Abstract

This research aims to understand the epistemology of western and Islamic views.Epistemology is a theory of knowledge, related to philosophy can be exemplified like a tree that has branches. The tree then has branches in the form of parts of science: philosophy of science, ethics, aesthetics, philosophical anthropology and metaphysics. Epistemology as part of the branch of philosophy is devoted to sources of knowledge. The method in this research uses library research by collecting data from writings (literacy) that are related to the topic discussed, namely Western and Islamic Perspective Epistemology. The researchers took this data from documentation in the form of books, research journals and supporting articles. The discussion method uses a descriptive-analysis method, namely explaining and elaborating the main ideas relating to the topic being discussed. Then present it critically through primary and secondary library sources related to the theme. Writerexplains three sources of epistemology: empiricism, rationalism, and criticism. The three types of theories of knowledge that are usually mentioned in Muslim thought are as follows: the first is the theory of rational knowledge, with figures such as Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, Ibn Bajjah, Ibn Tufail, Ibn Rushd, and others. The second is the theory of sensory knowledge, which is limited to the classification of sources of knowledge and no philosopher has developed this theory. The third is a theory obtained through inspiration.

Abstract

This text descriptively discusses the political policies of Umar bin Khattab in governing the state. Umar's leadership lasted for about 10 years, yet under his rule, the government expanded rapidly due to the stable political conditions and the continuity of leadership from Abu Bakr Ash-Shiddiq. Khalifah Umar proved to be an effective administrator, establishing governmental institutions and policies that separated the interests of the political elite from those of the general population. Umar is known for his groundbreaking policy of dividing the state into provinces, each governed by a designated governor. He also continued the expansion of the empire to various regions, including the Arabian Peninsula, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Persia, and Rome, strengthening and empowering Islam, based on the principles of the Qur'an and Sunnah. His knowledge and innovations in addressing poverty, as well as his ability to optimize the state's wealth and resources, ensured that the society of his time lived in peace, prosperity, and well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the history behind the establishment of the Abbasid Dynasty. It employs a historical approach using the historical method, which includes the collection, verification, interpretation, and presentation of data from reliable sources. The findings indicate that the establishment of the Abbasid Dynasty was influenced by several key factors. First, widespread dissatisfaction with the governance of the Umayyad Dynasty, which was perceived as unjust and authoritarian. Second, the ambition of the Abbasid family, who believed they had stronger legitimacy to lead the caliphate due to their closer lineage to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) compared to the Umayyads. Third, the forced seizure of power by the Umayyads during the tragic Battle of Siffin. Fourth, the lavish lifestyle of some Umayyad caliphs, which often deviated from Islamic values in terms of worship and conduct. This study is expected to contribute significantly to understanding the political and social dynamics of the early Abbasid era.

Abstract

Clustering is one of the fields of study that discusses data. Clustering is used to find and group data based on its traits or characteristics. Clustering can also be used for class-identified data. However, the clustering method automatically clusters the data before the class identifier is known. Based on the data obtained, the city of Medan, which has a population of approximately 2,460,858 people and an area of 26,510 hectares or 3.6% of the total area of North Sumatra Province, is classified as Flood-prone (BPS). Floods that occur almost 10 to 12 times a year in Medan City are influenced by the condition of the downstream Deli and Belawan rivers. Based on the results of the k-means clustering that has been carried out, the areas that are safe from flooding are the districts of Meddan Amplas, Medan Denai, Medan Area, Medan Kota, Medan Petisah, Medan Perjuangan, Medan Tembung, Medan Deli, and Medan Labuhan. Areas prone to flooding are Medan Tuntungan, Medan Sunggal, Medan Helvetia, West Medan, and Medan Marelan. Meanwhile, the areas most prone to flooding are Medan Johor, Medan Maimun, Medan Polonia, Medan Baru, Medan Selayang, Medan Timur, and Medan Belawan based on the evaluation of the accuracy of the silhouette method of 0.9 and can be declared significant.

Abstract

Indonesia's growing area of cultivation and agriculture requires a monitoring system of growingvegetation on it. By using images captured from the top (orthophotos), the result was processedusing algorithms of digital image processing combined with machine learning in order to get theaccurate information of vegetation status. The long-term goal of this program is the establishment ofan independent business unit engaged in the field of orthophotos image sensing for the purposes ofutilization in agriculture, health, territorial mapping, mining, and industrial and governanceindustries requiring sensing results taken from the upper side of the object. For applicationdevelopment, agile methodology is used, while business-side planning use business model canvasand SWOT analysis. With the geospatial orthophotos, it is possible to identify which part of theplantation land is fertile for planted crops, means to grow perfectly. It is also possible furthermoreto identify less fertile in terms of growing but not perfect, and also part of plantation field that is notgrowing at all. This information can be easily known quickly with the use of UAV photos. Theresulting orthophotos image were processed using Matlab including classification of fertile, infertile, and dead palm oil plants by using Gray Level Co-Occurrence Matrix (GLCM) method. From the results of research conducted with 30 image samples, it was found that the accuracy of thesystem can be reached by using the features extracted from the matrix as parameters Contrast,Correlation, Energy, and Homogeneity.

Abstract

The term learning model is distinguished from the term learning strategy, method learning or learning procedure. The term learning model has broader meaning than a strategy, approach, method or procedure. Learning models are patterns of interaction between students, teachers, and material learning that includes strategies, approaches, methods and techniques learning. Elaborate that learning strategies are tactics or tips planned by the teacher related to the whole preparation of learning can be achieved effectively. While the approach is the way taken by the teacher in the implementation of learning so that the active ideas presented can be adapted to then be understood by students. There are two types of active learning, namely: a methodological approach and material approach. Methodological approach concerns the way students Adapting the active ideas presented into their cognitive structures that are in line in the way taken by the teacher in presenting learning materials the. Examples of methodological approaches are intuitive, analytic, synthetic, spiral, inductive, deductive, thematic, realistic and heuristic. The result of this research is the material approach able to present an active concept through other active concepts already owned by students. The example presents the concept of addition with using the number line or set approach.
