Abstract

Based on observation, the researcher noted that the grade X teacher at SMA Swasta Al-Washliyah 1 Medan did not use media or teaching aids in teaching trigonometry. The learning process only relies on textbooks from the government, Student Worksheets (LKS), and the lecture method, so it is less interesting and tends to be boring. The material presented is also limited to printed mathematics books, without any teaching aids or other learning media that can help improve the effectiveness of learning. This research aims to develop learning media in the form of ropintri teaching aids at Al-Washliyah 1 Medan Senior High School that are valid, practical, and effective to improve student learning outcomes. This type of research is the development of Thiagarajan's 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). The sample in this study were 28 students of class X-A SMAS Al-Washliyah 1 Medan. The techniques used in data collection are using questionnaire validation sheets, practicality instruments and test instruments. From the trial results obtained the results of ropintri props have met the criteria very valid based on expert assessment of 90.70%; ropintri props have met the criteria very practical based on a response questionnaire of 90.9%. The ropintri teaching aids met the criteria of being very effective from student learning outcomes of 96.42% with a gain increase of 0.6364 in the medium category. It can be concluded that ropintri teaching aids are valid, practical, and effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study discusses the influence of audio-visual media based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning towards the students’ mathematical reasoning at SMA Perguruan ERIA Medan. The sample technique was Purposive Sample with the type of Pre-Experimental Design (non-desaign) research. In this research design, only one class is used, namely the experimental class. In the learning process, treatment is given using audio-visual learning media based on Project Based Learning (PjBL).Data analysis used desciptive tests, normality tests, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. Hypothesis testing used a simple linier regression test. The results of the study showed that the equation Y = 19,892 – 0,310X, with = 10.359 and significance value = 0.000 obtained the value of   which is 10.359>2,0484 with a significance level of less than ∝ = 0,05. From the calculation results obtained the value of  indicating that audio-visual media based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) towards the students’ mathematical reasoning of SMA Perguruan Eria Medan has a positive effect with a percentage of 79,3% including the high category. While acquisition of the students’responses was 82,3%. So, it can be stated that learning using audio-visual media based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) gets a positive response.

Abstract

This study explores the application of the Extended Finite Element Method (XFEM) for modeling fracture behavior, utilizing COMSOL Multiphysics 5.6 to simulate a homogeneous concrete medium without embedded reinforcement. The computational model incorporates key parameters such as stress ratio (Young’s modulus of 137.9 MPa), lateral strain from axial loading (Poisson’s ratio of 0.17), concrete density of 2.4 g/cm³, and a crack growth rate governed by Paris’ law. The simulation results show a maximum stress intensity factor ( ) of 66.2 and a failure point occurring after approximately 22,568 load cycles. A mixture comprising 25% clamshell ash and lime was used as a sustainable cement substitute, achieving a maximum compressive strength of 20.53 MPa—meeting the structural concrete standard. These findings contribute to enhancing predictive fracture models and promoting sustainable material innovation in civil engineering.

Abstract

This activity is implemented to apply the theories of plane geometry in making patchwork fabric crafts of high values and at the same time provide training for the members of PKK in Bingkat Village, Pegajahan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. In serving the purpose, Realistic Mathematics Education may be adopted as an approach to be used to help participants comprehend the notion mathematics using real-world circumstances. In this case, the square theory is applied, giving the precise cloth cutting and sewing processes for good outputs that look nice. The seminar was scheduled to take one day, namely August 20, 2024, with the members of PKK who are in desperate need of a new business alternative because sales at Pasar Bengkel are falling. The training methods consisted of teaching the Trainees the skills to produce three-dimensional flowers from patchwork fabric and how to create Social Media Marketing of the products. Results from this training showed an increase in the N-Gain of participants' product creation skills at 0.75 and for the digital marketing, it was 0.74. Such an activity has resulted in three-dimensional beautiful flowers items and a better understanding of marketing methods among the participants. It was such an initiative that provided concrete solutions to the challenges of the partners and thus could make a very significant contribution toward local economic development. More training and mentoring are being envisioned to make sure that participants will be able to apply independently the knowledge and skills they have learned.
