Abstract

The increasing use of generative AI tools in education highlights the need to understand how they can be effectively integrated into university-level teaching and learning. Although these tools offer great promise, the absence of a transparent and ethical framework for their implementation poses real challenges in aligning them with curriculum goals. AI technologies, such as ChatGPT, have already begun to reshape the way students learn, particularly in higher education settings. This research examines how students utilize ChatGPT for academic purposes, including studying, research, and learning activities. Using a quantitative approach, the study identifies usage trends and finds that students generally feel confident using ChatGPT, with many reporting improved engagement and productivity. The lack of regulated ethical standards for ChatGPT use and lecturer interventions prohibiting irresponsible use also impact the widespread use of ChatGPT in higher education settings. This study used quantitative data analysis involving 415 students from four universities: KH Abdul Chalim University, Brawijaya University, Sriwijaya University, and Gadjah Mada University. This research examines the benefits, challenges, and ethical considerations of utilising AI-based software in academic settings, particularly in higher education.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to examine implementing a culture of devotion to increase the spiritual intelligence of students at the Al-Hidayah Bogor Islamic College (STAI). This research collects data through observation, interviews, and document study using a qualitative approach. The results of the research revealed 19 forms of devotional culture that were applied, such as tahfidz tahsin Al-Qur'an, infaq, smile-greeting-greeting, politeness, dhuha prayer, dhikr, pilgrimage rituals, and tolerance. Implementing a culture of devotion is carried out using an instructive sequential strategy based on structural aspects, including school policy, the commitment of the school community, creating an atmosphere of devotion, internalization of values, example, and habituation. The commitment of school leaders, the gradual process of internalizing values, an exemplary and persuasive approach, and habituation are the keys to successful implementation. The positive impact can be seen in the behavior of students who have good morals, high tolerance, a spirit of mutual help, self-confidence, honesty, discipline, a broad understanding of religion, and deep faith and devotion. The results of this research strengthen the theory regarding the importance of implementing the values ??of devotion to form spiritual intelligence and can be a reference for other educational institutions in designing similar strategies.

Abstract

Students who work while studying often experience anxiety and difficulty in managing time, which hurts their learning outcomes and emotional well-being. This study aims to understand the initial state of the counselee, the process of applying therapy, and the impact of applying Client-Centered Theory with Positive Regard (Acceptance) techniques in managing the anxiety of these students. This research uses a qualitative approach with observation, documentation, and interview methods, and the type of case study research. The results showed positive changes in the counselee after therapy, including improvements in positive affirmations, emotional management, and social interactions. The counselee began to smile more often, take a deep breath, worship more diligently, and show improvement in interacting with family. In conclusion, applying Client-Centered Theory with Positive Regard (Acceptance) techniques effectively manages the anxiety of students who study while working. This therapy helps counselees to accept themselves, think positively, and improve emotional and social well-being. It is hoped that the counselee will continue to remember Allah as a source of strength and understand that everything happens by His will, including the challenges faced.

Abstract

This study analyses shifts in the mediatisation of digital politics in Indonesia by comparing Joko Widodo (Governor of Jakarta 2012–2014) and Dedi Mulyadi (Governor of West Java 2025–present). Previous research has tended to examine Jokowi and Dedi’s communication strategies in isolation, meaning there is as yet no systematic mapping of the differences between regimes in the media era and the social media platform era that shape patterns of local-national leadership escalation within Strömbäck’s framework of mediatisation. This study aims to fill this gap by examining how the logic of mainstream media and private platforms shapes the symbolic proximity and political visibility of these two figures. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with thematic content analysis of 40 data units (20 news articles from Kompas/Detik/Tempo/Tribun about Jokowi and 20 YouTube/TikTok/Instagram posts by Dedi, selected purposively based on the theme of ‘blusukan’ and visibility indicators), this study maps patterns of mediatisation through a four-phase coding scheme based on Strömbäck, combined with concepts of social media logic. Digital metrics such as conversation volume, views, subscribers, and engagement rates are used descriptively to contextualise patterns of visibility, rather than as tools for statistical testing. Findings indicate that Jokowi’s blusukan are primarily mediated by mainstream media coverage that shapes online political discourse. Conversely, Dedi’s digital blusukan were initially designed as content optimised for platform algorithms. In both cases, the source of political legitimacy has shifted from news intensity and surveys to a combination of visual-emotional narratives and audience engagement on the platform. This study offers the preliminary concept of “platform mastery” to explain how control over the production cycle and content optimisation can shape new forms of communicative power, whilst highlighting the opportunities and limitations of this form of power within the context of digital democracy in developing nations.
