Abstract

This study aimed to describe a problem-based learning model (PBL) that had succeeded in increasing the competence of high school students. The research method used meta-analysis. The research process included determining research topics, determining data selection criteria, searching for literature, grouping data information, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions. The database was articles published in Scopus-indexed journals and accredited by SINTA. The articles analyzed were articles published in the last 5 years, namely in 2017-2021. 25 articles met the criteria for further analysis. The data analysis technique used an effect size. Effect size values were measured and grouped by subject, grade level, and type of student competency. The results showed that based on the type of science subjects, the PBL model was more widely applied to physics and chemistry subjects compared to biology subjects. The effect size results fell into the medium to very high category. Based on grade level, PBL was effectively used for class XI with high criteria. From this research, it was also known that the critical thinking, problem-solving, and cognitive aspects of students had a high effect size by applying the PBL model. Therefore, the PBL model was effectively applied in science learning in high schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh bahan ajar yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran kurang melatih keterampilan berfikir kreatif, karena hanya menggunakan buku cetak tema dan LKS yang didominasi oleh materi dan soal-soal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan sebuah Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik kelas IV SD/MI yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model pengembangan 4D yang terdiri dari 4 tahap pengembangan, yaitu Pendefenisian (Define), Perencanaan (Design), Pengembangan (Develop), dan Penyebaran (Disseminate). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis STEM pada tema 9 “Kayanya Negeriku” sudah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Hasil validitas yang diperoleh dari aspek bahasa, materi, dan media memperoleh rata-rata validitas sebesar 89,33%, sedangkan hasil praktikalitas dari pendidik dan peserta didik memperoleh rata-rata praktikalitas sebesar 95%, dan hasil uji efektifitas memperoleh rata-rata sebesar 86%. Dapat diambil kesimpulan LKPD berbasis STEM dikategorikan sangat valid, sangat praktis, dan sangat efektif untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide counseling and literacy assistance for halal snacks and thoyyib for MIN, MTsN, and MAN students in the city of Padang, as well as form a halal community among madrasah students. The selection and targeting of this training was based on research findings on the quality of snacks for madrasah students in the city of Padang. Many snacks are not feasible / unsafe for consumption. Service activities are carried out in three stages. The first stage is preparation, coordinating with the Madrasah and LPPOM MUI West Sumatra, surveying the location of the service implementation, determining the location of the service, and preparing technical training and instruments. The second stage is implementation, through counseling and mentoring activities that are carried out on an ongoing basis. The third stage is completion, analyzing the data obtained and evaluating and making reports. The results of the training activities indicate that counseling and mentoring activities can increase the literacy of halal snacks and thoyyib madrasah students. This can be seen from the posttest scores and participants' perceptions of counseling and mentoring. The results were very good and the participants gave a positive response to the counseling and assistance provided

Abstract

The goal of the research is to analyze the impact of Science,     Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) integrated Problem Based Learning methods on science learning. Research methods use meta-analysis. The research method using meta-analysis with the research flow is determining the research topic, developing data selection criteria, conducting library searches, classifying data information, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions. Databases are articles published in Scopus-indexed journals, Sinta accredited, and on Google Scholar. The articles analyzed are those published in the last 5 years, namely from 2017-2021. 22 articles meet the criteria for further analysis. Data analysis techniques use effect size. Effect size values are measured as a whole and grouped based on educational levels, subjects, and types of learning outcomes. The results of the study demonstrated that the use of STEM integrated PBL has a large impact, with an average effect size of 1.036. STEM integrated PBL has a high influence on the college level. Based on the type of subject, the highest effect size average is for biology. Depending on the sort of learning outcome, the highest average size for scientific literacy. It may be stated that the STEM integrated PBL approach is more effective for biology and chemistry, as well as scientific components, in high schools and colleges.

Mampu untuk berpikir secara kritis sangat dibutuhkan pada zaman sekarang, namun kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sekolah dasar masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengungkap dan mendeskripsikan sejauh mana Model PBL dalam peningkatan peserta didik di Sekolah Dasar dalam berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Ex Post Facto menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode meta analisis. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model PBL dalam pembelajaran terbukti berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan peserta didik dalam berpikir secara kritis. Berdasarkan tabel 1, diketahui bahwa peserta didik mengalami peningkatan dalam berpikir kritis dengan rata-rata 19%, dengan persentase terendah 11,97% dan tertinggi 30,16%. Hal ini didukung dengan hasil analisis pada tabel 2, terjadi peningkatan dari 61.1820 menjadi 80.1860. Penerapan model PBL memiliki korelasi dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik, hal ini dapat dilihat pada tabel 3 dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,070. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa model PBL efektif dalam peningkatan berpikir kritis peserta didik.

Abstract

The current impact of globalization has made Indonesian people forget about character education. The National Education System declared that national education has the function of developing abilities and forming dignified national character and civilization in the framework of educating the nation. In this regard, rapid technological changes have brought the popularity of computer-based learning as an effort to develop specific knowledge and skills in the educational environment. In order to establish the cited functions, education provides teaching materials that can be accessed independently by students. This study aims to develop an Integrated Science E-Module to integrate the values of character education at Junior High Schools. In this study, the Integrated Science E-Module prototype was designed using the Plomp model. Moreover, a validated functional prototype was also carried out. Based on results of the analysis, the data demonstrated that the Integrated Science E-Module is successful in integrating the values of character education in student learning and the results of the product developed have assisted them to have character values such as religious, responsible, curious, have mutual cooperation, communicative, and care for the environment.Keywords: integrated science e-module, flip pdf professional, values of character education

Abstract

The PBL model has relevance and potential in developing 21st-century skills. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review method to identify PBL research trends in science courses at universities. A literature search using the app Publish or Perish with the Scopus database and data from journals indexed by SINTA (Science and Technology Index) in the last 10 years, from 2012 to 2021. In this study, there are 32 articles about PBL research in science lectures, including physics, chemistry, biology, and natural science.  The trend seen is a rise in publications addressing various facets of critical thinking abilities. Among research publications, quantitative research is the most common type. Quasi-Experimental designs are most often chosen by researchers, while RD designs are still little used. Chemistry is a subject that is most often chosen as a research subject. Meanwhile, the test is the most commonly used instrument for collecting data on 21st-century student skills

Abstract

The discovery of antimicrobial active compounds is one of the pressing things in the world of medicine and the pharmaceutical industry, due to the increasing and widespread resistance of pathogenic bacteria to existing antimicrobials. Angsana plant (Pterocarpus Indicus Willd) has been shown to have efficacy as a drug, so it has the potential to be used as a source of natural antibiotics. This study aims to find out the types of endophytes in various parts of the Angsana plant (Pterocarpus indicus Willd) through macroscopic and microscopic identification and find out the activity of antimicrobial compound-producing endophye bacteria in Angsana plants. Bacterial purification techniques use streak plate and spread plate methods. Antimicrobial activity tests are carried out using diffusion methods by means of point inoculation. The results showed 29 isolates of endophye bacteria isolated from the Angsana plant (Pterocarpus indicus Willd). From the roots as many as 11 isolates, stems as many as 12 isolates, and leaves as many as 6 isolates. The result of Gram staining of Angsana plant endophyte bacteria, obtained 22 bacterial isolates including Gram positive and 7 is Gram negative. There were 21 bacil-shaped endophyte bacterial isolates, 7 coccus-shaped isolates and 1 coccobacil-shaped isolate. Isolate the endophyte bacteria of Angsana plants that have the potential to produce antimicrobial compounds as many as 20 isolates. Isolates of Angsana plant endophyte bacteria form a bland zone in    S. aureus (10 isolates), E. coli (17 isolates). Endophyte bacterial isolates that are able to inhibit the growth of bacteria S. aureus and  E. coli are 7 isolates

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Media Pembelajaran Fisika Berbasis Konsep Kartun terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kreatif dan Keterampilan Komunikasi Peserta Didik yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Berpikir kreatif dan komunikasi merupakan keterampilan Abad 21 yang harus dimiliki peserta didik saat ini. Media pembelajaran berbasis konsep kartun dapat menarik minat peserta didik untuk mempelajari materi Fisika. Sehingga mampu mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan berkomunikasi peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (R & D) dengan menggunakan model plomp yang meliputi tiga tahapan pengembangan yaitu: penelitian pendahuluan (Preliminary research), fase pengembangan atau prototipe (Development of prototype Phase), dan fase penilaian (Assesment phase). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis konsep kartun sangat valid dengan skor rata-rata 86,5% dengan presantasi uji kelayakan isi 87,5%, kelayakan bahasa 90%, dan kelayakan konstruksi 80%. Uji kepraktisan produk oleh 2 orang pendidik mendapatkan rata-rata 90% dan peserta didik 88,5%. Sedangkan keefektifan produk dikategorikan sangat efektif dengan rata-rata 83,76% untuk soal tes pada keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan 85,6% untuk hasil observasi pada keterampilan komunikasi. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran Fisika berbasis konsep kartun terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan komunikasi peserta didik dengan kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif.
