Abstract

This study aims to enhance the learning interest of 11th-grade students at MA Al-Ahliyah Bakan Maja in the Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqih) subject, specifically on the topic of Jinayat, through the implementation of the crossword puzzle learning method. The research was motivated by the low student interest characterized by minimal participation, low attention levels, and unsatisfactory learning outcomes. Using a qualitative approach in the form of Classroom Action Research with the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model, the study was conducted over two cycles, each consisting of four meetings. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Initial observations showed that only 24% of students were actively involved, with an average interest score of 2.1 (low category). After implementing the crossword puzzle in Cycle I, student participation rose to 65%, with an average interest score of 3.2. Improvements in Cycle II, including differentiated puzzle difficulty and a reward system, increased participation to 89% and the average interest score to 4.1. The findings indicate that the crossword puzzle method effectively boosts student interest in Fiqih, creating an active, enjoyable, and collaborative learning environment.

Abstract

This research location faces the problem of children’s lack of interest in calling to prayer. This has led to a lack of attendance among children during prayers at the mosque, which is feared to be sustainable. This community service aims to increase children’s interest and awareness in calling to prayer at the mosque with an approach using the Jiharkah rhythm. Jiharkah is one of the seven rhythms that are often used in Indonesia. The method used is the PAR (participatory action research) method, which involves the community actively in every stage of the activity. The results of this service showed an increase in children’s understanding and confidence in calling to prayer. They began to practice the learning that had been done in the training program.

Abstract

This study focuses on the social development of children raised in single-parent families in Pasawahan District, Purwakarta, West Java. The background of this research is driven by the increasing number of single-parent families in Indonesia, raising concerns about the potential impact on the social development of the involved children. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of single-parent parenting on children's social development, evaluate the relationship between such parenting and children's social well-being, and develop intervention programs aimed at enhancing the social welfare of children from single-parent families. The research methodology employed includes a literature review, quantitative surveys, in-depth interviews, and observational monitoring. The study also draws on various concepts and theories, such as the Parental Involvement Theory, Social Support Theory, and Resilience Theory, to understand how these factors influence children's social development within the context of single-parenting. The findings indicate that while single-parenting presents unique challenges to children's social development, targeted intervention programs can significantly improve their social outcomes. Further analysis underscores the importance of a comprehensive support system to promote the social well-being of children in single-parent families and the implications for policy formulation and program development. This research also aims to support more effective policies and strategies in enhancing the welfare of children from single-parent families in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the EMIS-based SIMDIK program at Madrasah Aliyah Purwakarta, which faces challenges such as limited budgets, human resources, infrastructure, and internet network issues in remote areas. The study aims to evaluate the implementation of SIMDIK in improving the performance of madrasahs, covering planning, organization, implementation, supervision, identification of problems, solutions, and performance outcomes. The qualitative research method, with observations, interviews, and documentation, is based on G.R. Terry’s POAC theory and Edison’s performance theory. The findings show: (1) planning is by the Ministry of Religion regulations; (2) organization involves the designation of a SIMDIK operator, though limited to one person and assisted by other non-permanent personnel; (3) implementation is directed; (4) supervision involves the head of the madrasah, committee, and foundation; (5) main challenges include human resources, infrastructure, funding, and stakeholder support; (6) proposed solutions are a special budget request and honorarium for managers; (7) the use of EMIS-based SIMDIK has contributed to improving madrasah performance. Implications: This study recommends increasing the special budget and recognition systems for SIMDIK managers to improve program effectiveness. Greater stakeholder support is also expected to accelerate progress in madrasah infrastructure and human resource capacity.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to implement the Fun Learning model based on Participatory Action Research (PAR) to increase children's interest in learning in Ciririp Village, Purwakarta Regency. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with a PAR cycle that includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the activity were 14 elementary school-aged children who participated in a non-formal learning program based on educational games, interactive quizzes, and creative activities. The results of the activity showed positive changes in learning interaction patterns, increased courage among children to participate, and the growth of intrinsic motivation during the learning process. Theoretically, these findings are in line with social constructivism, experiential learning, and Self-Determination Theory, which emphasize the importance of direct experience and social interaction in learning. This PAR-based Fun Learning model has the potential to become an alternative to socio-cultural engineering in building a participatory and contextual learning culture in the community.
