Abstract

This research focuses on evaluating the impact of interactive PowerPoint media on the learning outcomes of Grade XI A students. Utilizing the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, the study was carried out in two cycles, each involving planning, execution, observation, and reflection. In the first cycle, PowerPoint was used in a conventional manner, which led to minimal student involvement—only 5 out of 26 students (19.23%) met the learning criteria. After evaluating the results, the second cycle introduced more interactive features, such as animations, contextual visuals, hyperlinks, and guiding questions, alongside more participatory teaching methods. This approach significantly increased engagement, with 76.92% (20 out of 26) of students achieving the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). The study concludes that interactive PowerPoint enhances student-centered learning and aligns with 21st-century educational goals. Its innovation lies in applying interactive media specifically to civic education (PPKn), traditionally taught through lectures, thus fostering greater student interaction and improved academic performance.

Abstract

This research explores the integration of honesty and responsibility into thematic learning at MIS Nurul Yaqin Sambas and SD Inpres 6 Lolu, Palu City. Thematic learning, which combines various subjects through real-life contexts, provides a unique opportunity to instill character values in students. A qualitative case study approach was used, with data collected via observation, interviews, and document analysis. Observations focused on students' behaviors, while semi-structured interviews explored teachers' and students' experiences. Thematic analysis was applied, followed by data triangulation to ensure validity. The findings show that incorporating honesty and responsibility into thematic learning significantly improved students' awareness and behavior related to these values. Students demonstrated increased honesty and responsibility in their daily activities, while teachers played a crucial role by creating a supportive environment, using real-life examples, and recognizing positive behavior. This study suggests that integrating character values into thematic learning is an effective approach for elementary education, fostering students with strong moral and responsible character traits.

Abstract

The main context of this study arises from the low quality of Islamic Religious Education learning in schools, which is caused by the suboptimal use of digital technology among teachers. Limited digital competence, a lack of innovative learning media, and weak professional collaboration have resulted in Islamic Religious Education learning that remains conventional and less responsive to students’ needs. This study aims to analyze strategies for strengthening the quality of Islamic Religious Education through digital-based initiatives facilitated by the Teacher Working Group in West Pontianak. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis involving twelve informants, including Islamic Religious Education teachers, instructors, group administrators, and supervisors. The findings indicate that quality strengthening is carried out through needs-based planning, interactive digital training, continuous mentoring, and collaborative professional learning communities. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on the Teacher Working Group as a center of digital transformation for Islamic Religious Education. The implication of this study is the need to expand this strategic model to enhance digital competence among Islamic Religious Education teachers.
