Abstract

Latar Belakang: Wilayah pesisir rentan terhadap masalah kesehatan lingkungan dan gizi keluarga akibat keterbatasan akses sanitasi dan kurangnya pemanfaatan pangan lokal. Desa Bulu Cindea menghadapi prevalensi stunting 28% dan 40% rumah tangga tanpa sanitasi layak. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran petani garam melalui edukasi partisipatif tentang sanitasi dan gizi keluarga berbasis potensi lokal. Metode: Kegiatan berlangsung selama enam minggu (Mei–Juni 2025) dengan frekuensi pertemuan mingguan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendidikan masyarakat, pelatihan, dan difusi ipteks. Partisipan terdiri dari 32 orang (12 ibu rumah tangga, 10 petani tambak garam, 5 kader kesehatan, 5 tokoh masyarakat). Mahasiswa berperan sebagai enumerator kuesioner, fasilitator diskusi, dan dokumentator kegiatan. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test dan post-test, observasi partisipatif, serta wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan 10 responden (direkam audio). Hasil: Skor pengetahuan meningkat dari rata-rata 45,6 menjadi 83,2. Sebanyak 75% responden mulai memilah limbah domestik, 60% tidak lagi membuang limbah ke laut, dan 68% keluarga mulai mengonsumsi ikan, rumput laut, serta sayuran lokal minimal tiga kali seminggu. Kesimpulan: Edukasi berbasis praktik partisipatif efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi sanitasi dan gizi masyarakat pesisir. Model ini fleksibel untuk direplikasi di desa pesisir lain dengan penyesuaian konteks lokal.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pokdakan Kallang Bayang merupakan mitra kegiatan Pengabdian Berbasis Kemitraan Masyarakat yang bergerak dalam budidaya udang vaname di kawasan Muara Sungai Jeneberang, Kampung Lette, Makassar. Kelompok ini beranggotakan 15 orang dan menghadapi permasalahan keterbatasan pendapatan, jangkauan pemasaran yang sempit, serta kerentanan kolam terhadap banjir. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas produksi, pengelolaan usaha, dan penataan ruang budidaya melalui penerapan teknologi Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS). Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan secara partisipatif melalui pelatihan teknis sistem filtrasi RAS, pembangunan kolam bioflokulasi berstruktur beton, penguatan manajemen kelembagaan, serta perancangan zonasi tata ruang usaha budidaya. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan RAS mampu meningkatkan survival rate udang hingga lebih dari 80% melalui efisiensi penggunaan air dan stabilitas kualitas lingkungan. Infrastruktur kolam beton juga meningkatkan ketahanan terhadap banjir dan menurunkan risiko kerusakan. Inovasi teknologi dan penguatan kapasitas kelompok terbukti meningkatkan produksi udang konsumsi dan adaptivitas usaha, meskipun pengembangan lanjutan masih diperlukan untuk efisiensi energi dan keberlanjutan budidaya.Abstract: Pokdakan Kallang Bayang is a partner in the Community-Based Partnership Service program engaged in vaname shrimp farming in the Muara Sungai Jeneberang area, Kampung Lette, Makassar. This group consists of 15 members and faces problems of limited income, narrow marketing reach, and pond vulnerability to flooding. This community service activity aims to increase production capacity, business management, and cultivation space planning through the application of Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) technology. The implementation method is carried out participatively through technical training on the RAS filtration system, construction of concrete bioflocculation ponds, strengthening of institutional management, and the design of cultivation business zoning. The results of the activity show that the application of RAS can increase the survival rate of shrimp to more than 80% through efficient water use and stable environmental quality. Concrete pond infrastructure also increases resistance to flooding and reduces the risk of damage. Technological innovation and capacity building of the group have been proven to increase shrimp production and business adaptability, although further development is still needed for energy efficiency and sustainable aquaculture.

Abstract

The community service program themed "Vertical Mangrove Crab House Innovation" aims to enhance the economic and social independence of the Fishermen's Cultivation Group in Kampung Lette, Makassar. This program emphasizes the principles of the blue economy, focusing on the sustainable management of coastal resources. The approach involves socialization, training, and mentoring the community in the application of mangrove crab cultivation technology based on vertical apartment systems and water recirculation. Active participation from the fishermen's group and the local community enables them to contribute actively at each stage of the process. This activity resulted in a significant increase in community knowledge and skills related to crab cultivation technology, as well as improvements in productivity and the quality of cultivated crabs. Additionally, the program successfully raised community awareness about the importance of preserving mangrove ecosystems as the natural habitat of mangrove crabs. The implementation of this model provides economic benefits to the community, contributes to the preservation of the coastal environment, and can be replicated in other coastal communities to expand its positive impact.Kegiatan pengabdian bertema inovasi Rumah Vertikal Kepiting Bakau bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemandirian ekonomi dan sosial Kelompok Budidaya Nelayan di Kampung Lette, Makassar. Program ini mengedepankan prinsip-prinsip blue economy, dengan fokus pada pengelolaan sumber daya pesisir yang berkelanjutan. Pendekatan yang digunakan melibatkan sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan masyarakat dalam penerapan tekonologi budidaya kepiting bakau berbasis sistem apartemen vertikal dan resirkulasi air. Partisipasi aktif kelompok nelayan dan masyarakat setempat, memungkinkan mereka berkontribusi aktif dalam setiap tahapan kegiatan. Kegiatan ini menghasilkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat terkait teknologi budidaya kepiting, serta peningkatan produktivitas dan kualitas hasil budidaya. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pelestarian ekosistem mangrove sebagai habitat alami kepiting bakau. Penerapan model ini memberikan manfaat ekonomi bagi masyarakat. Selain itu, berkontribusi pada pelestarian lingkungan pesisir dan dapat direplikasi di komunitas pesisir lainnya untuk memperluas dampak positifnya.

Abstract

This community engagement program was conducted to address household organic waste issues in Bulu Cindea Village by introducing eco-enzyme production as a practical and environmentally friendly solution. The activity aimed to improve community awareness, strengthen household-level waste management practices, and create economic opportunities through the utilization of organic kitchen waste. The implementation method consisted of community education sessions, hands-on training, and guided mentoring. A total of 25 participants, all members of the local women’s group, were involved in the activity. They were first introduced to the environmental impacts of unmanaged organic waste, followed by direct practice in preparing mixed organic materials, measuring ingredients, and setting up fermentation containers under supervised instruction. The mentoring process supported participants during the initial fermentation phase and introduced potential household uses and income-generating opportunities from eco-enzyme products. The activity resulted in significant improvements in knowledge and skills, as demonstrated by pre- and post-activity assessments, and all participants successfully produced at least one fermentation unit to be continued at home. Participants also reported reduced household waste volume and a better understanding of how eco-enzyme production can support daily needs, such as plant care and cleaning, while offering potential for micro-business development. This activity highlights the community’s capacity to adopt simple environmentally friendly technologies and demonstrates that empowering women as key actors can strengthen sustainable household waste management.
