Abstract

Female labor force participation in Indonesia is influenced by various factors, including education level, marital status, age, and residential area. This research aims to analyze the effect of education on female labor force participation in Indonesia using multiple logistic regression analysis with data from SAKERNAS 2020. The results show that Diploma and Bachelor's degree graduates have higher employment opportunities compared to those with junior high school education or lower, while high school graduates actually have lower opportunities. Higher education increases the chances of working in the formal sector but decreases opportunities in the non-formal sector. Other factors such as marital status, age, and residential area also significantly influence women's labor participation. Improving access to education and implementing labor policies that support work flexibility are recommended to increase female labor force participation in Indonesia.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate the factors which influence banking customers' financial asset ownership. Using the pyramid of Maslahah framework, the study classifies the needs of banking customers into four levels: those for basic financial services (hajjiyat); for financial assets for security or as a precaution (darruriyat); for financial assets for investment (tahsiniyah); and those for financial assets for religious purposes. To answer the research questions, a binomial logistic model was applied and the primary data were collected using a questionnaire survey with 300 respondents in Indonesia. It was found that the pattern of ownership of financial assets follows the order proposed in the theory of the pyramid of Maslahah. The study also found that financial asset ownership for transaction needs was mainly influenced by the variables of income and credit and that ownership of such assets for security or precautionary needs was largely determined by life cycle variables. In addition, ownership for investment needs was strongly influenced by the level of education,  and for religious needs it was mainly determined by income levels and life cycle variables. The study findings provide important information for mapping the financial needs of Islamic banking customers. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of financial inclusion on household welfare in Indonesia using a consumption diversification approach based on entropy. The data used is sourced from the 2020 National Socioeconomic Survey (SUSENAS) and analyzed using the Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS) method. The Theil entropy index is applied to measure the level of household consumption diversification as an indicator of welfare. The results show that financial inclusion, through ownership of savings accounts and insurance, positively affects household consumption expenditure, while access to formal credit has a negative impact. Education level of the household head and region of residence also significantly influence consumption, with households in Java tending to have higher expenditure. Household consumption has a negative relationship with food consumption diversification but a positive relationship with non-food diversification, reflecting a shift in consumption patterns consistent with Engel’s Law. Furthermore, consumption diversification patterns are influenced by region, where households outside Java exhibit more diverse food consumption, while those in Java show greater non-food consumption diversity. Overall, access to financial services can encourage diversified consumption patterns that serve as key indicators in assessing household welfare.

This study aims to examine the impact of financial access on improving the quality of human capital. By using the variables of formal credit, personal loans, and leasing as indicators of financial access and participation of children aged 18 years and over continuing education to higher education as an indicator of the quality of human resources. This research uses logistic regression analysis with SUSENAS 2020 data. The results show that formal credit has a higher chance of continuing education to college than personal loans and leasing. Other factors such as education of the household head, occupation of the household head, age of the household, gender of the child, birth order of the child, completeness of parents, household consumption, region of residence, and region of residence all have a significant effect on children's participation in higher education. Improving financial access and ease of policy is recommended to increase children's participation in higher education in Indonesia.
