Abstract

This study aims to find out the correlation between Self-Regulated Learning Strategies (SRLS) and Students’ English Achievement. The knowledge and application of SRLS will significantly influence learners academic achievement due to their autonomously participation and involvement in regulating their own learning. Research methodology used is descriptive quantitative study with 100 participants from grade first high school students, collected using random sampling technique. Data was collected through questionnaires and English proficiency test. The result of this study shows that there is positive correlation between SRLS and Students’ English Achievement. Students who have better knowledge and use SRLS in their study are getting better achievement in English test because of their responsibility in learning. The refore, it is important for teachers to apply SRLS in the teaching and learning process to increase and foster the students’ implementation of SRLS in their learning.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the students’ reading comprehension using pictures in Collaborative Learning. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The data is taken from the results of pretest and post test to seventh grade students of SMP 267 Jakarta. Both the average results of pretest and post test and the statistical analysis using SPSS 17 shows that there is a significant improvement of the use of pictures in Collaborative Learning. Pictures as the media of teaching stimulates the students interest and also motivate them to read more; they become familiar with the expected reading text by relating it with the pictures and their previous knowledge. To get more better result, the Collaborative Learning as the teaching method is applicated to sharpen the students’ collaboration in group learning, so they can share ideas and opinions to solve the problems they get in understanding and comprehending the reading text.

Abstract

This research is a preliminary study that aims to determine the availability and feasibility of the E-Module, as well as the views of students and teachers on teaching materials that have been used so far in SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru. This study uses a survey method. In the research instrument used is a questionnaire. The research sample was 50 high school students and 1 Biology teacher. The results showed that from the student's perspective on the Development of Biology E-Module Teaching Materials as a whole, it has an average percentage of 78.7% in the Good category. The highest student response was the question whether you were enthusiastic about participating in the biology learning process in class? With a percentage of 100% in the Very Good category, and the lowest student response is the question Have you used textbooks or other handbooks for biology learning? With a percentage of 49.1% in the Enough category. Meanwhile, from the perspective of the teacher as a whole, it has an average percentage of 70.66% in the Good category. The teacher's response was highest in the question Did your biology learning process make students more enthusiastic about participating in learning? With a percentage of 100% in the Very Good category, and the lowest teacher response is the question Have you ever used E-modules for the learning process? With a percentage of 25% in the Less category. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that from the perspective of students and teachers it is necessary to develop E-Modules based on Problem Based Learning (PBL), as teaching materials for class XI in SMA/MA to increase students' knowledge of Biology subject matter. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v11.i1.27247

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa kelas 2 SDN 004 Pulau Kijang melalui penerapan permainan menyusun kata. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode permainan menyusun kata mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, interaktof, serta meningkatkan minat, motivasi, perhatian, dan rasa percaya diri siswa. Peningkatan kemampuan membaca terlihat dari presentase ketuntasan belajar siswa yang mengalami kenaikan, yaitu 45,4% pada pra siklus, 63,6% pada siklus I dengan rata-rata nilai 69, dan mencapai 100% pada siklus II dengan rata-rata nilai 84. Dengan demikian, permainan menyusun kata terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa di kelas awal sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran video animasi yang layak dan praktis pada materi daerahku dan kekayaan alamnya kelas IV SDN 002 Bantayan Rokan Hilir. Metode penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analyzy, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Dalam penelitian yang dilakukan, peneliti telah menetapkan batasan bahwa fokus penelitian hanya pada tahap pengembangan. (development). Sumber data diperoleh dari data primer yaitu validator, guru, dan siswa, sedangkan data skunder diperoleh dari buku, artikel, jurnal, dan skripsi yang relevan dengan topik yang sedang diteliti. Data yang dikumpulkan melalui teknik wawancara, angket dan dokumentasi. Di analisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penilaian oleh dua ahli bahasa media video animasi memperoleh nilai rata-rata 93% dengan kategori sangat valid. Selanjutnya hasil uji validasi dua ahli materi mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 95% dengan kategori yang sama yaitu sangat valid dan hasil validasi oleh dua ahli media mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 90% dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil angket respon guru memperoleh nilai 100% dengan kategori sangat praktis, hasil angket respon peserta didik uji kelompok kecil memperoleh nilai 100  dengan kategori sangat peraktis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini bisa di ambil kesimpulan bahwa media pembelajaran video animasi pada materi daerahku dan kekayaan alamnya kelas IV SDN 002 Bantayan Rokan Hilir sangat layak dan praktis.

Abstract

This study explores the rhetorical structure of Indonesian research article (RA) introductions by examining how they align with or diverge from Swales’ Create-A-Research-Space (CARS) model, as interpreted through Loi’s contrastive rhetoric framework. Using a qualitative genre analysis of 30 RA introductions from SINTA tier 1-3 Indonesian journals in linguistics and education, published between 2022-2024, the research identifies the presence and realization of the three CARS moves. Findings show that while Move 1 (establishing a territory) and Move 3 (occupying the niche) appear in all texts, and Move 2 (establishing a niche) in most, their rhetorical realization diverges from conventional Anglophone patterns. Indonesian authors tend to expand Move 1 with philosophical or policy-based narratives, express Move 2 indirectly without explicit critique, and delay or repeat Move 3 in a recursive fashion. These patterns reveal dominant cultural-rhetorical strategies such as indirectness, collective voice, and contextual elaboration. The findings underscore the influence of local discourse traditions on academic writing and call for more culturally responsive genre models in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) pedagogy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of education and job training on employee competency at the Tanah Datar Regency Fisheries and Food Service. Employee competency is an important factor in supporting the achievement of public sector organizational performance. Education and job training are strategic efforts undertaken by organizations to improve employee capabilities, knowledge, and skills so they can carry out their duties effectively and efficiently. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population in this study were all employees of the Tanah Datar Regency Fisheries and Food Service, with samples taken using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression. The results of the study indicate that education and job training have a positive and significant effect on employee competency. This finding indicates that the higher the quality of education and the more frequent job training provided, the better the employee competency. Therefore, organizations are advised to continue to improve targeted and sustainable education and training programs to create superior and professional human resources.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work ethic and organizational commitment on employee productivity at the Agam Regency Education Office. The underlying problem of this study is the low motivation and loyalty of employees, which impacts work productivity. This study uses a quantitative approach with an associative research type. The population in this study amounted to 56 employees and the sampling was carried out using total sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using validity, reliability, normality tests, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination (R²). The results of the study indicate that, partially and simultaneously, work ethic and organizational commitment have a positive and significant effect on employee productivity. The coefficient of determination value of 73.4% indicates that the two independent variables are able to explain variations in employee productivity substantially. This finding confirms that increasing employee productivity can be achieved by strengthening work ethic and organizational commitment synergistically.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze the Quality of Service, Facilities, and Patient Satisfaction of Darmasraya Regency Hospital. The method and type of research used is a type of quantitative research with a survey research method, data was obtained directly through questionnaires to 20 respondents who were family patients of patients at Darmasraya Regency Hospital.  Sample extraction uses the overall sampling technique (total sampling). Data analysis was carried out in several stages, namely 1) Validity Test was tested with Pearson correlation (r count > r table). 2) Reliability tested with Cronbach Alpha (> 0.60 is considered reliable). 3) Normality Test to find out whether the data is normally distributed or not 4) T test to find out the influence of each independent variable on the dependent variable. 5) F test to determine the influence of Service Quality and Facilities simultaneously on Patient Satisfaction of Darmasraya Regency Hospital. 6) Coefficient of Determination (R²) to find out how much contribution independent variables contribute in explaining dependent variables. Based on the results of the research and discussion that has been stated above, the following conclusions can be drawn:. 1) The Service Quality Variable affects Patient Satisfaction at Darmasraya Hospital. This means that the better the quality of service, the higher the level of Patient Satisfaction. 2) Facility variables have a positive effect on Patient Satisfaction at Darmasraya Hospital. This means that the better the Facility of an institution, the more Patient Satisfaction will increase. 3) Simultaneously the Quality of Service, and Facilities have a positive effect on Patient Satisfaction at Darmasraya Hospital.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology and 21st-century demands emphasize the need for innovation in elementary school learning media. However, no systematic study has examined how PGSD FKIP UIR students utilize such media in their research. This study aims to identify the types of media, learning content, and research methods used in student projects. A meta-analysis was conducted on 42 articles published in national ISSN-accredited journals between 2020 and 2022, sourced from SINTA and Google Scholar. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques, including cross-tabulation and visualizations. Results show that most studies employed the Research and Development (R&D) method, with video-based media being most common. Social Studies (IPS) was the dominant subject. The trend peaked in 2021. These findings indicate a preference for technology-based, visually engaging media, although diversity in media types and subjects remains limited. The study suggests the need to enhance curriculum design and research supervision, and highlights the significance of media-based research in improving elementary education quality. ABSTRAK Perkembangan teknologi dan tuntutan abad ke-21 menekankan perlunya inovasi media pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Namun, belum ada kajian sistematis yang menelaah bagaimana mahasiswa PGSD FKIP UIR memanfaatkan media tersebut dalam penelitian mereka. Studi ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi jenis media, konten materi ajar, dan metode penelitian yang digunakan mahasiswa. Meta-analisis dilakukan terhadap 42 artikel yang dipublikasikan dalam jurnal nasional ber-ISSN pada tahun 2020–2022, diperoleh dari SINTA dan Google Scholar. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan tabulasi silang dan visualisasi data. Hasil menunjukkan mayoritas penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D), dengan media video sebagai pilihan utama. Materi dominan adalah Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS), dengan tren tertinggi pada tahun 2021. Temuan ini menunjukkan kecenderungan pada media berbasis teknologi yang bersifat visual, meskipun variasi jenis media dan konten masih terbatas. Studi ini merekomendasikan penguatan kurikulum pengembangan media dan bimbingan penelitian, serta menegaskan pentingnya riset berbasis media untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dasar.
