Abstract

One of the fundamental materials that students must master is fractions, as it is closely related to everyday life and future applications. In learning fractions, understanding the initial concept is crucial. However, fractions can be challenging for students because they involve numbers divided into two parts separated by a line, yet understood as a single unit. To address this, the researcher used the Make a Match media to enhance students' understanding of the material, which in turn impacted their learning outcomes. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, consisting of two learning cycles. Data and information were collected through observation sheets and test results, which were then analyzed quantitatively. The results showed an increase in students' understanding, as indicated by the average score, which rose from 60,33% to 78.50%. It can be concluded that using Make a Match media makes students learn more actively and enthusiastically, resulting in better learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the utilization of digital storytelling (DST) in the context of educational technology, focusing on the digital media used, supporting platforms and their impact on student learning processes and outcomes. The study was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on the PRISMA 2020 guidelines and involved 36 scientific articles f published in the 2020–2024 period. The results of the thematic analysis showed that the most dominant digital media used was narrative video, followed by digital comics, story-based games and interactive applications. Various platforms and technological tools are utilized, reflecting the flexibility of DST implementation across various educational levels and subject areas. DST implementation has been reported to improve students' learning motivation, emotional engagement, digital literacy, communication and collaboration skills. This study confirms that DST is a technology-based learning strategy that is relevant and adaptive to 21st-century needs. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for developing more effective and contextually grounded digital narrative-based instructional innovations. Future research is recommended to examine how specific types of DST media influence measurable learning outcomes and to develop practical, pedagogically grounded implementation models that can be effectively adopted by teachers across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

Learning resources center (LRC) was being a place for developing learning systems, training regarding learning skills and instructions, and providing learning resources in university. However, at this time, the LRC existence in university tended to decrease compared to the condition at its establishment. This article discusses the decrease of the LRC existence, particularly regarding the opportunity of the LRC implementation that is reviewed from the formal basis, policies, and funding sources based on the results of the evaluation research by CIPP evaluation model. The research was conducted in the State University of Jakarta’s learning resources center by a questionnaire which is implements stratified random sampling toward 212 students and 100 lecturers, non-participatory observation, interview with the stakeholders, and documents study of the LRC since 1986 to 2015. The data were analyzed by statistical descriptive and qualitative. The research found that the opportunity for LRC implementation is very weak, due to no a substantively supportive policy and insufficient funding source, even though at the time of its establishment has a strong formal basis. A very weak opportunity could lead to the stunned of LRC in university. Hence, stakeholders should formulate policies that substantially support, and strive fixed and adequate funding sources to reinforce the opportunity of LRC implementation in university for the future.
