi membaca siswa, mengidentifikasi guru untuk menghadapi hambatan dalam meningkatkan literasi membaca siswa. Penelitian ini termasuk kedalam penelitian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa media let’s read asia efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi membaca siswa. Meskipun terdapat beberapa faktor hambatan seperti keterbatasan internet ketika menggunakan media let’s read asia. Dan solusi tepat yang dapat mengatasi hambatan adalah bekerja sama dengan pemerintah agar mendapatkan internet yang bagus. Dari pernyataan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa menggunakan media let’s read asia sangat efektif untuk meningkatlkan literasi membaca siswa di SDN Pasirayu.

Abstract

Prior studies demonstrate that numerous pre-service teachers retain scientific misconceptions, and existing assessment instruments are inadequate for accurately distinguishing levels of comprehension. This research developed the Multitier Science Instrument (MScI), a reliable diagnostic tool for improving the evaluation of conceptual comprehension.  The research utilised the 4D model, which consists of four phases: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The study involved thirty-one pre-service elementary school teachers, with an average age of 19 years, at an Islamic university in Cirebon, Indonesia. CVR analysis and other statistical techniques evaluated the instrument's validity and reliability while analysing the distribution of misconceptions. The results demonstrate that the Multitier Science Instrument (MScI) possesses high validity, evidenced by a Content Validity Ratio of 0.966, surpassing the benchmark of 0.672, and robust reliability, as indicated by a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.827.  The responses from participants were divided into four groups: sound understanding, partial understanding, misconceptions, and no understanding. Fluid statics exhibited the highest degree of misconceptions among the evaluated subjects.  These findings underscore the pressing necessity for enhanced diagnostic instruments in education.  Conventional assessment techniques, such as multiple-choice examinations and essay prompts, inadequately reflect the genuine depth of pre-service elementary educators' conceptual comprehension

Abstract

This research was motivated by the need for educational innovation under the Merdeka Curriculum to boost 21st-century skills, especially creativity, in Indonesian human resources. Initial observations at UPTD SD Negeri 1 Weru Lor showed that a conventional 5th grade IPAS (Science and Social Studies) teaching method resulted in only 15% of students demonstrating creativity, demanding a change in approach. The study aimed to implement, assess the results of, and analyze the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving the creativity of 5 th grade students. The methodology used was Kemmis and McTaggart’s Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted over two cycles, involving planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data was collected via teacher and student activity observations, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The results showed a significant improvement. In Cycle I, average student creativity was 55.58% (Moderately Creative), with only 20.68% learning mastery. Following improvements in Cycle II, student creativity soared to 95.79% (Very Creative), and learning outcome mastery reached 96.55%. Teacher performance also increased from 95.23% to100%. The study concludes that the application of the PjBL model is significantly effective in increasing both creativity and learning outcomes for 5th grade IPAS students at UPTD SD Negeri 1 Weru Lor.

Abstract

School-Based Management (SBM) is a decentralized approach to school management that provides greater autonomy to schools to improve the quality of education. This study aims to analyze the implementation of SBM in improving the quality of elementary schools. Using qualitative methods, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies in several elementary schools. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of SBM has a positive impact on improving the quality of education. Schools that implement SBM are able to develop curricula according to local needs, increase community participation, and optimize the use of resources. Principals, teachers, and school committees have strategic roles in decision-making and school management, thus creating a more conducive and effective learning environment. However, the success of SBM is also influenced by factors such as the competence of the principal, cooperation between school residents, and support from the government and community. This study recommends increasing training for principals and teachers and increasing community involvement in the education process as important steps to optimize the implementation of SBM. Thus, SBM can be an effective strategy to improve the quality of elementary schools in a sustainable manner

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Lemahabang melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 15 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes tulis, dan wawancara, dengan indikator penilaian berpikir kritis meliputi fokus masalah, alasan logis, penarikan kesimpulan, pemahaman konteks, dan kejelasan komunikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada seluruh aspek yang diamati. Kualitas modul ajar meningkat dari 48,15% (pra siklus, kategori cukup) menjadi 81,48% (siklus I, kategori baik) dan 96,30% (siklus II, kategori sangat baik). Aktivitas guru juga mengalami peningkatan dari 53,57% (pra siklus) menjadi 78,57% (siklus I) dan 96,42% (siklus II). Aktivitas siswa meningkat dari 40,17% (pra siklus) menjadi 58,03% (siklus I) dan 80,35% (siklus II). Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, yang diukur melalui tes tulis, naik dari 40,62% (pra siklus, kategori kurang) menjadi 60,31% (siklus I, kategori cukup) dan 81,56% (siklus II, kategori sangat baik). Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan model Two Stay Two Stray efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, terutama melalui interaksi aktif, kerja sama kelompok, pertukaran informasi antarkelompok, serta bimbingan intensif guru. Model ini relevan untuk diterapkan sebagai strategi pembelajaran aktif pada Pendidikan Pancasila di tingkat sekolah dasar, karena mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, melatih keberanian berpendapat, serta mengasah keterampilan analisis secara kolaboratif.

Abstract

The demands of 21st-century education require assessments that measure not only students’ basic knowledge but also their ability to think critically and creatively. In Arabic language learning, conventional assessments often emphasize memorization which makes higher-order thinking skills underexplored. This study aimed to develop a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based assessment model for evaluating the four Arabic language skills: istima’ (listening), kalam (speaking), qira’ah (reading), and kitabah (writing). Utilizing document analysis and literature review, the research designs an assessment instrument focused on three HOTS dimensions: analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6), with example questions and rubrics adjusted for each skill. Findings showed that around 65% of existing instruments analyzed meet HOTS criteria at levels C4 and C5, but tasks targeting C6 remain limited, especially in productive skills. The proposed model incorporates authentic assessment strategies such as debates, critical text analysis, and argumentative writing. Challenges included developing objective rubrics and preparing teachers for HOTS-based assessments. Nevertheless, the model presents opportunities to enhance students’ motivation, critical thinking, and literacy. This study contributed to a conceptual framework for Arabic language assessment aligned with 21st-century goals, promoting the development of students’ higher-order thinking and communicative competence.
