Abstract

Tourism plays an important role in regional economic development, and beach tourism is one of the main attractions in Lampung. This study aims to analyze the attractiveness of beach tourism in Lampung and its influence on tourists' interest. Various factors such as natural beauty, accessibility, facilities, environmental sustainability, and promotional efforts are examined to determine their impact on tourists' interest in visiting. This study uses a Likert scale by distributing questionnaires through a purposive sampling method to 200 respondents, with Smart PLS 3.0 as the analytical tool. The results indicate that natural beauty, well-maintained infrastructure, and effective marketing strategies significantly influence tourists' interest. However, several challenges such as waste management, security issues, and limited public transportation remain obstacles in the development of beach tourism in this region. Findings from this study suggest that improving beach management, strengthening promotional strategies, and implementing sustainable tourism practices can further enhance tourists' interest in Lampung's beach destinations. This research provides valuable insights for local governments, tourism stakeholders, and business operators in developing more competitive and attractive beach tourism.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of media coverage on investment efficiency in non-financial companies that trade products according to Islamic law listed in the 2003 DSN-MUI article 3 paragraph 2. Media coverage reduces underinvestment but increases overinvestment. The negative effects of media coverage of under-investment are more pronounced in firms influenced by greater information asymmetry and poorer corporate governance. The positive effect of media coverage on overinvestment is driven by media-driven CEO overconfidence. Additional results show that both in general, higher news optimism is associated with less investment but more investment. In addition, media coverage influences investment efficiency through its information dissemination rather than its information generation function. Collectively, the results of this study indicate that corporate media promotes more investment (overinvestment) than underinvestment (underinvestment).

Abstract

The manufacturing industry in South Sumatra is experiencing rapid growth driven by investment, rising domestic demand, and supportive government policies, yet it also faces challenges such as globalization and supply chain disruptions. This study applies a quantitative method with panel data regression to analyze the impact of population, the Human Development Index (HDI), and trade openness on industrial agglomeration. The results indicate that while employment shows a positive but statistically insignificant effect, and the manufacturing sector a negative but also insignificant effect on industrial agglomeration, both variables collectively have a significant influence. From an Islamic economics perspective, the industry should be managed based on sharia principles, focusing on collective welfare and promoting cooperation over competition. In conclusion, although labor absorption and the manufacturing sector do not individually exert a significant effect, their combined influence plays an important role in shaping industrial agglomeration.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship, mediated through reinforcement contingency, between (a) participation in budgeting, and (b) organizational commitment, of those organizations in the service industry, listed in the Indonesian Stock Exchange and also having their branch offices in Bandar Lampung. We develop a new construct of reinforcement contingency, through focus group discussion and several pilot studies, and use it in the main survey. We analyse data from 42 respondents, using SmartPLS. We find that reinforcement contingency as the mediation variable affects the relation between participation in budgeting and organizational commitment. This study suggests the “no reward and no punishment” system as the appropriate reinforcement contingency for employees, in order to enhance their commitment to their organization.
